Overall nice hotel. Everything is close by. Only one small thing wasn't good was no air condition inside the lobby so when u first enter smells like bathroom. But everything else nice

My mom and I stayed here after our cruise. We were concerned because we were off the ship by 9:30 and check-in isn't until late afternoon, but the staff let us check in early. My mom is in a wheelchair and the room was completely accessible. The room was comfortable; the service was excellent. The desk clerk knew that we were leaving early the next morning, and asked if we'd like a packed breakfast since we would miss the free breakfast that came with the room. She had it waiting for us when we checked out at 7 the next morning. Although the room was pricier than other options, I would definitely stay here again. It was one of the best hotels I've stayed at.

This was just a one day getaway for me and my grandsons. It was close the to Miami Seaquarium (our destination). Restaurants at Bayside right across the street. Expect to pay for parking, $25 plus taxes and other surcharges, total $30.76. I think parking should always be complimentary. The valets were all over us for a tip when they brought the car around. Sorry nothing was given to them as I had already been charged $30.76. They were so close up on us that we felt downright uncomfortable. The only negative.

We stayed 4 nights and were very pleased with the stay at The Holiday Inn. The hotel is in a very convenient location with, Bayside Mall next door, and quick access to public transportation, including the trains about 4 blocks away. I was also pleased to see the upgrades to the hotel since our last visit 3yrs ago (they have moved the restaurant, creating a larger lobby area, and are currently upgrading the elevators).

Clean,location great for south beach,shopping,cruise ship. I can't say enough great things about James. He just couldn't do enough for us and always with a great smile. He made himself available to us,seems that he was always at front desk. If we didn't have a family emergency after we disembarked off the cruise ship we already planned to stay 2 more days at the hotel. Our room was Fantastic. A view of water and city.Loved the Valet parking.

When we first arrived to our room we were very disappointed. We went to get ice, the ice machine was not working on our floor. We turned down our bed to find that our sheets were not clean. Also our phone was not working so we could report the phone, ice machine and sheets. We went down to the office to report our findings and was told there was nothing that could be done because we went through Expedia and Holiday Inn could not refund our money. We went back to our room to get our luggage to find our sheets were being changed but we still wanted to leave. When we went back down to the front desk to tell them that we still wanted to leave a very nice man at the front desk offered to upgrade our room for us. We did agree. Our room was upgraded to a king size bed, much bigger room plus the view was just beautiful. It over looked Biscayne Bay and the Port of Miami. After everything was settled we were very pleased that Holiday Inn made changes to make our stay a pleasant one.

We selected this hotel because of the location. We were taking a cruise and it was very close. Across the street were many restaurants, bars and stores. We were however, disappointed with the treatment at the bar of the hotel. Happy hour was from 4-7pm. We all arrived and ordered our drinks before 7pm and they rung up our order at 7:15pm and we were charged full price. We did speak with the bartender and he would not give us the happy hour prices. We complained to front desk and they spoke to the manager of the bar and she offered us drinks. When we went down to the bar, she proceeded to explain that this is policy and that they charge "ALL" of the drinks at full price because it was rung up after 7pm. It didn't matter that we arrived and ordered prior to 7pm. She gave us very poor customer service and I have never had a bartender or manager charge regular prices when you place your order prior to the end of happy hour. Nothing was done after that make the situation better. The front desk was very apologetic but nothing was done to make us happy.

The room- small but comfortable for 2 persons, contained TV, table with 2 chairs, king size bed, dresser and closet, very clean and house keeping provided new towels each day. Check in- we arrived early but were wonderfully greeted and allowed to check in ahead of time. Although my reservation was for a queen bed, the attendant gave us a larger room with king bed which was greatly appreciated. The restaurant (Marina's Grill)- the Sunday buffet breakfast was tasty and a reasonable variety of food available. Try the hot chocolate! Guest services- the Hotel arranged with a bus to take us to the Dolphin Mall. This bus also goes to several other Malls and Toys R Us- taxi fares run per metre so make use of this bus at this rate. The highlight of Holiday Inn is its location. Within 2 minutes you can walk across the street and be in Bayside Market- a collection of stores. small kiosks and restaurants eg Victoria Secrets, Guess, GAP, Clarks, Skechers, Hagen Daaz, Bubba Gump Shrimp, Chilis, Hard Rock Cafe and other local eateries like TradeWinds, Largo, Latin Cafe (Cuban), Hamburguesa (home of the foot long hotdog) and many more. Also available at Bayside- boat trips to neighbouring islands. Walking distance from the Hotel you will find CVS Pharmacy, 7 Eleven, Walgreens, Mashalls, Ross and lots of other stores and restaurants. All in all, you will benefit in every way from choosing Holiday Inn Downtown on your next visit to lovely Miami.

The hotel location is ideal! You can walk across the street to Bayside for shopping, dining or just walking along the bay. It is near the Arena and only 7 minutes by taxi to the Port of Miami if headed out on a cruise. It isn't a 5 star hotel; however it offers its visitors what is needed - a comfy room, restaurant, workout room, concierge, etc... I would give it a higher rating if it provided a shuttle from the airport or to the Port. Taxi from airport - $22. Taxi to the Port of Miami - $10

This hotel offered a perfect location for a night before a cruise. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was right across the street from Bayside so there was plenty to do and many restaurants to choose from. The view from our room was wonderful, looking out past Bayside to Biscayne Bay. I will stay again.

Hotel was very clean! Rooms very cozy and the overall appearance of the hotel was very good. This hotel is in downtown miami and it is across the American Airlines arena so it is perfect if you are going to a concert that way you cross the stress, walk a few blocks and you can avoid all the traffic to get into the arena plus u don't pay for parking there! Valet parking is $30 with taxes included and it is a good choice because your car is in a garage for clients only and you can get in and out of the garage as many times as you want compared to the other garages in the area. Now the service was good until I forgot something in my bedroom and made a phone call to the hotel. The guy i spoke with literally said we are sending someone to see the room and literally hung up on me after I said ok. I thought he was going to place me on hold and he simply hung up. Called back again thinking the call cut off and he did the same thing again. He should have said either that they were going to call me back after they found them or to hold on the line or to please call back. I'm sorry but there is no way for the customer to know if you don't tell me!!! Other than that... The Experience on the hotel was good.... Just don't forget anything in there because they act like they don't care about you after you check out

I've stayed at this hotel 3 times in the last 2 years & it has always been an amazing stay! The hotel is great for the price & a very convenient location to Bayside Marina, Port of Miami, tons of restaurants, American Airlines Arena, & Downtown. The reception staff was welcoming. The lobby was bustling, bright and welcoming. Check in was quick and seamless. My room was upgraded and it was a pleasant surprise. Lazaro, the bell hop was delightful. Finding the parking was tricky - need more obvious street signage but once found the valet staff were pleasant, welcoming and professional. The overall hotel has a musty or humid feel to it (even the rooms have a dampness to it) but other than that the room was immaculate, comfortable and did not feel like a typical hotel room.

The first two days of my stay was not very pleasant, the room allocated was not up to standard, carpet on the floor had a funny smell and the bath tub was not cleaned properly. I requested a change of room but was not successful, all rooms were fully booked. On the second day we got back in at around 4:30pm and the room was not cleaned. had to request that it be cleaned. On the evening of the third day after complaining about the condition of the bathroom we were given another room which was what we had expected in the first place, it was clean and to our liking. It had a beautiful view of Bayside and the port of Miami. The shift manager apologized to us for the inconvenience, got a 20 percent off our dinner on the third night.

We've stayed here before prior to cruises. There is a CVS 1 1/2 blocks away for last-minute necessities. Bayfront is directly across the street, with lots of restaurants & shopping. They were working on updating their elevators while we were there, so there were some ridiculous wait times, but they were slow on previous visits, so hopefully the upgrades will improve the check-in, check-out process. Rooms are clean and comfortable and relatively quiet.

We had to wait 1hr and 1/2 to get a room after we had arrived at 3:00 p.m check in time. We also had to pay an additional $30.00 for parking and the so call breakfast included for additonal charge did not even included much. We could not even get orange juice with it an additonal $3.00 for a small juice for the amount we paid and stayed overnight we would not stay again in this Hotel. Thank you

The staff was outstanding. They allowed us to check in nearly 5 hours earlier than the posted check-in time. This was a surprise - we expected they would only allow us to store our luggage until the room was ready later in the day. Seeing that we had a baby with us, they immediately asked if we'd like a crib in our room (something we didn't even realize we could request!). They were proactive in making sure that we understood that there was some construction in the hotel and asked if it would bother us prior to placing us in our room. (Note: we couldn't tell there was construction, despite them telling us.) The room was clean, but our mattress was a little worn.

Our first encounter was to be given the keys to an occupied room, then we had to face to snail pace of the elevators (2 out of 3 snailing their way up and down the shaft). The bathroom was not daily cleaned. The restaurant service was very cordial.

The service was okay, but not great. The only good employees we interacted with were both valets. They charged extra for EVERYTHING! $25 per night for parking with another $5 per day in parking taxes, $3 to have a package delivered there. I can't remember all of the others but it was a lot more than expected. Some of the staff seemed put out to help, the room was very small and the room service was horrible. We ordered French toast and eggs. Only one side of the French toast seemed cooked the other was soggy and seemed raw, they didn't bring any syrup or ketchup. It was just bad. If those were the only negatives I would still give it 3 stars but the elevators were broken. There are 3 but from the 8th floor only the service elevator worked. The workout room was bad as the equipment was not properly maintained and the treadmill was borderline dangerous. However, the room was clean and I appreciated the clearly marked soft and firm pillows so that earned the two stars.

We arrived to find that the parking was not as advertised on the reservation (12.00 self parking) and were told to pay 25.00 for valet which came out to 30.76 by the time they nickel and dime you. I brought up to the management and even showed them a copy of my reservation that clearly stated the 12.00 fee. Their reply was a simple we recently changed our policy so it is what it is. At the time we arrived our room wasn't ready. so we went to our event on south beach and when we got back they gave us our room key and we headed to the room. The elevators were not working properly and we had to wait several minutes for an elevator. Our room was a double bed when we booked a single king bed. The beds were horrible and seemed like they were going to cave in the middle! The next morning the power to the TV and microwave went out and we had to call the front desk. Once we had enough we decided to go downstairs and check out. After waiting on the elevator for 20 minutes we ended up taking eight flights of stairs down to the lobby. It was just a horrible experience with a true lack of customer support from management. Even the front desk staff felt horrible about the excess fees.
