"Nice neighborhood ... closer to good restaurants"
Stay was fine, all staff were friendly except one. I do not remember her name, which means she will get through her same behavior again however, I do remember that she is a front desk staff and her name starts with the letter 'A'. She was the one who checked us in. She did not offer us the complimentary water bottle and nature valley bar and I feel […] she was a little on the not so good attitude side. I told her that our room had dirty cups in the kitchen closet and they it was just that someone previously must have used it and not even bothered to wash it and also there was hair on our bedsheets, she did not bother to do anything about it until I asked for a replacement bedsheet. I just believe that for a hotel like marriott the customer service and response should be great, however this was not the case. Also, everyday the breakfast was the same, no variance at all. I absolutely loved the service, location and hospitality offered!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed at another Residence Inn in Foxboro the night before and could tell the difference between the two. This one is a little older and had different style but was ok overall.Genuine Expedia guest review
Roomy hotel with kitchenette. Decent pool and breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was good. Dead bug in the bathroom and a coffee pot that did not have the right carafe and leaked. Room somewhat worn. Needs a face lift. Awful amenities.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Enjoyable stay in Dartmouth MA."
We spent a few days exploring the area around New Bedford, MA and Rhode Island. We had our two dogs and found the Residence Inn to be extremely accommodating for our travel entourage. Very nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel, friendly staff"
This hotel was great in terms of cleanliness, comfort, and friendliness of the staff. We liked our room, which was a clean, well-kept, and spacious studio style room with a kitchenette, living area, and sleeping area. However, my reservation was for a queen non-smoking room, and we only got a full-size bed. We didn't complain as we were in a rush to […] get to a wedding, but still... for $200/night I'd hope they get the reservation right. My only other complaint would be that the bathroom fan/light was extremely loud as was the A/C in the room... the room was also freezing when we got in as the thermostat was set to 62*. Other than that, this hotel is in a very convenient location right off of the freeway with a McD's within walking distance and a gas station right next to it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good choice when visiting the New Bedford Area"
This is a well located hotel, with very nice, caring staff. Good cleanliness standards. We enjoyed our stay and found the location very convenient. Breakfast was excellent - it included full choice of baked goods, hot oatmeal, waffles and just about everything else you could want. The only complaint I have about the room is that the mattress on the […] sofa bed was stained and worn to the point that I could feel the springs (room 229) The second evening I chose to sleep on the sofa unopened as a result. Other than that, it was indeed a nice place to stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was nice about the hotel. The breakfast was convenient and included hot and cold items. The hotel was conveniently located next to a restaurant which was just across the parking lot.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We have reviewed over 40 hotels on this website during the past two years and this hotel is the most difficult to rate or review. We stayed in this hotel (the Residence Inn New Bedford) because it was rated "outstanding" on the hotels.com website. Well it is clearly not outstanding. It is mediocre at best. The beds were lumpy and miserable to sleep […] on. The swimming pool was cold and the hot tub was too hot. The breakfast was standard and nothing special. The morning person behind the front desk was rude. We stayed at this hotel for two nights because we had prepaid, but seriously considered moving out anyhow. All of this considered, the room was relatively large and it was clean; but come on -- clean? Is that why you want to stay in a hotel, because it is clean? It SHOULD be clean, and a lot more. This hotel was nothing more, but it was clean. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was very clean, the room was very spacious and offered a lot more than what we expected. The continental breakfast was greatGenuine Expedia guest review
"All fine - except for pullout couch"
It was only one night, but I wanted a separate bed. The pullout couch was VERY uncomfortable. Suggest management replace these or at least the torturous inner spring mattress! Otherwise, it was a positive experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a last minute booking and I was quite pleased and surprised at how nice it was.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Spacious and well maintained. Comfortable, clean and what I would expect. Easy parking, pleasant staff. There is a continental breakfast if one is interested but no on site restaurants. During our stay we didn't have any issues. It was quiet.
"Clean, Friendly and Great location"
08/07/14 CaraMHutchins Boston, Massachusetts
I had the pleasure of staying here three times in the last month (my son and several other sailors were sailing in a variety of nearby regattas). The staff was so very friendly and accommodating-- finding us the best rooms, providing extra towels and searching for lost items (did I mention I was traveling with teens??). They served a hearty, tasty breakfast each morning in the lobby. The pool was clean, the wifi was fast and they even had a coin operated laundry facility that was immaculate! The hotel is located next to I195 so getting around was very efficient. Each suite had it's own kitchen which was very convenient (and there was a supermarket in walking distance of the hotel). It's a great place to stay when in the area.
"OK Residence Inn"
07/20/14 Jeff W Annapolis, Maryland
It is not saying much for the other hotels that this is no 1. Microwave not working, fan in the bathroom not working, sink not wholly clean and smells because they need to remove plug and God knows what down the drain and overflow. Ok furniture, not so comfortable. Clean sheets, thin towels, palm oil soap. A little dusty in the air. I would say the common maladies of an older hotel. Nice staff and in a location near Cape Cod and good prices are the best features. Not sure where to recommend you to go elsewhere to get a better deal. Sorry I could not say any better. Probably a good place to bring a large family.
"Nice staff. Clean comfortable rooms"
We stayed after checking online and found that this was the best location to UMass. The staff was very friendly and we were allowed to check in early. The rooms were very spacious suites with full kitchen minus the oven. We didn't use the pool but it looked a little small. Very quiet at night. We ate the free breakfast buffet twice. It was just ok but then again it was free. There is a lot of shopping and restaurants nearby, some within walking distance. The highway is about 30 seconds away. Will definitely stay again.
"Quiet, Clean & Convenient"
06/04/14 MelissafromNorthport Maine
Stayed here two nights. Requested a quiet room, high floor, and we were given exactly that. Our 1 brdm suite, typical RI, was impeccably clean and neat. Our stay was quiet. We skipped bkfst so cannot comment. We do enjoy the full kitchen w fridge and "real" coffee pot. The staff was friendly and helpful w restaurant choices but they need to add "Corks Wine and Tapas" to the seafood choices. Very convenient to I-95 and the Historic District is a short highway drive from the RI. We have and will stay there again.
"Way Too Noisy"
04/11/14 Mainers Mainer
As a fan of RIs, I generally seek them out wherever we travel. My past stays have always resulted in ratings of 4 or 5 stars, and rarely have been I been disappointed. But this RI is simply way too noisy. Main culprit was ac unit that relentlessly and loudly cycled on and off throughout night, preventing a good night's sleep. HVAC unit was behind louvered doors in bedroom - not sure if this is case in all rooms (we stayed in 205) . HVAC at hotels differ in their level of noise, and most are tolerable, but this one was louder and more irritating than any other. We had worst night sleep we have ever had at a Marriott hotel, ever (and we travel quite a bit). Fan in bathroom was also loud, but not nearly as annoying as HVAC. We stayed in 2 bedroom, 2 bath room, both baths had separate area for sink, and unit had fully stocked, updated kitchen, with full size appliances. Breakfast was fine, plenty of seating, kudos to woman quickly cleaning table for next guest w/out making anyone feel rushed, and to breakfast staff for keeping buffet restocked and clean. WiFi was free, sign in was easy, connection solid No racks for luggage, bedrooms small, not much free floor space (may be reason for lack of luggage racks), only one lamp in bedroom with 2 beds - separate lamps or reading lights would be more convenient. Location is odd since hotel does not have any frontage on the street, you enter between a 99 Restaurant & a MacDonalds. Ask for 3rd floor for quiet room that does not have HVAC in bedroom, room above us had at least one child who raced around for an hour while we heard each footfall! Thankfully this did not happen late at night. Room Tip: Do not stay in room 205. Also might want to inquire if ac unit is right in bedrm, if so, stay elsewhere or use industrial ear plugs! Cannot recommend this hotel based on lack of sleep that left us exhausted the next day.
"Great place to get together with good friends"
02/09/14 Cheryl H Brewster, Massachusetts
Three friends and I spent the weekend at the residence Inn to play cards and get together. This location happened to be a halfway point for where we all live. we rented a suite with 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms and it was perfect. It was very clean, had all the things we needed and the staff was wonderful. They have a gym and pool also. The complimentary breakfast was very good with lots of choices. We had a super great time and are planning our next get away here.
"Standard Residence Inn - 3 stars"
01/01/14 MumaRules Massachusetts
This is a solid 3 star Residence Inn. We won this hotel on Priceline - and they upgraded us to a 1 BR - so the value was excellent. The bed was just ok - for one night it was adequate. Not the quietest place - the fan in the bathroom was noisy, you could hear the people in the room above walking around and the microwave was LOUD (we actually reported that as a problem to the front desk). The hotel / room was clean, the staff was friendly and they served a free buffet breakfast (not gourmet but decent). Overall, it was a good choice for us.
"Not very clean, but could have just been a busy weekend."
12/27/13 ArmyNurse2 Chicago, IL
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights working our way through the Cape Cod area. Housekeepers did the bare minimum. We noticed a used dental flosser and a candy wrapper in the middle of the hallway that stayed there for the entire weekend. The staff in the breakfast area had to be asked to stock more napkins and cups both mornings. Tables were left unclean so it was difficult to sit anywhere. We actually took our breakfast back to the room. The room was clean, but dated. There were wear spots in the flooring and tiles poorly patched with glue in the bathroom. The housekeepers did not restock our towels or coffee, so I had to go to the desk to ask for more. The heater was so loud it kept me up the first night. The second night I was so tired, I didn't care as much. I probably won't stay here again. Sorry for a poor rating.
"Typical top notch RI property"
12/03/13 DRhodesNewEngland New England
As in any Courtyard or RI, if you don't get the top floor of this property you will hear all the foot steps of your upstairs neighbor. It is truly amazing how this occurs in every Marriott property. Nevertheless, this location lived up to Marriott's standards. Extremely clean ( except for one of the side door exits where the same group of smokers tended to congregate hourly ), with a very personable staff. Terrific breakfast. As another person commented, it does have an awkward location as you need to enter thru a smaller shopping center. Great location near several chain restaurants and a smaller sized shopping mall. Only small complaint is the 'street lights' at the back of this location, in what appears to be the dog walking area, were all out.
