This is a really old, dated hotel. The hallways and rooms smell like FabreezeGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Adequate room, but extremely basic. Decor was awful, and everything in this hotel needs updating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worth spending $50 more a night to stay elsewhere"
The staff here was very helpful, however the facility itself was lacking. The coffee maker was not clean and un useable. There was no hot water in the shower just barely above cold water. The hot tub was broken which I wish I would have know about in advance because being a ski trip this was a necessity for me. Not bad for the price but far from ideal […] and was lacking in basic amenities. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice room & quiet. Suited our needs perfectly. The people who owned the place were very nice as well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We arrived late at night w/o reservation. Staff seemed unable to understand us. We asked if we could park out front, she answered yes. Got a parking ticket for parking in an unmarked handicapped space. Front desk and manager were no help, room was old, bed hard. Worst night of my life.
I stayed there the 13th and 14th of December.Thay over charged me for another day on the 15th.I talked to Michelle the front desk girl and she said after she talked to her manager that thay only charged me for two days. But when I looked at my creditcard info if shows I was charged for 3 days and not 2. Do not!!! Stay at this hotel thay will steal your money. Thanks travel lodge Mammoth Lakes CA. You should have your hands chopped off like thay do in your home country. The review about the jacuzzi is right, I was having breakfast when a guest complained about how thay were told that there was a jacuzzi by someone on the phone and when thay got there, there wasn't one. Haven't had one in a long time. Thay looked at it and was real dirty. It was probably Michelle or the manager who steals your money. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED THAY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY.

The hotel was recently painted inside with all sorts of flourecent color walls that just looks horrific! Service was overall "poor", did not have kleenex available for rooms, only provided two sets of towels and limited toilet paper. Had to ask at front desk for additional during stay. Jacuzzi was closed the entire stay as well. Breakfast food was stale.
"As of 12/12/14 the hot tub is down"
12/15/14 8443HV Los Angeles, California
On the official Travelodge website it said there was a hot tub (which was a main reason for selecting this hotel after a long day of skiing), however upon arrival I was told the hot tub was down and had been for weeks (as of 12/12/14). Also, my room smelled like someone dumped cleaner on the floor. In fact, it was so strong that it made my eyes hurt throughout the entire stay. And for some reason the bed was made without fitted sheets, which led to the sheets pulling off constantly.

Don't waste your time/money staying here. The rooms, in fact the entire building needs a major remodel. I won't be back . . .
"Creepy, dirty, untrustworthy and irresponsible"
10/21/14 David E Park City, UT
I stayed at this hotel 9/20/2014. The condition of the hotel is dated, dingy, dark and just plain creepy - with a profoundly awful included breakfast. I recommend staying at the Quality Inn across the street for a much cleaner, more professionally run hotel with a vastly superior hot breakfast for about the same price. Anyhow, upon check-in, the wife of the owner took my drivers license and failed to return it to me. And even though I interacted with her a dozen times before checking out, she still didn't return it. A few days later realized that I didn't have my license. I was hiking the John Muir Trail without cell reception, so my wife called and confirmed that the hotel had my license, and asked them to mail it back to me. It never arrived. A few days later she called called again and asked if it was mailed. They said "Yes, we mailed it yesterday". It still didn't arrive. A week days later I called and got the same answer - "Mailed yesterday", and again it didn't show up. I've called a dozen times since asking the hotel to mail my license and still, a month later, my license has not been returned. Don't know if they're trading in illegal documents, or if the hotel is completely incompetent, but the Mammoth Post office is only a couple hundred yards away from the hotel, so this doesn't seem to be a particularly difficult task for them to accomplish. I travel very frequently for work, and am in hotels about 175 days a year, so I'm very surprised by this sort of behavior from a hotel. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. And be mindful that the hotel is untrustworthy. That's not a feeling you want to have about a hotel.
"Excellent accommodations for the price"

This was our first stay here. The rooms were clean and the hotel was not too noisy. The air conditioner was quieter than other places we have stayed. Rooms are equipped with safes and small fridge and tv. All were working properly. The TV was old style CRT with basic cable at no extra charge. WiFi was also included. Continental breakfast was also included which had cereals, muffins, juice, and hot beverages. The staff was very accommodating. We wished there were elevators to the second floor as we had to haul our luggage upstairs. However the staff was eager to help. Parking near the entrance is limited but their is plenty of room in the back of the hotel and some underneath it. We found this to be better than other inexpensive hotels we have previously stayed at and expect it to be our choice whenever we need a short stay in Mammoth. We also found out that it pays to shop around on-line for the best price as we saved quite a bit of money by booking through a hotel discount site.
hot tub was cold, sauna didn't work at all. Room was noisy. Spoke with desk clerk, he said he would make an adjustment on thr bill, that never happened. The breakfast was ok, english muffins, juice and cerial. Stay elsewhere if possible.

Great place to stay. Very warm welcome from friendly & informative staff. Great breakfast and all day coffee/cookies! Big room & clean; some building features a little tired but warmth of welcome more than made up for it. Excellent location for hiking, touring & biking - the scenery was just fantastic. Village a very short walk away with lots of eateries.
"DO NOT STAY HERE!"

Do NOT stay at this Travelodge! I was told by central reservations that the pet fee was $10 per night but the hotel owner insisted it was $45 per night as it is an independent hotel. She was the most rude, nasty person I have ever dealt with! Luckily we checked out the room before we accepted the outrageous fee. It was the most disgusting dive I have ever seen! The carpet was chewed up, holes in the doors, stains, torn and hanging curtains....and a stench. Unbelievable!!! We got a room at the Motel 6 just down the street with no pet fee and a totally modern, new faculty with friendly and helpful staff. What a breath of fresh air after the worst hotel experience ever!
