"Great Hotel and Location!"
We chose this hotel because of its location near public transportation. Little did we know what a "fun" hotel it would be with all the clever furnishings! There was coffee and fresh water always available in the lobby and an extra perk - salt water taffy containers! The rooms are decorated very cleverly and we even had a kitchenette, a hide-a-bed couch, […] and two TV's. The room was also equipped with a Keurig coffeemaker and coffee. They thought of everything! This was our first trip to Portland and what a find. We loved everything about the hotel. What you see on the website is what you get and the staff was so helpful (above & beyond). From the salt water taffy to the room itself all was great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient, Clean, and Funky. A good combination."
Hotel is very conveniently situated in Northwest Portland, right on the streetcar line. Being that close to the streetcar line, of course the streetcar noise is noticeable from 7AM to 11PM. We had four very good to excellent meals at four different restaurants, the farthest being about 5 blocks from the hotel. Included breakfast was fine, make your […] own waffles was my daughters favorite. Occasionally the juice or 2% milk would run out, one of the two waffle irons was on the fritz for a couple of days. Rooms, we were in two different ones, were very clean and decorated in a cool retro-chic (I guess that is what it's called). Front desk was helpful, supplying us with free streetcar tickets, printing out our boarding passes. Property was in very nice condition. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Comfortable and Quiet"
When I first saw the photos I was concerned that the room might be overwhelmingly colorful or overstimulating because I was traveling for business and I need to relax when winding down in the evenings. I was pleasantly surprised that there was enough use of white (especially in the bathroom and on the bed to make the colorful accents rather pleasing […] and tasteful. The marble countered kitchenette was beautiful and nicely stocked, including a full sized fridge and a modern 4 burner stove top. Everything had a nice attention to style and detail. The self serve continental breakfast was more robust than many others. I really appreciated the i-port on the alarm clock and the extra outlets in convenient places for plugging things in, as well as the many channels of tv to watch at no extra charge. Even though the light rail is right outside, I never heard it and my room was ground floor right off the street. The rooms must be well insulated because it felt very quiet. I would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Find- you won't be dissatisfied"
Very clean, modern and comfy beds! I had a suite which I thought was fairly large and it had a nice balcony. Staff is great and you can't beat free parking and breakfast! There are a ton of great eateries within walking distance and so fun walking in the neighborhood.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fun and practical."
This hotel was very pleasant and the kids loved the quirky touches like the colorful décor and the free saltwater taffy bowls. The complimentary breakfast was quite good and I liked having access to the free streetcar passes. No bar or restaurant in the hotel but plenty of these within a very short walk. Our room had a king and a sofa sleeper. Would […] have preferred two queens but that was not available, at least when we booked. Also they had some complimentary wine and cheese tasting one night we were there. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Place in Portland, OR"
I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Portland. We enjoyed our stay very much. Very friendly, happy hour on Wed. and breakfast each morning.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient to clinics and resaurants."
Very nice hotel. Their color palate was on the outrageous. Much more obnoxious color than we are used to. Room was large and comfortable with a kitchen and balcony. Lovely except for the décor.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A brightly colored gem"
I loved the use of color, especially on a dreary NW day. Like a bag of tropical Skittles erupted - it was a rainbow of flavor for the eyes.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I left my heart in Portland"
The only down side is we saw a sock on the floor that didn't belong to any of us. We were awed by the deco the moment we walked in the hotel. So many good things about this fun little inn: 1. The dining area had fresh coffee/tea and fruits all the time 2. Free street car passes for guests 3. Spacious room with full kitchen, 2 TV's. 4. Friendly staff. 5. […] The breakfast food was fresh. The area has plenty of interesting restaurants/shops within walking distance and the street car can take you to downtown and other areas. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I would happily and very readily recommend this place to ANYONE! We had booked a normal king sized bed room, but to our very pleasant surprise, were upgraded to the king suite which was BEAUTIFUL! Most hotels don't really look like they do in the "professional" pictures, but this one looked even better! Our room was very hip and the colors were bold, […] lively and vivid. The bathroom was great with two shower heads which is always great! The front desk staff were also very friendly and very helpful! We stayed for just a night but would have loved to stay for more! "Friendly Service and Convenient Location"
We stayed here based on the reviews and were not disappointed. The decor was cheerful (though not my style), the staff was friendly and helpful, parking was free, and the streetcar was convenient for getting to other parts of the city. The shops and restaurants on NW 21st and NW 23rd Streets were within walking distance. The free taffy was a nice touch. […] The only down side was that the breakfast, although ample, was nothing special. Would definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful colors, Thin Walls"
The title pretty much sums up my experience. I absolutely loved the design and furniture of the room. We got a sizable room at reasonable price. However, at night when we were going to bed, it sounded like everyone was slamming their doors as they got home around 1AM. To make matters worse, I was awoken by children running up and down the hallway. It's […] not that they were trying to be loud, it's that you simply hear everything going on in that hotel. Maybe it's better to be on the 2nd floor. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"I found a gem and want to share with everyone!"
The hotel was located in walking distance of so many great shops and restaurants and downtown/the Pearl (we walked but was also an easy street car ride). The hotel was WONDERFUL, a full kitchen in the room a nice living area and one of the most comfortable beds I have slept on in a hotel. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Portland, hands […] down give the Inn at Northrup Station a try. "Nice location and close to the street car."
The best part of this hotel is location. The rooms were pretty big with a nice kitchen if you need it. The bed was pretty comfortable and there are 2 TV's. The colors are crazy but it's the style of the hotel. My only complaint was they forgot to clean our room. By the time we got back from our day of site seeing, we didn't want to leave our room again […] for them to clean it, so we didn't say anything and we were checking out the next day. I was going to say something at checkout but the young guy that checked us out wasn't very friendly and didn't even ask me how my stay was.. He was rather rude, actually. That was my only complaint but I can't blame the management since we didn't tell them and give them a chance to fix it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Fun & Homey. Totally fits in NW Portland"
There were 2 main reasons that I chose Northrup Station. The first reason was the location. It's in a sort of residential area, as opposed to the typical shopping area (there is still a lot of that within walking distance), so it's pretty calm and quiet. The second reason was the full kitchen in my room. When I booked, I was expecting a microwave, fridge, […] half stove, and *maybe* a dishwasher in a kitchenette. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived to an actual FULL sized kitchen, as in 4 burners on the stove, dishwasher, microwave, full size refrigerator, and even an oven. A lot of hotels will have a refrigerator and/or a microwave, and I don't care much about the dishwasher, but there are not many with ovens. I travel a LOT, so I look for places that offer the comforts of feeling at home, and Northrup Station delivered. They're a little pricey for a 2.5 star hotel, but definitely worth it. I still cant figure out why they're not 3 stars, but I will definitely stay again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Convenient, comfortable hotel"
We only had one day in Portland but had an excellent stay. The hotel is set up like studio apts so actually had a nice small kitchen which could be very helpful for longer stays (though we did not use it). Portland is a small city so getting around is no problem and the streetcar stops literally outside the front door. The free parking was a nice plus. […] The decor is funky but in a nice way. Very convenient for the west side parks and easy access to the downtown area. Definitely would recommend this hotel. "I could live here"
This place is a fresh approach to a hotel. The full-featured suite was so perfectly set up that if I were planning to live in Portland, I would have inquired about monthly rates. Indeed, I asked the front desk if the same company had anything like it in my home city of Seattle. Other reviews raved about the daring, lively, not-so-Northwest colors and […] design choices, and I loved them too. As a long-time Northwesterner, I was glad to see someone deviating from the tired Earth tones and shades of black that have infected the esthetic of the Northwest. However, the fantastic interior design was deeper than just the color; the layout, use of space, and choice of appointments was spot-on. My only gripe would be about the mind-blowingly wasteful Keurig coffee maker in the room (coffee used to create not much more than compost fodder until Keurig figured out how to make it as wasteful as the rest of Americana), but many people have been seduced by its supposed easy-of-use (as if making coffee was ever really that hard). In closing, for a breath of fresh air and an experience you won't get out of the big chains, definitely give this place a try. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best stop on our trip"
What a refreshing, welcome oasis in the world of "meh" hotels. "Close to everything."
Having booked so far in advance I had forgotten that each room comes equipped with a full kitchen in the all suite hotel. A very nice perk when travelling with a toddler. We we able to hop on the streetcar whose stop is right outside the Inn and go grocery shopping at Whole Foods for some necessities. The kitchen comes fully stocked with pots, pans, […] table and silverware and cutlery. I was super happy it had a Keurig. Mama needs her morning java and nightly tea. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and inviting. I'm sure you're wondering about the street car going by... truthfully it only sounds like a distant roll of thunder and last for only about that long too. You and the kids will NOT lose sleep! The bed was very comfortable. I can't vouch for the pull out since we didn't use it but the couch portion was cozy. The living area very spacious. Two flat screen tvs. I forgot to mention they even have a extensive free continental breakfast and "Wine Wednesdays". All in all a wonderful stay on our first trip to Portland. The Inn at Northrup Station has everything we wanted and so centrally located I doubt we'll stay anywhere else when we visit again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We really like this hotel. We stayed there few times. The staff are very friendly and the service is great. The only suggestion that I have is that they have to do some upgrade . The air condition system are old and also the lamps need some repair or upgrade.Genuine Expedia guest review

We stayed for a week and found almost everything about the hotel to be nice! "Quaint Hotel in NW Downtown Portland"
This is a quaint hotel in NW downtown Portland. I think it has been recently renovated. The interior is brightly decorated with bold colors. The rooms are large and clean. "Fun and hip!"
What a fun place! It's easy to see that this is a majorly refurbished older facility, but what a job they've done! A lot of care and imagination went into the renovation of this hotel. It's decorated with jazzed-up funky color everywhere, right down to the soap dishes and wrapping on the extra toilet paper roll. I had a king suite with a sofa, desk, […] and kitchenette, well stocked with cooking utensils, plates, and cutlery. The in-room coffee service is a Keurig machine - nice touch! Bedding was super-comfy. There are two flat screen TVs in the room so you don't have to crane your neck to see. There's also free coffee and a ton of salt water taffy in the lobby where complementary breakfast is available daily. The Portland streetcar (trolley) stops right outside the hotel. A buck will take you all over town for two hours, but you can get a ticket for a free ride from the hotel's front desk. This hotel is in a great location for restaurants. I could have stayed a week just exploring food options, and Portland is a delicious city for foodies! The Pearl District is less than a mile away, an enjoyable walk if you're accustomed to getting around on foot. Check-in was fast for me and my friends, at very different times of day. Front desk staff were quick to help us with streetcar and taxi needs.
