"Great accommodations in the Pearl"
This is not my first stay at Northrup but it was my first in many years. What a great experience! the location allowed for easy walking access to the full breadth of the Pearl District, and the room was very spacious, clean and comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel in central location"
The hotel is very close to where we had some business to complete. The general look and feel is good and staff are very friendly and helpful. The only negative is that the person in the room above could be noisy if they walk hard on the wooden floors. The free parking and close proximity to restaurants is also a big plus.Genuine Expedia guest review
Big bed, spacious rooms, free parking and mod looking. Great for the price. A couple of issues: Bring your own Internet. This is my biggest and only serious complaint. Three or four wireless networks to connect to, but nearly all had trouble handling the bandwidth of an email. Don't expect to get any work done or stream a video. The building is cheaply […] built? It just felt like the floors had a creak and flex to them that this was not a structure intended for the long haul. I felt bad for anyone who might have been below me, just walking around. I did have a few ants come out when I left the sink wet. We live on earth, that happens, no big deal. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel is clean comfortable and playful. Would definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Friendly staff, clean, nice amenities and interesting decor. Great neighborhood locale with shopping and restaurants close by. Trolley stop 100' away for travel to downtown. Excellent stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to streetcar and Trimet."
Amazing colorful style and comfortable spacious rooms. Would love return and explore Portland over several days.Genuine Expedia guest review
I enjoyed my stay at the Inn at Northrup Station. The staff was friendly, the room was clean. I really liked the layout of the room and the kitchenette turned out to be quite useful as I ended up staying in the room for two extra nights due to a winter storm that made for treacherous driving conditions. The do-it-yourself breakfast (fruit, cereal, toast, […] bagels, or waffles) was a nice approach to the 'continental breakfast' that so many places offer. There was some remodeling going on in the rooms on either side of mine that made for a noisy day. The staff offered me another room, but since they were already done for the weekend, I stayed where I was and everything was fine from then on. The bottom line is that I will stay here again when I'm in Portland. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location with Whimsical Decor"
Hotel is nicely situated near the old Pearl district with lots of restaurant & pubs. Downtown is easily accessible by the trolley which stops near the hotel or a leisurely 2-3 mile walk. Breakfast and parking are included in the price. Suites are large with petite kitchenette, beds extremely comfortable, room clean and internet excellent. Hotel and […] rooms are decorated in funky colors. The hotel reminds me of the IBIS chain of hotels in Europe except slightly more upscale. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was adequate and bon bons are provided in the afternoons. We would choose this hotel again for our next trip to Portland. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"like a studio apartment"
Inn at Northrup Station is a few blocks from the nicest neighborhood in Porland (the alphabet district NW) and the light rail train runs right past it for an easy ride downtown, which is only a mile away. You can get free passes for the light rail at the front desk. The hotel itself looks more like an apartment building, with balconies and patios with […] torches. The room is actually a studio---complete kitchen with dishes etc and a Keurig coffee maker, living room area, closet, bed, dresser drawers, bathroom. Two people could live here comfortably for a month. The decor is playful, modern, clean and nice but not pretentious. Front desk personnel were helpful and charming. Negatives: There was some peeling paint in the bathroom (but it was still a clean and pleasant bathroom). There is very little noise insulation. We were fortunate to be staying there with quiet guests so it wasn't a problem for us, but we could hear every footstep from the unit above and every conversation in the hallway. It wasn't a problem for us, but with a noisier guest list I imagine it would be. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Our favorite hotel in Portland"
We have stayed at Northrup many times. We love the staff, the cleanliness and the funky colors and design.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good moderately priced place to stay in Portland ."
We have stayed at the Inn several times because it is fairly priced, easy to access from the interstate, and decorated in such a wild manner with purple walls and green walls. It is a riot of color! Breakfast place was crowded due to temporary relocation because of some building repair. We will definitely return to the Inn.Genuine Expedia guest review
We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and convience of your hotel in general. Great decor. See you again.Genuine Expedia guest review
I loved this hotel. It is different than the big chain hotels, quaint and very comfortable. It is right on the street car route making it very easy to get around. We walked downtown and took the street car back. This gave us an opportunity to explore the many shops along the way we would have otherwise missed. I will definitely stay there again when […] I visit Portland. They were doing some renovating while we were there but it did not cause any issues. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"would definitely return"
What a fun place! I loved the full kitchen and fun decor of the room. I would have given it 5 stars all the way across, except the lobby was under construction which was annoying and slightly loud and inconvenient. It's necessary, I understand, but even if they'd put a small thank you/apology note or gift in the rooms, that would have made a tremendous […] difference - just to acknowledge it. "Hotel a little tired but everything else great"
A little noisy. Thin walls. I think everyone recognized that and kept it down, although we were there on a Sunday and Monday. Excellent location near 21st. Parking great. Staff great. Bed really comfortable. There is a heat/AC unit in the wall. Room was warm despite turning the 'heat' down to 57. Didn't quite figure this out, but I didn't ask either. […] Some areas were a little worn but not overly so. Good value. I'd stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Enjoyed the great colors, and funkiness of this hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great find. Wanted a change from the usual "downtown" experience. Staff was fantastic-moving us immediatlely to a room he thought would be a better fit. Close to fun Northwest shopping and restaurants/bars-especially Wildwood. Will definitely return.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, comfortable stay"
The Nob Hill location is wonderful, with PLENTY of shopping and restaurants on 23rd and 21st. I've seen some complaints in reviews on the complimentary breakfast, but my family thought that it was great. The hotel staff was very accommodating and allowed for us to check in early. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Funky Hotel, Convenient Location"
We spent a long weekend at Northrup. The hotel is very nice. The rooms and building are furnished in bright, funky colors. We thought it was really fun. The suite had plenty of space, and a very comfortable bed. It's walking distance to lots of dining options, or short drives to all of downtown Portland. The desk said they could even give us passes […] for public transportation, but we didn't use them. We had good Wi-fi coverage in our room. Breakfast was good. Nothing fancy, but plenty to eat. I would definitely stay at the hotel again. I only had two minor drawbacks, first, to use their computer to print boarding passes, they required you to pay for 15 minutes of internet, so we just skipped it. Second, we could hear the people above us, which was entertaining to say the least! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fun place to relax"
Our daughter first brought her daughters to stay and they loved it. Sounded quirky and fun. And it was!! The decor reminds us of Dr. Seus. The staff was very helpful. Even though we did not use the street car that is just outside the hotel. The staff was very helpful in directing another patron how to use it and daily passes were available from the […] hotel, complimentary. The staff was also available during the complimentary breakfast to restock, clean up and talk to patrons. The rooms were very clean, beautifully equipped kitchen for those who want to stay for several days. Each room had its own ice maker. Deilightful moroccan restraunt half a block away. Only downfall, the bed was a little too firm. Would we go back? Absolutely!!! Think this is going to be our stop each time we stay in Portland. Bonus is, you never really need to drive anywhere when you stay there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect for our family vacation"
We were very happy with our entire stay! Having never been to Oregon, we were nervous about just choosing a hotel on line from across the country! We read the great reviews and hoped for the best. We were more than thrilled when we got there. The staff was friendly and the rooms large and very clean--perfect for our family of 4. There was a kitchen […] and two tvs! The trolley was right outside the hotel and a very easy trip to anywhere in the city, even with a 7 and 9 year old. It is in walking distance to a very cute section of the city with a lot of great little restaurants. Parking was free and the hotel was so convenient to every highway we needed--whether we were heading to the beach, Eugene, or Mount Hood. The breakfast satisfied even my overly picky autistic son!! We would definitely stay there again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Would Stay Here Again in a Heartbeat"
Charming, clean, affordable, roomy and comfortable. A short walk to fun shops and restaurants. And free candy!! My biggest complaints: the staff didn't smile enough and the towels were on the thin side. But when those are your biggest complaint, you know you've found a winner. Planning to return to PDX and this is where we'll be staying!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great, eclectic hotel"

The hotel is well located in a very walkable neighborhood. It was clean, the staff was attentive. We didn't need the kitchen but it was fine. "Awesome Hotel close to downtown"
We had a great time, the hotel staff is very friendly and always had time to give advise on things to do, where to eat ect. They provided streetcar tickets and the stop right outside the hotel. "Nice hotel in great area."
The hotel was very clean and the room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful at all times of the day and night. Access to the nearby health club helped soothe my fear of running in an unfamiliar neighborhood. The surrounding area has good restaurants and has a young, hip feel to it. I enjoyed my stay very much.Genuine Expedia guest review
There were ants in the bathroom and the car we drove was broken into in the hotel parking lot.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Overrated and Overpriced"
During the afternoons the hotel was in complete chaos as the cleaning staff was talking loudly and blocking hallways and exits with their bulky carts. During the afternoon and early morning hours (5am!) children were running back and forth down the halls. The loud television noise from adjoining rooms was disruptive much of the time. In the main the […] staff tended to guest needs but was quite unprofessional. In one instance a staffer asked if a cup in the lunch room belonged to us. When I replied "yes, my wife brought it down from the room". She then said "Well, you have to take it back" and slammed the cup down on the table. The hotel seems content with its "funky" image (eclectic to the point of strange in in its decor). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel in a great neighbourhood"
A small boutique hotel with very hip colors and design. Our room was quite large with a full kitchen, much like a studio apartment. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is a nice mix of residential, shops, cafes and restaurants. We ate in three restaurants within walking distance and they were all excellent. The hotel provides free streetcars passes […] and the stop is right outside the door. A fun, easy ride to the downtown core. Will definitely come back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"You MUST stay here when in Portland!"
It was never a question for us...we wanted to be near downtown Portland but NOT 'in' downtown! When The Inn at Northrup Station appeared with so many positive reviews, I had to book our 2 night stay with them. Once we arrived, we were struck by the hip and cool look of the building, the fantastic, vibrant colors of the interior, the beautiful king-size […] bed and ample amount of room in our suite. The front-desk staff was so helpful with suggestions for dining, shopping, directions, and don't forget the complimentary streetcar tickets. The complimentary breakfast was full of 'the usual' offerings, but, certainly ample. There was even a Keurig coffeemaker in the room..what a nice surprise! Now, not everything could be perfect, so only one minor comment re: the bathroom...it was handicap accessible, which is a huge positive, but we were not in need of the shower seat/bench, so that kind of got in the way...believe me, we worked around it! Also, since the shower was handicap-accessible, the water got EVERYWHERE!! (Thank goodness they supplied plenty of towels..took care of that minor problem without difficulty!) We would stay again without question! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quirky Hotel in Great Neighborhood"
The Inn is colorful to the extreme--bright orange, purple, yellow and lime, among others, are splashed everywhere, making it quite playful in feel. The corridors are long and jazzy. My room/suite reminded me of a cool college dorm. In addition to a king bed, I had a sofa and comfortable chair, two flat screen tv's, a kitcheonette and balcony. Altogether […] quite large. The bathroom was small but adequate. Shower rod was askew so curtain slid to center from both ends. Coffee pot did not work and there were a number of small ants, both in my room and breakfast room., Perhaps due to the excessive rain. Breakfast was very nice and plentiful. I was surprised with Happy Hour and lovely hors 'doubted, including steamed shrimp, on Wednesday (only). It was delightful and well attended. I would recommend and stay there again. I have to say, I hadn't expected to like this hotel as much as I did! We chose this hotel for it's NW location and that we could sleep 3 adults (pull out couch) comfortably without jumping up to a $300+ a night suite at some of the other hip hotels. This one had good reviews and looked fun albeit kitchy. The location can't be beat for all the City of […] Portland has to offer... easy access to almost anywhere, and the room was HUGE! Yes, the colors are bright, but I thought they were a bit more subdued than in the pics. There was a lot of seating as well, which was nice when a few friends came to meet us before dinner. I thought the bed was very comfortable and I'm a Temperpedic snob. There were tons of pillows on the bed and a duvet cover, which I love. It was pouring rain for our weekend, so we didn't use the balcony, but it was nice and quite roomy. The kitchen is very nice too, with all the basics, keurig coffee maker and a full size fridge. The breakfast was great, yogurts, fruit, cereal, waffles, etc. Would stay here again and would highly recommend it!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

What a great surprise to find a kitchenette and balcony overlooking the street. everything was situated nicely providing comfort and space. "Good location, a bit noisy"
I enjoyed my stay here for the most part. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good neighborhood in walking distance (or take the streetcar) to get to all sorts of downtown locations. It was too noisy for a restful night though. The streetcar runs until late and starts up again early in the morning and I could hear it while trying to sleep.
