"Great Little Inn"
We were visiting Portland for our anniversary. The hotel staff at Northrup Station were pleasant and helpful. The king bed was very comfortable and the hotel is in a convenient location. We would stay there again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a great little place to stay. It's in a great part of town. you can walk to restaurants and cute shops. definitely will return.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel in great area."
The hotel was very clean and the room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful at all times of the day and night. Access to the nearby health club helped soothe my fear of running in an unfamiliar neighborhood. The surrounding area has good restaurants and has a young, hip feel to it. I enjoyed my stay very much.Genuine Expedia guest review
There were ants in the bathroom and the car we drove was broken into in the hotel parking lot.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Overrated and Overpriced"
During the afternoons the hotel was in complete chaos as the cleaning staff was talking loudly and blocking hallways and exits with their bulky carts. During the afternoon and early morning hours (5am!) children were running back and forth down the halls. The loud television noise from adjoining rooms was disruptive much of the time. In the main the […] staff tended to guest needs but was quite unprofessional. In one instance a staffer asked if a cup in the lunch room belonged to us. When I replied "yes, my wife brought it down from the room". She then said "Well, you have to take it back" and slammed the cup down on the table. The hotel seems content with its "funky" image (eclectic to the point of strange in in its decor). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel in a great neighbourhood"
A small boutique hotel with very hip colors and design. Our room was quite large with a full kitchen, much like a studio apartment. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is a nice mix of residential, shops, cafes and restaurants. We ate in three restaurants within walking distance and they were all excellent. The hotel provides free streetcars passes […] and the stop is right outside the door. A fun, easy ride to the downtown core. Will definitely come back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"You MUST stay here when in Portland!"
It was never a question for us...we wanted to be near downtown Portland but NOT 'in' downtown! When The Inn at Northrup Station appeared with so many positive reviews, I had to book our 2 night stay with them. Once we arrived, we were struck by the hip and cool look of the building, the fantastic, vibrant colors of the interior, the beautiful king-size […] bed and ample amount of room in our suite. The front-desk staff was so helpful with suggestions for dining, shopping, directions, and don't forget the complimentary streetcar tickets. The complimentary breakfast was full of 'the usual' offerings, but, certainly ample. There was even a Keurig coffeemaker in the room..what a nice surprise! Now, not everything could be perfect, so only one minor comment re: the bathroom...it was handicap accessible, which is a huge positive, but we were not in need of the shower seat/bench, so that kind of got in the way...believe me, we worked around it! Also, since the shower was handicap-accessible, the water got EVERYWHERE!! (Thank goodness they supplied plenty of towels..took care of that minor problem without difficulty!) We would stay again without question! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We loved this hotel, the employees were very kind and helpful. The taffy and candy was a great touch. Breakfast was delicious. The room was fun, decorated with bright colors, the bed was a dream. I was pleasantly surprised to see a dish washer, sink, dishes, refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker, two TVs, couch and chair. They also offered complimentary […] street car passes to get around downtown area. OVerall great experience and very satisfied with our stay, We will stay there again. "Quirky Hotel in Great Neighborhood"
The Inn is colorful to the extreme--bright orange, purple, yellow and lime, among others, are splashed everywhere, making it quite playful in feel. The corridors are long and jazzy. My room/suite reminded me of a cool college dorm. In addition to a king bed, I had a sofa and comfortable chair, two flat screen tv's, a kitcheonette and balcony. Altogether […] quite large. The bathroom was small but adequate. Shower rod was askew so curtain slid to center from both ends. Coffee pot did not work and there were a number of small ants, both in my room and breakfast room., Perhaps due to the excessive rain. Breakfast was very nice and plentiful. I was surprised with Happy Hour and lovely hors 'doubted, including steamed shrimp, on Wednesday (only). It was delightful and well attended. I would recommend and stay there again. I have to say, I hadn't expected to like this hotel as much as I did! We chose this hotel for it's NW location and that we could sleep 3 adults (pull out couch) comfortably without jumping up to a $300+ a night suite at some of the other hip hotels. This one had good reviews and looked fun albeit kitchy. The location can't be beat for all the City of […] Portland has to offer... easy access to almost anywhere, and the room was HUGE! Yes, the colors are bright, but I thought they were a bit more subdued than in the pics. There was a lot of seating as well, which was nice when a few friends came to meet us before dinner. I thought the bed was very comfortable and I'm a Temperpedic snob. There were tons of pillows on the bed and a duvet cover, which I love. It was pouring rain for our weekend, so we didn't use the balcony, but it was nice and quite roomy. The kitchen is very nice too, with all the basics, keurig coffee maker and a full size fridge. The breakfast was great, yogurts, fruit, cereal, waffles, etc. Would stay here again and would highly recommend it!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel, easy access to the streetcar."
What a great surprise to find a kitchenette and balcony overlooking the street. everything was situated nicely providing comfort and space. It was nice to step from the hotel and board the streetcar to take us through downtown. Also nice for the hotel to provide passes even though no one checked. The transit system in Portland is wonderful. We did not […] rent a vehicle until the last day, and only spent $10 for public transportation the entire 3 days. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good location, a bit noisy"
I enjoyed my stay here for the most part. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good neighborhood in walking distance (or take the streetcar) to get to all sorts of downtown locations. It was too noisy for a restful night though. The streetcar runs until late and starts up again early in the morning and I could hear it while trying to sleep. The soundproofing […] isn't that great and you can hear your "neighbors" occasionally. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Terrific place to stay in Portland"
We stayed for 5 nights at the Inn, and it was a very pleasant experience overall. The rooms are large, with full mini-kitchens, in a wild rainbow of color. The beds are ridiculously comfortable, and the window AC allows you to have the room at the temp you want. Parking tends to fill up in the later afternoon, and if you leave in the evening, it is […] unlikely that you will have an off-street spot when you return. Luckily the one time this happened to us, we did find a close by spot on the street. The continental breakfast is quite good, and makes a good start to the morning if you want something quick before you head out. Our room was on the side of the hotel away from Northrup, and on the second floor. It was very peaceful and quiet. There is one thing that was a small annoyance. They have cards that you stick in the key card slot that state "Leave me alone" or "Ready for Rosie" (to indicate that you would like a service). To me, when you indicate you want a service, this should be observed by the housekeeping staff, and your room should be spruced up as soon as possible. Twice we had the card in the slot when we left in the morning, only to return 5-6 hours later and find that our room still hadn't been tidied up. This was the only issue with our stay. As long as you have a sense of fun, and don't mind very bright colors, the Inn at Northrup Station is a great place to stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Descent ambience but noisy"
Very noisy at night, seems like the floors, walls are very thin. We heard lots of noise all night long from the next floor up. Could also hear the floor above on the ground level.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Loved Portland and this hotel is wonderful. The rooms are comfortable and large. There is a balcony that you can sit outside and visit. Highly recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great gem in a great neighborhood"
The hotel is decorated with bright colors and modern furniture. I believe the third floor are the superior rooms and come with a small kitchenette. We were on the third floor and surprised by the size of our room. The room was clean and housekeeping did a great job in cleaning the rooms.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Best Hotel For a Family Vacation!"
I loved everything about this hotel. I suppose the only thing missing was a pool but it's Portland so that's not really important. Loved the location, service and the taffy. I'll warn you though...your kids will bug the crud out of you about the taffy because they want more and more. Not the worse problem to have on an awesome trip! I can't wait to […] visit again. "Convenient and friendly."
We had a 2 night stay in Portland, but wish we could have stayed longer. The Inn had an upbeat feel, due in part to the brightly coloered walls, but also to the very helpful staff. The room was spacious and the morning breakfast was very good. The downtown trolley stop is adjacent to the Inn, whihc made access to the city very convenient.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Met the reviews"
The hotel matched what the reviews said - fun colors, good location right on the street car line (and the free daily vouchers for the street car was a nice bonus), good food in the neighborhood, clean, and breakfast did the trick.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"When can we go back??"
We loved the Inn at Northrup Station. The rooms were great and the staff was wonderful. Our hats off to Manuel, Rico and Illana. They were always helpful and had time for us. They gave us good advice and helped us plan our day trips. I was not feeling great so did not go to LA Fitness (not that I had the time!) I look forward to planning a future trip […] to this hotel! "Passing through Portland"
We were heading to the Oregon coast and had to overnight in Portland. I had stayed in the hotel 10 years ago on business and remembered it as a good, comfortable and very convenient place. My memory did not fail me. Great people, bedding was super, room was clean. The area (Alphabet District) is fun, great restaurants. Paley's place was great, Wildwood […] also near by. For fun, if you have time, the light rail stops in front of the hotel, giving car free access to downtown. I'd stay there again. Stan Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great location for an active family"
We recently stayed with our two daughters. We stayed in room 104, immediately adjacent to the lobby. It was surprisingly quiet and definitely convenient for the breakfast and other offerings in the lobby. The kitchen was clean and seemed well stocked, but I will admit we ate out for lunch and dinner. The neighborhood is great. Easy walking to many restaurants […] and shopping, a streetcar stop in front of the hotel and the proximity to other attractions like the Japanese Garden and the river made this a great place to stay for our family. We brought our daughters' scooters and got around easily. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A great Hotel"
Everything about this hotel was terrific. The front desk people were friendly and knowledgeable . The location was great. Did not need a car due to the fact the streetcar stopped so close to the hotel. The room was large and comfortable and the breakfast was first rate. I recommend it highly.Genuine Expedia guest review
We loved this place!! It's a wonderful change from your run of the mill "airport hotel". We were able to walk to a wonderful dinner. We took a delicious breakfast up to the roof patio. Not a single disappointment. Everything was great. We'll definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
We stayed at the Inn at Northrup from 7/9/2013 - 7/12/2013. The hotel has a great vibe, is maintained very well, and the staff, for the most part, is helpful and kind. One or two of the associates had that "hipper than thou" vibe, but I suppose that is to be expected in Portland. Our room, a King Suite, was full of amenities and very comfortable. Unfortunately, […] we were in the room nearest the lobby and breakfast area. I suppose someone has to be though. The free breakfast is a treat, but they could stand to put some more food out so everyone has a good selection. The location is great - the commercial area on NW 23rd street (2 blocks from hotel) is awesome. Public transportation makes it easy to get to the other parts of Portland on your agenda. Overall, a great place with a few minor flaws. I would definitely stay here again when returning to Portland. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Wonderful hotel on the North/South streetcar line."
The location in an agreeable neighborhood with the streetcar to town a few steps away. The hotel itself is brightly, boldly painted. The room was very comfortable with small, well supplied kitchen. We will definitely book again when a trip to Portland is indicated.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice, spacious room. A little noise from the guests in the next room, but overall it was great. The location is great if you want to be in the city but out of the city center.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable place to stay"
I wish the price was a little lower but for comfort and location it is definitely a great place to stay. The front desk staff was very courteous, stored our bags after we checked out, and helped us find a cab when the train to the airport was delayed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very nice and great location"
I stayed here with friends for 2 nights. The location was great and the free parking made it very convenient. The room was spacious and easily fit the three of us. I slept on the sleeper sofa which was very comfortable. We didn't use the kitchen much, but it was nice to have a refrigerator handy. The room was bright, cheerful, and very clean. "Close to Downtown"
Needed a room in the Alphabet District to be close to family. One of my grown daughters said the hotel looks like it was decorated by The Mad Hatter. I think the decor is fun, albeit a bit loud. The continental breakfast is very good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Coolest American Hotel I've Ever Stayed In"
I loved this place. It is, as the name implies, right on the streetcar line. The decor is amazing -- the walls in my room were green, lavender, and purple; the couch hot pink. The kitchenette was really more of a proper kitchen, granite countertops and all. The only thing I wish I'd had that I didn't was a tub -- I was apparently in a handicapped-accessible […] suite -- but the double showerheads made up for that! The staff were great, and sitting in the lobby that made me think of a high-end ice cream shop was fun (also, there's candy on the tables, and fruit, water, and hot drinks available on the counter).
