1st} Parking in the attached garage is not validated it's an additional $13.00 per day & the parking ticket must be given to the front desk at "check-in". "Nice City Hotel"
We were at the hotel on a weekend for a nearby memorial service. Even though the hotel was full and undergoing the remodeling of some main floor areas, things ran smoothly. The staff was friendly and helpfull and the room upscale with a high ceiling, comfortable furniture, and a nice bathroom. "It Doesn't Matter if you have a reservation..."
Well, can't actually answer that as we never stayed. After calling to confirm I had a reservation the week before we arrived, I was told by the check in clerk, Charlene, that they had "changed" computer systems the day before and there was no reservation for me. I told her that I had called and they confirmed they had one. She just stared at me and […] even with my confirmation number it didn't make a difference. They were completely booked.... no room at the inn. I heard that Wydham took it over the day before and "released" rooms that were not available. I am going to deal with them later as well as Hotels.com. So, at 9:15 PM at night in downtown Trenton we had no place to stay so we could attend the Special Olympics at TCNJ my son was involved in. We ended up driving north on Route 31 and staying in Flemington. We had stayed there for two years already but I will pitch a tent before I ever stay there again. No bar. No compensation offered by hotel. Aside from one unpleasant check in person, the people were incredibly nice and very professional working in Awful conditions. Also, their reservation system had overbooked the hotel and I watched people who had made reservations being turned away. The two hotel software systems weren't coordinated. I was there on an emergency visit, as my grandfather was transported to a near by hospital. It was very close to food places and the hospital, The city is pretty historic. The place has potential that it clearly isn't living up to yet. The morning front desk staff didn't warn me that the kitchen no longer served food. Except for full Breakfast, there was nothing else, where there were signs for all three meals everywhere. Wouldn't be bad if there were any restaurants open on a Saturday afternoon within walking distance, […] which is not very far in Trenton NJ. The hotel is still listed everywhere including the GPS as the Marriot, although it's under new management with a different name. It was a ghost town, yet I could hear more than I ever wanted to coming from the patrons next door overnight. For the next several months, take the blurbs in Expedia or on their website with a large grain of salt.
