"la quinta couer d alene"
The room looked clean but smelled of old cigarette smoke. The sheets had stains on them. :( The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel staff was effecient and attentive when problems arose with the plumbing in out room. Overall, the hotel was clean and the location felt safe. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have ever seen.Genuine Expedia guest review

"excellent non-resort hotel in Coeur d'Alene"
Fantastic location near the lake/freeway, clean, super staff, nice pool (24 hour!), great parking, well-lighted, nice neighborhood, we will DEFINITELY stay again! Drawbacks: (1) Hotel was overbooked so they upgraded us for free to a jacuzzi suite---very good BUT the room did not have the features we booked for: sofa bed for our son, desk, stovetop, […] dishwasher although it DID have a frig/nuke. When we talked to the front desk, the clerk was very helpful and got a rollaway into our room in less than five minutes. (2) The room was under the stairs and a herd of preteens ran the stairs to and from the 24/7 pool ALL night long, stomping and yelling the whole way. (3) Someone in a neighboring jacuzzi room fired up their jacuzzi at 5:30 a.m. the next morning so we didn't get much sleep. (4) Yes, there is complimentary breakfast but we'll go out next time--they ran out of milk, hot water, and the good muffins and it was a looooong wait for the refills; this is the buffet that doesn't have eggs, etc., so it's free but it's nothing fancy. (5) calling it a fitness room is stretching it: there was a problematic treadmill--missing buttons--and a stairmaster and that's it. (6) we were downstairs and there's no elevator. So, as long as you don't go there with extremely high expectations, it was a wonderful hotel. It's definitely no-frills but it appears to be the best non-resort hotel in C d'A (several friends who live in the area recommended it as well). We do plan to return and we'll be quite happy because we know exactly what we're getting and it's definitely very convenient and a fantastic price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for price"
Our room was very roomy, clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was very professional and helpful. The indoor pool is open 24 hours so you can swim anytime. The hotel location is with in walking distance of everything you need. Would recommend this hotel to friends, and we will stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Little known secret"
Nice safe clean place to stay . across the street from Micheal D's the only place for Breakfast in Coeur d' Alene it should be on " Diners Drive ins and Dives" Stayed at this property maybe 20 times since 2005 all good but walk across the street for real breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A few problems"
This hotel has a good location and the grounds and hotel are well kept. We were in a room in the basement of this hotel that was to say the least dated. We stayed for 3 nights and didn't receive any shampoo or soap until our last night. The maids left the door open on one occasion leaving our possessions open to theft. We informed the front desk and […] were told they leave the doors open so the maids can deliver the towels our towels were already supplied. We also had trouble with the electronic keys having to have them reset, as they quit working. The hotel needs a major face lift it's old and tired but is still well kept. Overall a fair experience for the amount paid. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Well infomed, friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay and were happy with the cleanliness of the room. Would stay again in the future.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Quiet clean hotel"
The hotel was clean and well kept. I felt it needed an update for the amount that was charged for a room, however. The breakfast was pretty good and had a large variety of food to choose from.Genuine Expedia guest review

The hotel was comfortable but certainly not luxurious.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Less than stellar"
The smell of chlorine was pervasive throughout the hotel from the pool. The bedding was inferior to any hotel we've stayed at - old/worn and poorly made up. Noise from the halls very disturbing. Mold/mildew on window sill.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Great Hotel at a Great Price!"
Based on my recent stays at other hotels I did not have high expectations for a hotel in this price range so I was very pleasantly surprised at the high level of service, cleanliness and quality. The room was fairly typical but it was well maintained and the bed was very comfortable. And a free breakfast is always a nice bonus!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great for people with pets"
We appreciated our stay very much; the room was clean and we had all amenities we needed. We most appreciated that our dogs were welcome with us at no additional cost. We will come back for sure. Thank you.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was very nice, enjoyed the pool, nice quiet neighourhood. I would suggest you include a gluten-free option in your breakfast, even if it is just rice cakes.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
1, When we arrived (4 Adults) we were delighted to know that the pool was open 24 hours. We went to the pool around 10:00pm, when all the young kids were gone, and we had a great time. 2. The Beds were really comfortable!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

My wife and I picked this hotel because we expected it to have a strong internet connection, and she had a lot of work to catch up on. We were not disappointed. The room itself was good, with good lighting. It was clean and comfortable. There was no elevator, but this was not a problem for us. The free breakfast did not attempt to do hot food, apart from make your own toast and waffles, which I think was just as well. The grounds were pretty, with some trees and shade.
"Disgusting, TURN AROUND NOW"
I recently stayed here with my family and had a horrible stay. We got a room on the second floor, with a two weeks worth of luggage, the stairs were an unpleasant sight. We walked into an outdated room. After removing our shoes, we noticed the floor was wet, we then discovered what appeared to be boogers and blood on the wall, disgusting! The nice gentleman at the front desk moved us into a new room, which was perfect until we noticed one bed had a humongous dip in it. We then called the front desk and the gentleman switched the bed from the old room with this one. To sum it up: good service, crappy room. I do like to stay at La Quintas, but I will NEVER stay at this location again. Needs a deep cleaning, my advice to you is to just go elsewhere.
"Traveling home from our week long trip to Glacier"
The hotel was clean and well maintained. It is right off the interstate and easy to find. Plus close to the lake, down town restaurants and shops. The staff was helpful providing us a first floor room since my husband hurt his leg just before our trip. They also helped us find things to do that would be easy for him with his hurt leg to get around to do in town. I would stay here again if I come through town definitely..
"Sh** Hole :)"
The second we walked into our room, we didn't find it to be so bad until we found cleaning equipment left behind. The handle to the bathroom was broken so you had to have someone open it from the outside. Not to mention there were used cigarettes crammed into the top of the the dresser. The room itself reaked of old perfume, ammonia ( cleaner ), old cigarettes and had a musty hint to it as we'll. We went to the front desk to ask for them to fix the handle, and they said they would get around to it sometime in the morning (thanks... That's great), meanwhile not apologizing in the least for the cigarettes, and cleaning equipment left behind. Next we tried out the "heated" pool, which had very foggy water and was very cold, and had some odd chunky things in it? As we left the pool another customer was complaining about how run down there room and the place overall was. We'll you get the point, I'm going to be blunt here and simply describe it as a Sh** Hole. :)

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Our room wasn't just filthy, it wreaked of urine, stale smoke, musty odor and a douse of perfume so strong that we wanted to leave immediately, however, all other hotels were booked and we just needed one night. No other rooms at La Quinta were available. The floor appeared damp. I was very worried to sleep on the beds. I am not sure the sheets were cleaned because pulling out the sofa bed indicated that sheets were wrinkle in places it shouldn't have been. Pillows were flat. The TV was small old and staticky. There was oily perfume grease on the desk chair so bad that I used a wet towel to clean it. The dirt that came off made me want to vomit. To try and improve the experience, we went to the pool to play with our kids. Mistake. Unsupervised rude kids were running around with drunk people in the corner. My daughter couldn't wait to take a shower because she said she thought urine was in the spa. Two men hung out for hours in the lobby with pizza boxes that were associated with the rude kids in the pool. We thought maybe the desk lady was letting them use the pool without being guests. The walls are so thin, you can hear folks showering above as it they were in the room. For the amount of money we paid, I would have expected at least a clean room.
For the amount of money I paid for the room $179. It sucked. We just left a beautiful hotel in Cranbrook and paid $150 there and we got a roll away. This place was dirty, old, run down. The pool was murky and full of chunks of something. The rooms stank of must. The carpets weren't vacuumed. The beds were lumpy the pillows flat. We tried and tried to find somewhere else to stay but to no avail. My husband slept above the sheets. The roll away that I paid an extra $10 for was ripped and flat and dipped in the middle. This place sucks.
"A basic room with breakfast"

We needed a place to sleep for a couple of nights while we visited Silverwood, and wanted a good, basic hotel to rest our heads. We got that with the La Quinta East, but there were enough concerns that we'll be looking elsewhere on our next visit to Coeur d'Alene. We noticed a couple of issues upon arrival that didn't sit well with us: first, there was a wet spot on the carpet near the kitchen area, and some yellowish liquid in the garbage can nearby. We didn't have a black light with us to determine whether the spot was of human origin, so we pretended it was Gatorade. Oddly, the garbage can had not been emptied the next day, and the yellowish liquid remained. Second, we always do a bed bug check in every hotel room we stay in, before bringing in the luggage. This typically involves looking under the mattress in the seams of the box spring for the telltale signs of bed bugs. While the beds were OK (we would have immediately left had they not been), the mattress and bed skirt tucked into it were filthy--they clearly hadn't been cleaned in some time. The beds themselves were comfortable, and the shower big enough, but the third issue we noticed was there wasn't any soap provided either by the sink or in the bathtub. Since we brought some with us, we used our own bar, and assumed that housekeeping would leave some for us the next day...but they didn't. I found a bar in the hallway on our way to the park the next morning (presumably having fallen from a housekeeping cart), and stashed it to pick up upon our return. Our daughter enjoyed the pool area, and we were fortunate enough to grab the last two towels upon arrival. Not sure what the guests who visited after us did, perhaps walk back soaking wet to their rooms? Breakfast was what we expected, breads and pastries, cold cereal, oatmeal, coffee/tea/juice, and the flip-it-yourself waffle makers, which my wife and daughter love. I would have liked to see some bananas among the scant selection of fruit. We don't need a lot to get us going in the morning, so the food met our needs. Even with the AAA rate, our room was still $180 per night including the taxes. We expect more from a 2-3 star hotel in Coeur d'Alene, and will look into staying in Sandpoint for future visits to the area.

did not like the location of hotel. not in the best area. rooms need a serious update. food needed to be more variety. prices too high for what we stayed in. this review is way too long and redundant and would not do a survey again because it is too long and redundant.

Beautiful setting with trees all around. Staff was friendly and helpful and rooms were nicely decorated and very clean and comfortable. The hot cookies in the evening were delicious and a big hit with the grand children!

You'll need help hauling luggage as there are no carts. Reaching the hair dryer nearly required me to climb on the sink! The shower wand didn't work; good thing I could climb in and out of the tub (and didn't slip, due to lack of mat)
