"Close to nothing at all."
For being a no smoking hotel - it smelled horrid. The coffee pot didn't work and the breakfast was way over-rated for being a deluxe breakfast. We asked to be moved to a new room and they were not accomodating at all. The smoke smell was horrible!!!!! Over all not impressed will not stay here again!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was nice, room was clean, hotel staff courteous, continental breakfast was very good. Easy proximity to freeway, but rooms very quiet. Nice indoor pool, but did not have time to use as spend most of our time at Silverwood. Fan in bathroom was very loud and probably could be replaced. Could use a little updating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"4th of July Celebration"
We stayed in CDA from Spokane for the 4th of July fireworks. Very clean room, hotel, and swimming pool. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Enjoyed the swimming pool and HOT tub. The breakfast was better than what other people have said--had everything we needed. Enjoyed our stay!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Irritated in Idaho!"
Drapes were broken and remote fro TV was also broken. Staff in the evening not able to correct the problem.Genuine Expedia guest review
Our room was a jacuzzi suite, with a king size bed. It was very clean, but the room was small with no counter space for luggage, or a place for my wife to get ready, except the sink area. The bed was ok but the pillows were not very comfortable. I would stay again, but for the price it wasn't a great dealGenuine Expedia guest review

It's a very nice hotel. We've stayed there many times over the past 10 years.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A tale of 2 La Quinta's"
Great hotel at price... both of them. When I booked I didn't realize there are 2 LaQuinta's in Coeur d'Alene. We were going with a group and ended up in the "other" one although we liked it best.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"la quinta couer d alene"
The room looked clean but smelled of old cigarette smoke. The sheets had stains on them. :( The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel staff was effecient and attentive when problems arose with the plumbing in out room. Overall, the hotel was clean and the location felt safe. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have ever seen.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A few problems"
This hotel has a good location and the grounds and hotel are well kept. We were in a room in the basement of this hotel that was to say the least dated. We stayed for 3 nights and didn't receive any shampoo or soap until our last night. The maids left the door open on one occasion leaving our possessions open to theft. We informed the front desk and […] were told they leave the doors open so the maids can deliver the towels our towels were already supplied. We also had trouble with the electronic keys having to have them reset, as they quit working. The hotel needs a major face lift it's old and tired but is still well kept. Overall a fair experience for the amount paid. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dirty smelly hotel"
If you require to speak to front desk, you will have to step out front door and speak to persons while they smoke.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice and clean"
Well infomed, friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay and were happy with the cleanliness of the room. Would stay again in the future.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Quiet clean hotel"
The hotel was clean and well kept. I felt it needed an update for the amount that was charged for a room, however. The breakfast was pretty good and had a large variety of food to choose from.Genuine Expedia guest review

The hotel was comfortable but certainly not luxurious.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Less than stellar"
The smell of chlorine was pervasive throughout the hotel from the pool. The bedding was inferior to any hotel we've stayed at - old/worn and poorly made up. Noise from the halls very disturbing. Mold/mildew on window sill.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Great Hotel at a Great Price!"
Based on my recent stays at other hotels I did not have high expectations for a hotel in this price range so I was very pleasantly surprised at the high level of service, cleanliness and quality. The room was fairly typical but it was well maintained and the bed was very comfortable. And a free breakfast is always a nice bonus!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great for people with pets"
We appreciated our stay very much; the room was clean and we had all amenities we needed. We most appreciated that our dogs were welcome with us at no additional cost. We will come back for sure. Thank you.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was very nice, enjoyed the pool, nice quiet neighourhood. I would suggest you include a gluten-free option in your breakfast, even if it is just rice cakes.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
1, When we arrived (4 Adults) we were delighted to know that the pool was open 24 hours. We went to the pool around 10:00pm, when all the young kids were gone, and we had a great time. 2. The Beds were really comfortable!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Pluses: Located on Sherman Ave, a little out of the way of the main city area, but plus is that it's quieter and close to the lake with its gorgeous views. By car it's still convenient --only 5-10min from everything in the city. Indoor pool with heated pool house; it's also not used that often so you can often have the entire pool to yourself for a swim. Most rooms were average, but Room 222 was very good: Has a real kitchenette with dishes/silverware/dishwasher/sink as opposed to other rooms with only microwave/fridge (though the bath tub/shower is very slow draining and this needs to be fixed). Staff are usually very accommodating to your needs. Breakfast variety pretty good; pastries/bread/waffle makers etc; coffee available all day and night. Minuses: Staff are sometimes are to find; not all the phones work well and sometimes I had to just walk to lobby instead. The furnishings/carpeting in the rooms sometimes just feels a bit bare or worn; rooms are clean, just a bit old-feeling. More bath supplies/toiletries would be good. One of the stays I had in a room next to a room where the guests had a dog; the rooms were not very noise-proof and was harder to sleep (the surrounding area though is very calm and quiet).
"Disappointed in cleanliness standard"
12/06/14 gmarkk54 Creston, Canada
We stayed in one of their highest priced rooms for two nights. The first night we noticed garbage under the bed (old popcorn, grapes etc.) We made the desk clerk aware of the fact; she apologized and we assumed it would be taken care of. When we were out the next day, they made up the room and the garbage was still under the bed when we returned. Breakfast was fairly basic. No "do not disturb" sign available in the room. Water running in next guest room was extremely noisy.
"good place for the price"

This was a stopping point for us after a long day of travel. We picked this place due to price since Spokane was a few more miles away and about $30 more. We had no complaints at all, the room was clean and the place was quiet. The staff was super friendly as well.
"Same fine place"

We have been making regular family visits to Coeur d'Alene for over five years now, and always stayed at La Quinta on Sherman Ave. It's convenient. It avoids the nuisance of a lot of exterior lighting, so its always restful. The staff has been cheerful and helpful.
"Third time was still a charm"

I have traveled to Coeur d'Alene for the last 4 years. My trips are usually late October or early November. Three of the last four years I have stayed at this La Quinta on Sherman Avenue. The one time I didn't stay at this La Quinta I stayed at the Coeur d'Alene Resort. I visit Coeur d'Alene to attend a conference that's located at the resort. I have always had a very good experience at the La Quinta on Sherman Avenue. I learned the manager's name two years ago so I call and talk to her when I make my reservations. I start off telling her I have stayed there X number of times (this year was 3) followed by telling her what my needs are this year. The General Manager's name is Karen Laramie. Try calling her and tell her Alan from Texas says howdy. I she might not remember my name but the important thing is I remember hers. She put me in a great room with a good rate this year. The property is safe, clean and the staff is friendly. There is a complementary breakfast each morning and fresh baked cookies in the evening. I think there is coffee available all day in the lobby. There is also an indoor swimming pool. I usually check out the places that I know I will be staying at online but when I make my reservations I make then on the telephone to the person at the property where I will be staying. I prefer the human interaction. I find it best to call during regular business hours Monday through Friday. After the manager has told you the nightly rate be polite and don't be afraid to ask if there is better rate available for you.
"Not a great stay"
11/06/14 Merrilee O Seattle, United States
The side tables were dirty with sticky glass rings and not cleaned the next day, the dark carpet had food debris on it and not cleaned the next day either, there was no shower curtain, I was issued a second key the next day and it asked for ID or proof of my identity. I needed to fax ASAP and the staff did not know how to use the equipment and it had a paper error. I had to find someone to get coffee for the breakfast room, the verticle blinds were missing some slats which affected my privacy

The hotel is a little tired but very clean and the staff was very nice. Our room had a refrig, dishwasher and plates and eating utensiles but that means harder for the hotel to keep a head of the food problems, such as food splashes on a picture and sticky places.

I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and jetted tub :) I have stayed at every hotel in CDA that offers jetted tubs/jacuzzis and this one is one of the best. "Best dog friendly anywhere"
10/22/14 Killians_10 Knoxville, Tennessee
La Quinta is the best if you travel with your dog. They treat our dog as a guest rather than a painful pest. I have never smelled any animal odor in any La Quinta anywhere. We stay here anywhere they are available. We travel between Everett, WA and Knoxville, TN twice a year by car traveling the most scenic new off the beaten path route we can map. We really enjoy finding La Quinta along the way.
"A Nice Return Stay"
10/19/14 CamanoCarl Camano Island, Washington
My wife and I stayed at this property for the first time a year ago when the leaves in the parking lot and courtyard were brilliantly colorful. This year, we were a week early, the colors were not quite mature, but the visit was as delightful as it was last year. The front desk and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful for every request. The location was convenient for our planned return visit to a nearby restaurant. The bed and room was quite comfortable and gave us a nice night's rest. Everything in the room was in working condition. WiFi and Internet worked just fine for our eMail and other information needs. At breakfast, other guests were friendly which we feel reflects their contentment with their stay. The breakfast was neither Spartan nor splendiferous, but adequate. For convenience to the I-90, you can't beat it locally. We hope to return next year.
