This hotel is on the Damrak, but the room was very quiet. Convenient for Amsterdam-Centraal train station. Very close to the train station and was close to my client, so was convenient. Room was clean. Was given a top floor room which had some nice views, but elevator only went to 6, and I was on 7, so had to climb an unfinished steep staircase. It was not particularly cold out, but the heat was insufficient, even once a staff person came to adjust. Bathroom […] was barebones and cold as well, and had no shower curtain, no face cloths, and toilet paper was on a high shelf behind the toilet. Decor was artsy, minimalist Ikea and bare painted cement floors, no carpeting. There are no food services in the hotel, although there are plenty of quick places around. The staff were quick to respond to requests and were able to loan me an appropriate plug for my laptop. There is no ice to be had. Only amenity was a coffee maker, bathrobe and safe. Felt it was pricey for what I had and to be uncomfortable at the rates I paid. I do know that that the location boosts the rates, and it is very convenient to the station. Read more

My wife and I stayed here 3 nights in Oct, 2012. It's a very short walk from Centraal Station. It doesn't have much street presence - you could easily miss it. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The room had been updated recently and everything seemed fresh and new. There was a window which looked out on a solid wall. It was very quiet despite being in a very busy area. Our room had a comfortable bed, was small and poorly lighted. Small...meaning we had about two feet clearance on both sides of the bed, and about 4 feet clearance a the foot of the bed and perhaps four feet clearance at the head of the bed.. no chair or desk or any other furniture in the room... just the bed in the middle and enough space on all four […] sides to walk. Poorly lighted meaning.. no lights in the room except two bare decorator bulbs hanging from gteh ceiling.. dim... could not read or even see clothing well enough to pick out navy or black or purple clothing... shower/bath on the wall at the head of the bed...small but functional and clean. the window opened - a good thing, the staff was friendly and helpful. The best part of this hotel is its location--Right near Central Station. The room was very clean. Upon returning to our room after sightseeing and needing to use the bathroom badly (don't like to use public toilets), the key card would not open our room. We desperately tried to use the key without success. We saw a young man who works for the hotel […] in the hallway who informed us that sometimes they cancel the key an hour before checkout time. We were appalled and went downstairs to ask why we had been locked out. The female receptionist very perfunctorily and matter- of -factly told us that there was a problem with the programming of the keys. We stayed here for a couple nights on our honeymoon. The location is perfect for a couple nights fun in Amsterdam. 5 mins from the train station and just outside the redlight district. The hotel entrance is literally just a door. We passed it on our first time. The room was small even by European standards. Amazing location, can't be beat. 5-minute walk from Centraal Station and close to everything you'd want to walk to in the city. The location and price are good. That is about it. Our room was so small that the bathroom door only opened partway before it hit the bed. There was a flimsy desk and chair, but no other furniture. The hotel was extremely difficult to find, since the entrance is a virtually unmarked door between a doner kebab house and a cafe. However, located in the heart of tourist central -- in the future i'll stay in another part of town outsize the tourist zone (hotel very convenient to c. station, redlight district and overall very centrally located). Room was so small (thank goodness I had one of only rooms with outdoor balcony) that only a queen […] bed fit with about a foot of space on 2 sides of the bed. Bathroom almost as large as bedroom (and not large). Was quiet sleeping (interior rooms) and the hotel staff super-nice and helpful. Loved the pristine, white, fluffy comforters and pillows, but they should provide a mess-proof throw blanket at the foot of the bed, so you can throw your bags on it without worrying about marking up the whiteness. They were very diligent about providing clean towels, even when we didn't want them, but I wish they had provided washcloths and hand towels instead of just big towels, though they were exceptionally clean and fluffy. Excellent value for a budget hotel. Very convenient location with lots of nearby food and activities; great for when you're tired after a long day of sightseeing and just want to crash in your room. They let us store things in their refrigerator overnight, which was convenient. The room decor was eccentric, but the overall place was chic, cheerful and airy.
