The hotel is located on the fringe of Madison along a service road that goes by a dump. It is close to the casino. The hotel is old and needs updating. The room was OK. It was small but clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointment After 500 Miles"
The hotel clerk was the nicest part of our visit. He was a delight to talk with, friendly and helpful, despite the fact that the hotel was full that evening. The price of the room was no where near the quality that I have come to expect of any hotel chain. The bathroom was basic. Mold in the shower stall, dust on the desktop, mattresses were OK, but […] sheets were thin, pillows almost as thin. Breakfast OK. I work in the hospitality industry, and this place and all of its sister hotels will be avoided in the future. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Breakfast was great. Hotel room was moderately clean - there were some stains in the shower floor and the toilet and a couple tiles missing in the tile floor in the bathroom. The carpets in the hall were filthy. Overall, hotel was old and drab, really needs freshening up. Also, right by the interstate so traffic noise for rooms on that side was a p […] roblem. "Overnight stay on 9/3/12"
Was very hard to find. Out in the country. Couldn't find with Tom Tom. No street address for the street it is on. Street address is a highway address. Basically a nice room. Nice bathroom, good mattress & TV. Older building. Good breakfast. Good rate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good night's sleep."
Room was fine, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very goodGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Never again !"
The shower was gross and had to put a towel on shower floor to stand on. It was noisey all night with people pounding on doors . And, the room smelled like smoke, even though it was suppose to be non-smoking. Did not go without wearing shoes in the room !!! The person at the desk was the only positive thing about this motel !!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfy beds, but not enough dining space"
One reason we chose this hotel was the rave reviews about the breakfast. Yes, the breakfast was very good...lots of choices including make your own omelets, waffles or pancakes, but there was not enough food or space to accommodate the crowd. They did try their best to keep everything stocked, but apparently weren't prepared to keep up with it. The […] lines for the various food stations wove through the few tables for seating. My daughter and I finally ate our breakfast outside by the pool. Our room was small and there was only a shower (no tub), which is fine for us but anybody with small children would have a problem. Also, the walls, floors and ceilings must be very thin, because we could hear every footstep above us and every noise on either side. The shower and sink were rusty and dingy. Also, the location is very hard to find. And yes, it is next to a landfill. The beds were comfortable, though, which is very important, and the staff was pleasant and courteous. "Cheap hotel and it showed."
The hotel was very difficult to access with poor signage on the frontage road. Guests were handed an old fashioned key to get into their room which did not work well in the lock. I found an old potato chip on the floor after the room was cleaned the first time that wasn't mine.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very friendly staff."
Our room was nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location is a bit tough to get to but for an economy hotel,it was nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good value for our dolloar. Please staff and clean comfortable room. Appreciated the fridge and microwave in room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Crappy motel not worth the money"
This hotel is cheap but should be cheaper considering the location and condition. It is way out of town, on a deadend street that goes to only this motel. There were people staying for long term, cars with broken windows in the lot, and very minimal service. It looks like people actually live there. The room facilities aren't bad but was not clean. […] I didn't feel comfortable barefoot in the room or the shower. Will not stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

old property that hasn't been updated. Located next to the city dump. Looks and feels like the hang out for the local meth community.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Location and condition sub-par, GREAT breakfast!"
The room was outdated, only had a shower, bed was clean though some of the corners of the room and bathroom were questionable. Still had key locks for doors. In the middle of nowhere, and awkward to access. However, the breakfast area had 2 waffle irons, a crepe griddle (for pancakes), another griddle for omeletes, a steam tray with biscuits, gravy, […] and potatoes, a cold bar with hard-boiled eggs and several types of cut fruit. Coffee was pretty bad, though. The room rate was well below most other discount hotels in and around Madison...so all things considered, if I needed a place close to (but not in) Madison on a budget again, I'd gladly stay here! "Not bad for next to the dump!"
If you want to save money, sleep good and eat well, this is the place. The staff is friendly. But it is old, run down, next to the dump, far outside of town and on the sketchy side. The bed is very comfortable and clean. The breakfast is unbelievable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Aweful and non compliant"
For my first time visiting Madison Wi. I was appalled by the lack of customer service at the America Best Value Inn in Madison. Upon arrival I did look at all the other reviews but didnt take any opinion being that I have never been to Madison before. When we arrived at the hotel it seemed packed with fisherman were all outside in the parking lot drinking […] beer and mingling around their boats. When checking in the smell of ammonia was over whelming in the reception area. When we got to the room it was even worse smelling like a hair salon. After having to walk back to the office to change keys because ours would not unlock our door that was old and needed to be replaced. The Front Desk suggested we just jiggle the door handle while turning the key. Once in the room we didnt have air conditioning just a fan on a 85 degree day. We then laid down for bed within two hours was itching from head to toe from something in the room. I looked prior to lying down for bed bugs but didnt see any. When telling the Front Desk about the problems he could only switch me rooms and offered no other help. When I asked for a refund on early check out he said he couldnt do that because i was only staying for one night. .... I was there for three hours. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to highway, great free breakfast, comfy bed"
The hotel itself is hard to find...watch your GPS!!! And it's fairly run down inside. But the bed was suprisingly clean and comfy and the free breakfast was shockingly stocked and delicious! Great hotel for the value and location. We just needed to sleep for the night before driving back to Chicago.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Bed was AMAZING> Air conditioning made a humming noise all night. Overall I would give this place a 4.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Okay stay, nice price"
Bare bones, basic accommodations. "Old fashioned" keyed doors, simple appointments, exposed plumbing on the bathroom sink, hairdryer did not work, couple of ants in bedroom/bathroom. Small wet spot on bed under pillow area. Fairly nice breakfast (as far as hotel breakfasts are concerned). For 1/2 the price of the alternative for a place to simply sleep […] and go early the next day, it was fine. If you are cheap like me, you can sleep here with your kid who has a sports tournament in Madison, and spend the evenings at their teammate's hotel to swim and hang out! "You get what you pay for."
I guess you pretty much get what you pay for. The room was about as expected but the staff were not very friendly at the breakfast buffet. We got there a couple minutes after they were closing it down but there was definitely food left that they were probably going to throw away. They acted like I was trying to steal some food or something. They weren't […] friendly and wouldn't even say 2 words to us. Most people would definitely ask you if you want some food before they take it down but they tried to get the food out in a hurry! It wasn't a bad experience overall, though it was kind of run down. Comfortable bed and lots of hot water. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great place to stay"
A bare bones, nothing fancy, great deal! For stopping just a night or 2 this is a great bargain. Breakfast was fantastic! Maybe not the newest hotel, but clean and pleasant, would definitely stay there again. Staff was very friendly & helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
We went and had breakfast there and most of it was cold(biscuits&gravy, sausages), the clerk did not speak english hardly at all, so she was very hard to understand.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good cheap business stay"
It was fine and the price was right. Had a microwave and fridge. It was on the far east side of Madison by itself, but was right off the road and close to the interstate. You would have to travel for any restaurants or gas. Beds were comfortable, and room clean. An older hotel, it still has the lock and key doors. Full breakfast looked liked it would […] be good, but we had to leave before it started (6:00 a.m.). Would stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"amazing value for the price!"
We had a nice clean room with a comfy bed and plenty of towels. Heater worked great. Breakfast was impressive for a hotel of this price. Waffles and pancakes with syrup or strawberries and cool whip, an omlet bar with great toppings. Plenty of fruit. Big cereal bar and yummy juice too! They went above and beyond to offer options! Great price. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. We came in late and the night staff was very polite. "luxury by the landfill"
ther is no surrounding neighborhood- you're off a highway and next to a landfill. But the room is clean and cheap and its very near madison and monona . It has the things a roadside motel should have an ice machine an a coke machine. its not gracious but its very inexpensive and not scary or dirty.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"America's Best Value Inn"
The room was clean, except for the carpet. The carpet really needed a good cleaning. And the upstairs neighbors were really noisy, but I think it's the walls and ceiling that are too thin. Once they were gone it was pretty quiet. They did have free wi-fi and that definately came in handy. They also had a free breakfast. I loved that the room had a mini […] fridge and a microwave. The location wasn't the best (it's located next to a city dump) but there was no unpleasant smell in the air, but there were a lot of birds. And the entrance was a bit confusing. But overall, it was a good room for a good price. We were satisfied. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"America's Best Value Inn - Madison, WI"
The price was right. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to simply have a descent bed and warm shower, this is your place. The rooms are very "sterile". The complimentary hot breakfast buffet was excellent - the BEST part of the stay. The surrounding area leaves a lot to be desired and finding the turn off from the highway might require one […] or two U-turns. The worst aspect is having to drive by a very aromatic landfill every time you leave or return to the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The room we stayed in had holes in the walls in the bathroom, which was filthy, Mold around the window. Baseboard heater rusted and dirty. Their breakfast area dirty and spilled food on the floor. Hallways are dark with burlap frames for whatever reason. Carpeting in the room was disgusting. The parking lot around the whole place filled with pot holes. "stay here only if you have your own car!"
Pros: cost, clean, easy access to hwy, loved all the pillows. Great place to stay if you have a car. Within 10-15 minutes of Madison. did not have the breakfast, but it did smell good! cons: had room next to access door (room 114), heard every door opening and closing. DO NOT stay here if you do not have a car, not accessable to any shopping.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
we choose this hotel primarily because they offered a free breakfast We were not informed when we checked in that the breakfast was done by 9 am. W So we missed out on that. Especially on weekends people are staying for pleasure and want to sleep in. Even 10 am would be more appropriatteGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good breakfast and pleasant place to sleep"
Hotel is not new, but is clean and well-maintained. It's a good place to sleep and take a shower between conducting business or visiting the local area. The included full breakfast was pleasantly good including biscuits, sausage gravy, link sausage, and fried potatoes as well as do-it-yourself pancakes and omelettes, plus cold cereal.Genuine Expedia guest review
have a refrigerator & a microwave in my room. I was surprised not to have a coffee maker in there also.Genuine Expedia guest review
We stayed overnight while in town for the Brad Paisley concert. The desk clerk was very pleasant. The room was fine. The only "complaint" we have is the shower knob is backwards. It needed to be turned to cold for hot water and vice versa. Otherwise everything else was up to par.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very convenient to where I had to work"
The staff was very pleasant and accomodating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a bit hard to find - I passed it once off the highway because I missed the sign. Downtown Madison is not far to the west, maybe 15 minutes. The hotel does share an entrance with the nearby landfill - but it must be well maintained because it didn't smell or bother us at all. They had plenty of hot food and variety, including fresh fruit, at breakfast […] (surprisingly, because there seemed to be about four rugby teams staying in the hotel that weekend). Room service did a great job and provided plenty of towels, washcloths, etc. without having to request them. The sheets were clean, the beds were comfortable. They rooms had only showers, no tubs. They did have a mini-fridge and microwave. There is an ipad for guest use in the lobby, which was cool, but as far as I know no computer. Free high-speed wireless in all the rooms (as advertised), and it was actually high speed. Definitely as much as I could have expected (perhaps more) for the price. I think it comes close to living up to its name. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"america's best value inn"
overall a respectable value. hot breakfast and 24 hr coffee was nice. Lobby / dining area had good tables and access to ipad. building itself old and rundown however management appeared to be trying to fix it up. service decent. room small and on the run down side but clearly had not been updated yet. shower drained very slowly, toilet didn't flush […] well. worst aspect was the location: very far out to east side of town and i had a full week of work with client way out on far west side. cell service in the room very poor, had to walk out to lobby or into parking lot to get signal. signage and directions off of highway to find it very poor (was foggy that night). "not worth saving a few bucks"
The only thing it has going for it is the breakfast which was one-of-a-kind for a hotel. The problem was that on a Sunday morning there were so many people trying to eat breakfast at the same time that getting access to the pancake or omelet skillets was next to impossible. The woman who checked us in (not sure if it was the owner) was very suspicious […] of us for no reason at all. After giving us our room # we went & parked & carried our stuff in, she met us by the door to our room & said "are you sure you don't have any pets?" "No, just a baby" was my response. It was clear there were many, many open rooms but she put us near the office, which was also near the pool & breakfast area. In hindsight I wish I would've asked to be moved, but the woman staffing was not very approachable. Therefore we got to listen to kids running the hallways and non-stop traffic. The hotel looks so rundown from the outside that it gives it a creepy feel. A little bit of sprucing up would go a LONG way! Spend a few more bucks & stay somewhere friendlier & nicer! "Ok for the price"
The staff was exteremly pleasant. The hotel lobby was dirty. The windows were spotty and there were cob webs everywhere. The hallyway wasn't much better.
