Room was big, clean and completely satisfactory. Did not need anything cute or cozy, just clean and cheap. In walking distance of the old town. Great value for just needing a place to sleep while you're enjoying the beautiful of Petit France!

There was so much noise (both from other guests and from the railway that is located VERY close to the hotel) that out of the three nights I stayed there, I only managed to get a proper sleep on the last night. Considering the low standard of the place, it ought to be a lot cheaper.

I like this place because it is near the train station (Place de la Gare) for the slow train from Brussels or the fast TGV. There is a decent restaurant nearby (Angel's) over the road, seven nights a week. There is also the Comptoir eatery, in the opposite direction, under the Ibis Hotel, cheap and cheerful. The hotel staff are generally OK, and the […] manager is very helpful if he recognises you as a regular, sensible fellow. it is handy to have a cooker and fridge in the room, but there is no kettle. You can always boil water on the stove in pan if you need a brew. I never have the breakfast, it is a little uninspiring. The wifi in the room is a strong signal, but I could not stay logged on for more than 30 seconds. Very odd. I did not have to pay the charge, so I did not complain. The rooms on the fourth floor are redecorated, so the I guess the whole place will be re-done in due course, it does need some work internally. It is clean and convenient, and the bus service is very handy into the city or to the tram lines, get the number 2 bus just over the road. Read more

The Appart'Hotel Victoria Garden was "adequate". The room was clean and a reasonable size. The location was very convenient to the center of town and to the train station and just a 15 minute walk to the old part of the city. If, though, you aren't rather tolerant of minor annoyances, put this low on your preferred list. The first room they sent me […] to wasn't made up and the room I ended up in had a non-functioning telephone (which they had already been aware of and which wasn't fixed during my five nights there). I paid 5 euros a day for a wireless connection, but most of the time I couldn't get a connection in my room and I had to go to the lobby for an adequate signal. The minuscule piece of soap in the room wasn't replaced by the maid during my stay and I had to go down to the desk to request a new "bar". (No "apology" from the desk.). In one experience at the front desk, two people who arrived there after me were taken care of first and I was "reprimanded" by the desk staff, when, after 10 minutes, I politely pointed out that I had been there before those two clients. The mattresses were, at best, "dorm room" quality. Light sleepers should be aware that you may be awaken rather early by the sound of trains on the nearby tracks. My room had a "kitchenette", but it was very poorly equipped. The only utensil available in which I could boil water was a skillet.. Speaking of hot water, one afternoon there was none. Read more

I don't usually leave reviews but with this hotel I thought it was necessary. The hallway carpet was stained everywhere. There was a random baby crib in the hallway apparently belonging to no one. Our room smelled like old take out shrimp our entire stay. Our room's carpet was nasty. The kitchen area was dirty (sponge w/stuff in it still). The beds […] weren't that clean cause there were hairs in it. The maid left us short a towel (that we hung up so that they didn't have to wash it- according to the sticker in the bathroom rules). That wouldn't have been a problem cause my wife and I could've used the same towel however she needed it to dry her hair because there was no hair dryer. Well there is but you have to rent it from the front desk for 10€ and apparently there is only one. So count yourself fortunate if you happen to get it. And the free wifi is not free. You have one hour. There are 2 pluses. Beds were comfy and it was cheaper. However I wouldn't stay there again. Read more

Yes it was basic - bed a bit hard. But it was what we wanted where we wanted it and therefore value for money. Note it is an oven not a microwave in the rooms - couldn't heat our wheat sacks for bed warming, not really needed anyway as room was very cosy. First thing, I have been coming here since June 2010, so I know what I am on about. OK, the main thing about this place is the convenient location, only a few minutes straight down the road from the central station (tram station connections located in the basement of the train station, very hand too). The rooms are basic, and there is no tree in plant […] pot in any of the rooms, as shown in the hotel picture on Expedia. The WiFi is pretty terrible, but there are a couple of direct connect RJ45 network cables if you like sitting in the foyer. Do not hesitate to ask for you money back if you don't get a good WiFi experience, they are good about refunds, they are used to it. There are convenient shops and restaurants nearby, and you get a little oven, fridge, and two-ring hob if you feel the need to eat in. It is only ten minutes walk to the central Place Kleber shopping area, and it is very lovely in the winter when the snow is deep and crisp and even...cue for a song. I may well be back from September onwards in 2011, but I am trying a few other hotels for contrast. Oh yes, and one more thing - about the toiletries - the new maid does not bother to renew the soap bar or the shampoo sachets after the first day, so you have to ask at the reception. Отель сам не плохой. Очень шумно из-за проходящих рядом электричек и поездов. В течении 7 дней пастель не менялась ни разу. Раковина была забита как мы только заселились в отель. Прошла неделя ее так никто и не чистил. В остальном все устраивало..
