We had an excellent stay! The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was nice and felt even roomier than it was because of the 15' ceilings. Very convenient to the French Quarter and Mahalia Jackson Theater. Highly recommended!

It was OK...the room was tiny, the bed was very uncomfortable, no fridge and a one cup coffee make on the floor of the bathroom. If you sat down in the tub you could see the upper part of the toilet bowl had not been cleaned in forever, there was a thick ring of black, moldy looking substance all the way around the toilet. Room service added two gratuity's […] to our room service bill for our one and only meal we ordered and when we got our final bill we had been charged for parking....we flew in and had no rental car or visiting guests so we did not use any parking! When we approached them about this we were made to feel like we were scamming them somehow. The best service we had came from the young men that got Taxis for us when we needed one...they would run two blocks down to secure a Taxi if needed...these young men worked HARD making sure everyone was taken care of. The room was top notch but if I were entertaining clients or meeting someone at my hotel I wouldn't stay there. I had not been there for a couple of years and when I walked in the lobby immediately thought it had gone to seed. Clean, nice hotel at Bourbon and Canal in French Quarter. There are two sides of the hotel--the new and historic side. Both are very clean and decorated nicely, however, it seemed that the newer side had larger rooms. Room 719 in the new section is a great room, with two double beds. The staff is extremely friendly, particularly the bellboys and the valet service. There is no parking garage in the hotel, the valet will park your car and your car can stay in the lot until 4pm the next day. The front desk suggested we get breakfast at Ruby Slipper, a few blocks away on Magazine Street, which was a great, affordable choice. I would definitely stay here again. Read more

The phone in my room constantly rang from 3 am till 9 am. There was no one on the other line. I went to tell the front desk and asked if they waited a little before going to my room to fix it because my friend was getting ready. They showed up immediately and because my female friend was still getting ready she wouldn't let the maintenance man inside […] to fix the problem. He got very angry and belligerent with her. Also, I let the hotel valet my car and they stole the radio out of my car. The hotel has no intentions of replacing my property. The only thing this hotel had going for it was it's location. Hotel was very nice. I had stayed here 1 time before. Hotel room was not the cleanest( found empty cup with lemon/lime still in it ) along edge of bed. Also found a shoe that did not belong to us under bed. Everyone was very friendly but I felt "forgotten" as the weekend became busier. The last night of our stay, we called for towels and linens 5x, […] no exaggeration. Finally, someone did bring them to us at 11pm!! Room was cold, problem with A/C. Otherwise clean and comfortable. There was noise from neighborhood but expected that from Bourbon Street. Hotel provided a set of earplugs in case it was needed. Staff was friendly. Accidently dropped wallet on Canal street. Found by hotel workers and was returned to me intact with all cash and cards.

This hotel is not bad. (I had one huge issue, but I'll get to that.) The problem is, they charge top dollar, and top dollar should get you more than "not bad". The accommodations are remarkably average. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, and most the staff friendly. But there wasn't much special about it. The furniture and decor was typical […] mass-produced hotel fare, and the view was nothing to write home about. The best thing was the location: it sits right on the edge of the Quarter at the end of Bourbon Street. We had a fair stay, but initially had a massive problem: I made a reservation for Fri-Mon, but had to change flights to Saturday morning. I tried to call the hotel, and was twice forwarded--but the phone just rang and nobody picked up. So I got online and chatted with customer service. I told them my issue. I did not want to change the reservation at all, simply notify them not to give away my room. The online rep assured me this was taken care of. Yet when I arrived, they had given away the room, and the front desk person told me it was my fault because I have to call directly (tried that) and can't do that online (then why did the customer service person online tell me they took care of it?). It was really a pathetic way to act. After going to the manager, they finally gave me a room. The rest of the the staff were friendly, but I can't overlook how unprofessional it is to blame your customer, who was told by your customer service dept. that it was fine. Read more

The hotel is located in a good location. The service is excellent. Cleaning crew arrives a little late in the afternoon so plan your day accordingly. Considering the busy outdoor environment the room was relatively quiet. Overall the Crowne is a good hotel.

Room was great, beds were great, we got a choice of down or foam pillows which I loved because I dont like down pillows but every hotel sees them as luxary. I loved the option. A fridge would have helped but other than that it was great!

Crown Plaza is located on the corner of Bourbon and Canal with an entrances on Canal and Bourbon st. The hotel is classy looking and clean. Checkin was a breeze and service was very good. Our sink was clogged when we arrived. I called about it and 10 minutes later the maintenance man was done unclogging...quick service. Check out was easy also. Valet […] service is about $32. Valet said when I want my car to call ahead 15 minutes before I was going to need it and my car was waiting for me. I enjoyed my stay and do recommend the Crown Plaza. Read more

Our original room had not been cleaned when we arrived. The second room we were moved to was clean when we arrived, but not cleaned on our second day. We lost money in a vending machine and were told they would send up a drink in compensation, but it never arrived. The staff was very friendly and the valet parking service was excellent! We went to a wedding in the French Quarter, so we wanted to stay at a hotel within walking distance. When we arrived, we decided not to park through the hotel so we parked at a garage half a block from the hotel because it was a bit cheaper. We arrived a little bit early, so we asked for an early check-in and they accommodated our request, which was […] great. The front desk staff wasn't especially friendly, but not rude either. Our room was located on the Canal side of the hotel and we found it was really noisy at night. It didn't bother me, but it did bother my husband. The hotel is aware of this noise, as they offer complimentary ear plugs in the room. Considering how this hotel is located on Canal and Bourbon (both busy streets), I'm sure neither side is quiet at night. The bed is probably newer, but it was hard as a rock. Some people prefer that, but not me. The bathroom was nice. Great shower. There is a charge for wireless internet, but you can get it for free in the lobby. No free breakfast. The restaurant on the first floor of the hotel was high-end and popular. We went there for drinks a couple times. We even met a celebrity there as they were waiting for a table. Very exciting! Overall, stay here if you want to go to Bourbon Street. Read more

Hotel service and location was great, but I do not recommend this hotel if you're driving there. The valet is extremely slow and backs up on to canal st. Not to mention they couldn't find my vehicle one night so I had to get a cab to go to dinner.

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Astor on a Friday night/Saturday morning. The hotel was excellent as far as quality and cleanliness of the room went. Overall, I would give the hotel 4 out of 5 stars for excellence of room quality, grandeur, cleanliness, etc. There were two major problems though. The parking situation is atrocious. They have a valet on […] Canal street. It is fine when dropping off your automobile. However, on Saturday when we went to retrieve our car, we gave the Valet our slip and it took them over an hour to bring our car to us. That is inefficient and poor management. Also, some pranksters pulled the hotel fire alarm at 2:30 AM alarming the entirety of the hotel's guests. I would suggest that the hotel invest in more security to prevent future false alarms, and I would suggest that the hotel invest in more or more skilled Valet drivers. A Valet should take 10-15 minutes to retrieve a vehicle at the most. Overall, I was pleased with the hotel and our stay, but I would think twice about re-booking this apartment until these problems are addressed. Read more
