"Large, comfy, clean room close to French Quarters"
Rooms extremely large, comfortable and clean. Staff very friendly, efficient and professional. Located on corner of Bourbon and Canal Streets, so all French Quarter sites very close and accessible by walking. Only negative is wait in car (about 20 min) to approach hotel in traffic lane can be tedious and a little disconcerting as you wait your turn […] to finally reach curb of hotel where a bellhop comes out to help you unload you car onto rolling luggage cart. Registration at front desk is quite efficient, as well as, bellhop bringing luggage up to your room. Also expect a 30-45 minute wait to have your car brought back out. Pool is nice size, as well as exercise room. I would definitely stat here again as opposed to other 4-5 star hotels located in the French Quarters Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The first thing we did was checked our car in at the valet. The valet service was a little confusing because it is directly on Canal street and there was a ton of traffic and people checking in/out of hotel needing valet services. After we checked our car, we proceeded into the hotel to check in. The lobby is beautiful! We were able to get right up […] to the counter and get our room keys. The room was on the 12th floor and we had a little view of Bourbon street, and a really pretty street next to Bourbon. There was nothing extraordinary about the room, but it was very clean so I was happy. We had two queen beds, the mattresses were a little too hard for my liking, but the pillows were big and fluffy so that was nice. The room had plenty of towels, soaps, and shampoo/conditioners so we never needed to ask for extras. Check out was just as easy as check in, we paid for parking at check out (about $35.00/day). Make sure to call the Valet before you check out though, so that your car is ready when you are. The Valets are so busy, and we didn't know to call ahead of time so we ended up waiting about a half hour for our car. When you see the amount of people/traffic they deal with though you'll understand why it takes so long. Over all it was a great experience and I would definitely stay at the Crowne Plaza again. Disappointing. Upon arrival, valet was not available. We were told at the desk that the valet was probably in the garage-this is after we had already waited for 10 minutes on the street at the valet stand. Also told upon arrival that the bathroom in the lobby was not available to us because, "if she allowed us to use it, she would have to allow every […] other rift raft on the street to use it". Air-conditioning did not cool well. Stains on carpet. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Crowne Plaza Hotel New Orleans French Quarter Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to provide our hotel feedback from your stay. I am very sorry about the lack of attentive valet personnel and unfriendly front desk staff. This is absolutely unacceptable per our hotel standards. I am contacting the managers of both departments in order to rectify this situation and prevent any further intolerable behavior. We do hope you’ll consider us again in the future and see our improvements. I apologize again for the experience you had. Thank you.
"Smack dab in the middle"
Ok, not exactly in the middle; but, on one side of the French Quarter, convenient to everything.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was central to everything. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were nice and a great value. We had 2 maintenance issues that were slow to be fixed but nothing serious enough to ruin our experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good spot for a family"
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for one night on the way home from a long family visit. We traveled with of five year old son, so it was nice to be close to the excitement of New Orleans, but not right in the middle of the loud crazy night time stuff. It was pretty quiet at night, but then again we were on the 13th floor. Our room was clean, but there […] was some wear. The ottoman with the arm chair had cracked and peeling vinyl, and the bath tub faucet dripped, and the tub had a bad worn spot where the white ceramic had come off and you saw the black metal. Overall, the hotel was nice, in a good location, had great staff, and was clean. One thing to note, though, is we learned the hotel uses the public lot further up Canal St for the valet parking. So save yourself a little money and park your car yourself. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Better than expected"
The stay was much better than expected based upon many of the previous reviews that I had read. Pool was small but typical size for NOLA-deck area was large with lots of tables to sit at while watching kids swim. Rooms were good size for hotels in NOLA.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close, but not close enough to French Quarter"
The hotel is very nice and service is outstanding, however as with any property close to Canal Street, there is an element of "edginess" with the loitering of people on the streets and doorways. Not a comfortable feeling for a woman alone traveling with teenage girls.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel, good location"
Overall the stay was very good. The location is great, the hotel lobby is very welcoming and the price was fair. The rooms are a little old, an update would be great (nothing to worry about though) and the personnel was nice, but not as nice as you want it to be. After asking for a couple of things in the lobby, I preffered not to ask again since I […] didn't feel my requests were very well taken. "If you want to party this is the place to stay."
This place is close to everything that is worth seeing in the french quarter. Has the convenience of being steps away from a fast food chain restaurant and multiple convenience stores / pharmacies. The valet parking was fast to take my car and to bring it back. The room was clean. The front desk attendants were very fast to service us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Potential not realized"
So to start off there are some very promising aspects of this hotel. The location is prime, and very clean with a competent bar staff. However the first thing when we pulled up to the valet on canal is that they clearly could not handle the amount of vehicles pulling up. So my car was stuck on canal for quite some time. After this experience we checked […] in fairly quickly surveyed the room and then headed out for the night. On my wife’s purse was stolen out of the hotel room. I am not implying that it was the hotels fault merely that crime is rampant in this hotel. Additionally if your wallet is stolen out of the hotel do not expect them to try and make any restitution on that stolen wallet. So after the wallet was stolen we asked to be moved into a new room which they complied with, but the room we were moved into had no running water. Finally after all is said and done it took a considerable amount of time for them to retrieve my car when we tried to leave the next day. All said and done if you had to stay at this hotel keep your personal belongings on you and be suspicious of everyone. My recommendation is to stay somewhere else unless it is the last place with rooms available Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything about this hotel was 5 star except for the price. I was beyond satisfied with our stay here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is very conveniently located to the French Quarter for the fun. We had business in the Medical Center and it was a quick drive there without a huge traffic hassle. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable, and the A/C worked fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The lobby is beautiful and helpful employees. Rooms were good but the bathroom was showing its age. No refrigerator or microwave. The pool is small and is salt water. Wasn't expecting that. We self parked at the hotels parking area. Even though parking says you can come and go anytime, They want to charge for every time you leave. We found out at the […] end of the stay you have to make a $50 deposit and pay for the amount of days you want to park, up front then the parking attendant will give you a card to come and go. Great location, just on the border of the french quarter and right by the trolley which made it easy to get to other locations. Hotel was very clean, our room was nice and large, staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
One of our beds was broken and I'm hoping I don't get charged for it being my fault even after I brought it to the attention of hotel staff the first day we was thereGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel, nice people close to most things. They went out of their way to help at all times while there. The only complaint was the air conditioning thermostat didn't work. It was freezing at times but I turned it off.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Great location for leisure and make sure to get a higher floor if you don't want all the street noise. Only complaint was the hotel room was not very clean. Plenty of dust around the room and bathroom had dirt. My girlfriend and I bought cleaning wipes to tackle the bathroom and around the bed. Both the shower curtain and sink were broken too. These […] aren't show stopping issues but unexpected given the name and presence of the hotel! Room service breakfast was very tasty and the location really made up for the issues. "Great Location at the beginning of Bourbon Street."
The check in was quick and easy and we had cards to room within 5 minutes of arriving. We were on the 5th floor accessible via elevator. Given the lobby was busy we did not really see any guests on our floor. The room was clean and well laid out. Well stocked with towels and a great flat panel TV. Would certainly recommend if you want to be on bourbon […] street but not in the middle of the madness. I think if we had been more central the noise would have been off putting and given the max height of hotels further along Bourbon St are only a 2-3 floors high. Would stay here again. "Second time not a charm"
This hotel is beautiful. The location is excellent. The lobby and hallways immaculate and nicely decorated. This was no surprise to me as I had booked this hotel once before about 5 years ago. This time I was very disappointed. First, we were given an adjoining room and the guests in next room were wriggling the door nob in an attempt make their room […] into a suite. Okay, may not be a big deal, just very annoying. The room, with comfortable queen sized bed, was roomy and adequate Second, tired after a day of sightseeing in the warm and humid weather, we came back to our room which was untouched by housekeeping (happened 2 or 3 times). Management apoligized for the inconvinience, sent a housekeeper to make bed etc but she made me feel like it was my fault or something. Lastly, my fiancée was brushing her teeth when the running water ceased to run (thank goodness we had already showered! ). Front desk said they were working on it. This happened TWICE around 9:00 am. Needless to say I will not be booking this hotel on my next visit to my home town. I expected more for the amount of money I spent for our week long stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A good Hotel"
We enjoyed our stay, the location is great and the room was clean and maintained. We don't have any complaints other than you don't want room service as it left much to be desired and way overpriced. Other than that, it was great!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great service, not so great room"
Our room smelled strongly of vomit (with a curious stain on the carpet between the beds), it seemed as if the carpet had not been cleaned. The toilet was clogged, the air conditioner was blasting with no way to turn it down. However, the staff resolved the toilet and a/c issue very quickly. The bell hop and front desk service was fantastic. The lobby […] was beautiful. They refunded us one night because we had to leave early due to a death in the family, and we were so grateful. From the moment we arrived the attitude of the staff at the desk and the bellmen was as friendly and welcoming as it could be. "Great location//poor service"
Some nice front desk staff made the situation netter by the end of our trip--but we had lots of situations with rude staff in room service. "Overall great but has it's problem."
Had to change room cards four time because they wouldn't work. At one point security was suppost to bring us new cards but we never saw him again. The disk crew was very friendly. Valet parking is expencive. Other parking options would be nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, awesome price!"
$63 for a Wed night. $34 for valet parking. Lower rate was probably because the room was in the older section of the hotel which was fine. The room was good sized with really high ceilings. It was a little worn, but clean and functional. Good location right on the edge of the French Quarter.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
One of the best locations in the city, and I have stayed at most on Canal. This has one of the worst valet services I've seen. Not only are they the slowest, it requires you to stop on Canal stopping traffic. The service in the hotel is just as slow as the valet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Crowne Plaza Hotel New Orleans French Quarter Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. I am sorry that our hotel staff did not meet your expectations. Our location on the corner of Canal and Bourbon is a great asset, but can also be a challenge when trying to check in and check out. "Great Visit to New Orleans"
So glad we gave the Crowne Plaza a chance after the previous reviews. Had a GREAT time. First off when we arrived at hotel, we are greeted by valet parking and they inform us that parking is $38.00 a night and you have to park there because there is no other place to park your car. That was a big surprise for us. Than we check in and the when I booked 2 rooms I requested the room be joined rooms and that did not happen. The first room […] they gave us the keys did not work so I had to go down 4 times to get new keys and finally they decided by lock was broken and needed a new one. I got into the room and it smelled like wet mold and smoke. I could not let my daughter in as she is asthmatic. So I took a 5th trip back down and they did change our room and floor but stated that they could not change my other families room after 30 mins of disputing with them, they finally changed both room to a different floor Housekeeping never came to clean the room and change towels. We had to call down at 11:30 p.m. when we arrived back in our room to have them bring toilet paper and clean towels. I did expect more knowing that this is the Crown Plaza. Not at all what the pictures show. The location is great, right off of Bourbon St. but not to close to all the craziness of Bourbon St. There was a shooting when we were there, which is out of anyone's control. Just beware of parking and rooms. We most likely will not stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect loacation for the French Quarter"
This hotel was in the perfect location. It was within walking distance to the church, the reception and all the local attractions. Since the hotel was on the corner of Canal and Bourbon, it was just a few blocks to both Jackson Square and Decatur St. We did take a taxi a couple of times but the cost was minimal. We ate breakfast at the Bourbon House […] our first morning there, and it was very good. Rather pricey for breakfast, but very good. I was disappointed with our view from our 6th floor window. I was hoping to at least be able to see the street or a courtyard, but rather had the distasteful view of a parking building (where a car horn blew nearly all day, every day. Never did figure that one out), and what looked like a section of a building that had no street frontage, that had been torn out. It was very odd. It would be a great place to put a courtyard with a little bar, and create some green space. Neither one of our room phones worked and we had to have someone come up and replace one of them; the wall-mounted hair dryer didn't work, but there was one provided that did; there was an iron, but no ironing board - we never did receive that; the room safe didn't work; and there was no working fan in the bathroom. For a hotel of this caliber, these items are trivial, but expected, and should be available. Hopefully the hotel management will address these common issues. This is a beautiful hotel and overall we enjoyed our stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
