Really loved the location, right on Burbon and Canal street. Would stay there again in a heart bed. Great rooms, beautiful lobby, and good restaurant. Only complaint was the wait time for the valet, took forever but great people watching on the street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Beautiful hotel in great location, on Bourbon and Canal. Service excellent, especially the bellman Chris. Be prepared to tip for bellhop and valet. You have no other option but to use valet and it may be a shock on the price. Go in with eyes wide open and you will have a great experience. front desk staff gave me grief initially about hotel reservation being in my husband's name. He was not there. Finally after I showed a ton of identification and credit card, they let me check in. Excellent location at the corner of Bourbon and Canal. Easy walk to the somewhat more relaxed Frenchmen Street area as well. Nice hotel, nice pool (if a bit small). In-room free wifi was painfully slow, although there's the option to upgrade to faster paid versions. Room was nice but air conditioning was weak. Couldn't get room cool. Room faced loud night club. Extremely loud noise until 3 or 4 am. Couldn't sleep. Maybe I should adjust my expectations....but......I was disappointed that there was not at least coffee in the lobby, no microwave or fridge in the room and not enough staff to do check ins and outs in a timely manner. "Worst Hotel Stay Ever"
Waited in a long line to valet the car and then another long line for check in. Thermostat and A/C broken upon arriving in our room. The first call to the front desk resulted in being told maintenance would be coming to look at it. No one came. The second call resulted in being moved to another room in the other tower. In the second room we had to rush […] to get ready to make a dinner reservation. The thermostat was set on 65, but read 77. We just figured it was taking a while to cool. Came back to the room at almost 1 am to find that the room never cooled. Tried to phone the front desk but the phone in our room was out of order. Walked down and was told maintenance would come. They never came. Walked down again and was told they would send maintenance. Had to go down a third time to be told that the A/C in our room could not be fixed and we had to pack and move to another room for a third time in our PJs at 2 am. "For our troubles" we were offered complimentary breakfast and an in-room movie despite the fact that it was 2 am and we had to check out in 8 hours. Additionally, during your stay we had a major breakage of our air conditioning system. Our cooling tower imploded and we had to wait for a part to be sent in order for our Engineering team to fix the issue. This is a very nice hotel however during my stay the AC was out in the whole hotel. The humidity and heat was intolerable. "WHAT A BUST!!!!"
THE HOTEL WAS AWFUL! tHE TOILET BROKE 2Xs, THE HOTEL CHARGED ME FOR 3 ROOMS AND SCARED EVERYONE-7-OF US- INTO THINKING WE DIDN'T HAVE A ROOM, ILOVE ICE CREAM ON A HOT NIGHT AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY FOR NUMEROUS NIGHTS, THE RUGS WERE DIRTY AND NEEDED A DEEP CLEANING. OUR ROOM WAS NEXT TO THE POOL WITH A WINDOW THAT DIDN'T OPEN..NAILED SHOT...AND VERY […] NOISEY KIDS. I RENTED A SCOOTER AND THERE WAS NO ROOM TO TURN IT AROUND IN THE ROOM..EVEN THOUGH I NOTIFIED THEM WHEN I MADE THE RESERVATION THAT I WOULD BE USING A SCOOTER. THEY GAVE US 2 QUEEN BEDS WHEN I REQUESTED AND CONFIRMED A KING BED..THIS MAY HAVE GIVEN ME THE ROOM TO TURN THE SCOOTER AROUND. I WAS OUT FRONT ON THE SIDEWALK OF THE HOTEL WITH 2 "GUARDS" AND I HAD TO POINT OUT THAT A CRAZY MAN WAS PEEING RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. THE ROOM SERVICE FOOD TOOK 35 TO60 MINUTES TO ARRIVE AND IT WASN,T THAT GOOD. PAID $93.00 FOR A STEAK AND A SANDWICH. THE 18% TIP AND DELIVERY CHARGE WERE ALREADY FACTERED INTO THE TOTAL. I THOUGHT A TIP WAS FOR GOOD FOOD AND GOOD SERVICE...I MUST BE WRONG! BY THE WAY THE PICTURES MAKE IT SEEM LIKE A MUCH BIGGER HOTEL THAN IT IS AND NEXT TIME I WILL STAY CLOSER TO THE FRENCH QUARTER AND SAVE ON TAXIS AND WALKING FOR EVERYONE ELSE. The location of the Crowne is excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. However, across the hall from the first room we occupied was a perpetual room service tray with leftover food on it. The odor got stronger as the day wore on, and although many hotel service employees passed it, no one bothered to pick it up. We asked that our room be changed, […] which it was. We went to a new room on a different floor where across the hall from our room was a room service tray with much leftover shrimp and fish. We left our room and came back about hours later, and the tray was still there. We found a hotel employee on our floor and asked that he pick it up. We showed him the tray, and he picked up the silver dome cover, peered at the food, and walked away. Two hours later when we left to get dinner, we picked up the tray and took it down to the lobby. On our way down the hall to the eleverator, we saw two more trays lying on the table by the elevator. I took pictures of it, and we brought the tray and the pictures to the desk clerk. She apologized, but she never asked for my name nor for my room number. She told me I could talk to the manager in the morning. As we were checking out, I asked for the manager, but I was told the manager wasn't it. She made a phone call and told me the food service manager would call me within 15 minutes. I was very much not impressed. The best thing about this hotel was the location. The room was not clean. There were stains on the sheets and I'm not sure what the maids did when they came. i had to wait in line over 30 minutes to check in at your already late check in time of 4:00. this wait is unacceptable. i went to a show and returned around 2 am. i went straight to my room. it was warm. i turned on the air. it never cooled down. i picked up the phone to call the front desk, and the phone did not work!!! outrageous!! i was exhausted, […] so i slept in the hot room. upon check out, the lady (a pregnant african american lady) never asked my how my stay was or anything. she did not greet me. i informed her i was checking out. no reaction from her. she eventually asked my if i wanted to pay for my valet parking with the card i left for a deposit. i told her that would be fine. then i informed her my air did not work. she asked if i had called the front desk to report the problem. i told her my phone did not work. no reaction from her at all. no apology. nothing. i then asked her to call the valet for me to get my car, SINCE THE PHONE IN MY ROOM DID NOT WORK, i could not do this myself. she took the ticked, took a deep breath, sighed, rolled her eyes and called for my car. she told me it would be there in 10 minutes. i have NEVER been treated like this at ANY hotel. EVER!! after she hung the phone up, she just stood there looking behind me. since i STILL did not receive an apology or thank you or any sound from her at all, i asked "am i done"? she said, "yes". then said "i can help the next person". The location couldn't have been more ideal, with Bourbon Street to our right, Canal Street in front, and Royal Street to our left.
