"Good Location, Not So Good Amenities"
This is a charming little hotel with a good location. The staff cannot be more friendly and accommodating, and for those things I give it very high marks. Where this property falls short are overall amenities: robe but no slippers, toiletries include only shampoo and soap, the bathroom could not have been much smaller, the standard room was very small, […] the breakfast was strictly average and breakfast coffee and juice comes from a commercial pre-mix machine. I asked for decaf lattes every morning, which they made from instant, and were just dreadful. In this price range, there are plenty of other options. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, excellent staff"
Ludovisi is small hotel located in the Via Veneto area of Rome. It is within reasonable walking distance of the Barberini and Spagna Metro stations. Our room was a little small for three people, but the beds were comfortable and the room had enough storage for three women with a week's worth of clothes, etc, There is a wine shop, tabacco shop and bar […] (for take away panini and beverages) on the street, just a few steps away. The area has plenty of eateries within a short walking distance. The personnel is very friendly and very helpful. We especially liked Paolo, who greeted us upon arrival and was full of helpful hints and always greeted us with a smile and cheerful, "buon giorno/sera" . We also greatly appreciated the kind and cheerful help of the German fellow (we didn't get his name) who helped us very early in the morning when our pre-arranged airport shuttle failed to arrive. He got us a cab very quickly and provided cheerful moral support, keeping us from getting too nervous about missing our flight. There was a variety of items for breakfast; eggs, italian bacon, cereal, various breads/croissants, cheese, sliced meat, yogurt and even a dessert selection. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Almost great experience..."
It's a comfortable hotel with a great location. Very nice people. Rooms are a bit tight for two people, but not a problem for a short stay. Internet service throughout the hotel, while included, is spotty - shuts off every 5 or 10 minutes, requiring to sign-in again with not-too-easy ID and passwords. Staff said no solution in sight. Oddly, the hotel […] ran out of facial tissue on Day 2 of our stay and did not resupply through the remaining 3 days we were there. Quality of the first order in all phases of this beautiful establishment. Could not have enjoyed ourselves more, nor felt quite as comfortable. The hospitality was absolutely superb,as well as the morning breakfast. A sure bet on any return to Rome for us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel was located in a great location. Close to Hop on Hop off stop, close to Spanish Steps and Fontana De Trevi and many other places. You could just walk to most sight seeing sights. "Best hotel of our trip"
This was by far the best place we stayed on our 10 day trip to France, Italy and Spain. It also cost more, but not a lot more than places that offered less. The breakfast was very nice and the coffee was great. The staff was very friendly and greeted us every time we came and went and they remembered what room we were in. Only complaint was that the […] walls seemed a little thin, we could hear the guy next door sneezing and we were right by the elevator so we heard some noise in the hall, but otherwise everything was great. "hotel for those on tight budget"
rome is expensive. you get what you pay for. definitely not a 4-star by american standards, more a cleaner 2-3 star hotel. hotel near spanish steps and most tourist spots are walkable. room is ok. bed a little hard, carpet smells. "permanent stains" on bathroom floor. has bathtub but small and half glass enclosure not enough to keep water from leaking […] to floor. bathtub not draining well and builds up water so the trick is to control flow of water from the shower. no airconditioning working at this time of year, room can get warm, have to open windows to get cooler air. room key must be returned to front desk but no one verifies or checks your id when you return to hotel and get your room key, so secure your belongings, keep valuables in safe. be careful with mini bar - it's not free, take note of what you use and confirm on a daily basis, otherwise you might be surprised at the end of your stay with additional costs. there is free internet, can sometimes be weak. felt "fake" friendliness from a front desk staff and one rude staff working at breakfast area. hotel located at a fairly safe area although there is poorly lit sidewalk area and also located on a steep hill. breakfast is continental with bread, pastries, cold meat #2 types#, scrambled eggs, bacon, cereals, coffee, juice - same menu daily and can be boring. overall, this hotel will do if you are on a budget and a deal is offered during your travel. "Great hotel with truly great service"
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It's convenient, very comfortable and the surrounding neighborhood has just the right mix of activity, cafes, restaurants & shopping without being noisy or overwhelming. I love staying near the Villa Borghese because it is so nice to escape the traffic and crowds to stroll in the park. "Nice comfortable hotel, awesome location"
We stayed in Rome @ Ludovisi the 1st week of Aug. This little hotel is very conviently located - close to Spansih Steps (5-10 min walk) and to Borghese Gallery/Park (5-10 min walk). It is located on quiet street, so there is not much traffic noise. The room was comfortable for the 3 of us (2 adults plus our teenage daughter) with Satelite TV, mini bar […] (fridge), desk and plenty of closet space. Our window was facing the Ludovisi Street. The room is little smaller as compared to USA standards, but we weren't spending much time in the room anyway, and the room size was comfortable for us. You could probably get bigger rooms outside of the city, but really you can't beat this hotel's location! We were able to walk everywhere from our hotel and that is a huge plus. The dinning room is a bit small... but we were usually early in the morning so we never had a problem getting a table. They serve the same breakfast every day with freshly baked goods - rolls and pastries - delicious! For the afternoon, they offer free sncks, i.e. peanuts, chips etc. You can also buy cocktails etc in the afternoon/evening. The front desk personnel is very friendly and helpful with tips, advices etc. I would strongly recommend the hotel for the quality, location and value. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We've stayed here twice and have enjoyed both visits. It's really a 4 Star hotel in a 5 Star neighborhood, and an easy walk to The Via Veneto and Spanish Steps. "Excellent ratio quality/price"
this hotel in Roma city center is an excellent ratio quality/price The hotel is 10 min from the Metro of the Plaza de Spagna, more on the hilly side of the town.Genuine Expedia guest review
Excellent hotel and awesome customer service. The folks at the front desk were very helpful. We checked into a room and found that it didnt have a tub and only a shower stall. We have a small kid and she freaks out to take bath in the stall. We told the front desk and they gave the only room with tub to us. It was more spacious than the original room, […] but they gave it to us without charging any additional fees - saying "we will do this for the little princess". This made us feel very happy. The place is around 3 - 4 miles from station and at a very nice location. The attractions are in walkable distances (20 - 30 mins slow walk with a kid). Nice restaurants near by. On the day of our return we had to leave by 4:30am. They arranged for a hotel cab to airport at a dirt cheap price. Airport is around 40 km from the hotel. The cab was waiting for us 10 mins earlier - no stress. overall we loved the people and the place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We came to Rome to renew our visa at the US Embassy. The location of the hotel is great for this, its a 5 minute walk to the embassy. The location is also great if you want to access Rome for tourist activities. The staff were good some were excellent but on the day of arrival the staff were not helpful at all. The room was not well cleaned, for example […] I noted nail clippings on the floor - this was really a low point for the hotel. At least the sheets were clean! I would say it is a good 2* hotel, not a 4* which it claims. We paid a lot for the night, and given the quality of the room it was too much. I pre-booked two adults and one infant. When we arrived and I asked for the crib, they said they did not have any, but they could put in an extra bed. This is not ideal with a 2 month old baby. There was not a kettle in the room or coffee making facilities. However on the plus side the night staff did bring us a pot of boiling water to our room very quickly when asked. Overall, I would stay here again if I can get a cheap price. The room was small-ish, it was not as clean as I would like and there were little facilities. However the bed was clean and comfortable. Most importantly if I have to conduct embassy business again I will see if the prices suit. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I have been to Italy over 30 times, and I can say I've never had a more pleasant experience than at this hotel. It's nearly half the cost of the surrounding luxury hotels, double the service and kindness. The staff was incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful. Here you will really feel like a guest, not just a room number. I'd recommend it to anyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice staff-below average hotel"
The hotel has bee renovated in the last 5 years, maybe? Small rooms, but that is okay. It just wasnt clean. Nice travertine tile, but mold, calcium build up and soap scum in bathroom. Staff was very nice and good neighborhood. Too bad...we just slept there. Came from Sorrento for our last night in Rome. Dropped our stuff off and headed out for the day. […] Back at 9pm for showers. Cocktail downstairs. Then to bed. Up early. Breakfast was okay. Then left for the airport. We had the basic double room. Could not have stayed there for a long visit. "Hotel Ludovisi was a quiet haven in a busy city"
Hotel Ludovisi is in a great area of Rome. It is in a quiet neighborhood but close to the Metro line, which is their subway, that can connect you to mostly all of the big attractions in Rome. I am 40 and traveled with my 67 year old mother. The service is very good and helpful. There is one concierge that was extremely helpful and friendly. We also […] had the American breakfast every morning which was a great start to the day. Great air conditioning! It was hot when we traveled in July and the rooms were nice and cold! I researched this before I booked because it is hot in Rome in July. The bathrooms are very big and housekeeping did an exceptional job. I highly recommend this hotel. "great staff, great location"
Everything was nice except our room on our second stay was small, with what my husband called a "micro bathroom". However, Rome is expensive and this was a small price to pay for nice hotel in great neighborhood. Near the US tourist hotels, but is not one of them so refreshing. "Wonderful little hotel!"
A lovely hotel, a welcome respite from very active city in a perfectly situated area near the Spanish Steps and Borghese Park. Hotel Ludovisi Palace is small, well appointed and offers a wonderful (multi-lingual) staff that is eager to help. The breakfasts were also a hit with my family. Rooms were generous for European standards and Via Ludovisi is […] a fairly quiet street just off Via Venetto which still hosts the upscale shops and grand hotels. The expansive Borghese Park is two blocks away and perfect for morning jogs. We were extremely happy with this boutique hotel and it's great staff. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel staff was very helpful with the exception of one gentleman on the desk. He seems to be bothered every time we approached the front desk. Not rude, just not very accommodating. Everyone else at the front desk, at breakfast and especially the evening bartender, were very friendly. Breakfast was very nice and you could get a very nice cappuccino […] if you knew to ask. Room was typical for Europe; small but adequate. Locations was great. Close to the Metro, the Spanish Steps, Trev i Fountain and shopping. One thing is a must - ask for a grocery store. There is one about 4 blocks from the hotel. It has a good selection of wine and beer and (in most cafes and all around Rome, water is 2 to 3 Euros) bottle water for .39 Euro. Would go back. "A very good Hotel"
A very good hotel, in a very good location (near metro station) and 5-minute walk from Piazza di Spagna. I think that the hotel is more expensive than it should be. "Lovely hotel, good location"
Rome is a beautiful city and the Ludovisi hotel is ideally situated for exploring Rome. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast pleasant and a good start to a busy day of exploring. The wifi wasn't great, it was a bit of hit and miss in our room on level 1 but as we were there for exploring and to not spend our time on the Internet it didn't bother […] us. The rooms were good and clean with a mini bar and sky tv for the times when we were too shattered to do any more exploring.
