Dream South Beach

First, from the airport to the hotel was a 32$ cab ride which is regulated by the town of Miami so you can't get ripped off. My boyfriend and I arrived at 10:00am and they let us check in early. They were very friendly and helpful. Note there is a 15$/day hotel charge that they will bill your credit card at checkout. The hotel is hip and trendy throughout. […] The blue lighting in the room set a calm mood and made everything seem a bit surreal. The place has unique style and wild colors. Be warned, the bathroom door is glass so there isn't much privacy but you can shut the main doors to the bedroom for a little barrier. Drinks are pricey on the hip rooftop bar and didn't seem worth it. You can actually bring your own booze up there anytime you want. The pool is pretty clean but you can't swim past sunset. The hotel is a block from the beach and they provide you with chairs and towels. I'd recommend stopping at a cvs or Walgreens for some snacks and drinks for the beach because the prices are ridiculous on the beach. There are public restrooms anout 5 minutes away on the beach which were extremely clean. Also, Lincoln street is about a ten minute walk away and has an abundance of shopping and eating for all budgets. Lastly, checking out was a breeze. We called for a cab and it arrived in ten minutes. its a great hotel for couples. Its kind of small but it didn't bother me much considering i only go back to sleep. Overall the decor is very posh and modern. I wasn't too pleased with the rooftop pool. The picture is kind of deceiving since its a panoramic view. The pool is 3 feet deep and about 10 feet long. Im guessing its more of a party pool??

Really enjoyed our stay over all because this place has such wonderful people working there. Matthew the bartender is really sweet and helpful. Aide runs the pool area is the best! My issues were that the toilet and shower area has see through glass, I'm just not that comfortable using the bathroom knowing my husband can see me. The lights were a pain […] in the butt and they close the pool at 9pm along with the pool bar, while other hotels keep theirs open longer. Oh and the food is really good but you will pay the price for such tasty treats! They have the A/C set to where you can't go any lower than 68 which was uncomfortable when its in the mid 90's and very humid. On our last day we requested a later check out and they accommodated us until 2 pm with no charge. A super-sceney hotel with a heart. The room overly styled, the walls were paper thin, and the sickly sweet fragrance in the room was oppressive. We actually had a room with windows but it still didn't help a ton with the dimness of room. Though I don't know how, prepping for a night out, the ladies would ever be able to do their makeup well in the room. The bathroom lighting is terrible too. We had a great time at DREAM. Special thanks to bartender/server Mario and pool staff Ida! The lighting in the room is funky and takes some practice but you can open the blind to let natural light in for getting ready etc. The elevators are a bit slow - but thats ok stairs are healthier ;-) We don't have any complaints. If you are friends travelling together, family or a new couple you may want to invest in a bigger room (not the standard). The the place seemed to be full of students (a bit odd for the price point), and the commensurate 4:30am noisy antics in the hallway were not appreciated. I think the hotel is expensive for what it offers. The room is dark, the bed is too small and uncomfortable and bad products offered for hygiene - soap, shampoo etc. - are of poor quality. Already we stayed in other hotels that charge the same rate and treatment was much higher. Definitely do not recommend.

I usually stay at Fountaine Bleau when I go to Miami but this time decided to try something right on the strip so I would have to catch a cab. I chose it based on the pics and reviews hotel.com. I'm happy to say it was EVERYTHING I hoped for. The placed looked exactly like it does in the pics, like a cozy Moroccan palace. (plus they have pics on them) I slept under the blue light every night:) No noise complaints it was very quiet. Only complaint I have was the water didn't get hot enough for my liking, I like it Hot HOT! Plus no on demand movies just reg cable. I'm not the clubbing type so 1 night I stayed in it would have been nice to rent a movie. Oh breakfast was AMAZING! Greek omelette and Brandy/Brownsugar pancakes were sinful! The service on the beach with getting your towels and beach chairs as a hotel guest was seamless also. I took this 2day trip to clear my head, be surrounded by beauty and relax by myself and it was completely fulfilled! I will NEVER stay at FB again. The hotel itself is beautiful and in a great location. The staff tries very hard. BUT, and this is a HUGE BUT there are several things here that turned me off. First, when we arrived they were hosting some sort of DJ event. It made the hotel incredibly loud and there was no way you could use the roof top pool area. During the entire time, some idiot put up a velvet rope in front of the lobby and tried to act like it was a nightclub. Every time we tried to enter our hotel, which we were PAYING FOR, we were hassled. Whatever event you have decided to host, you should remember that you have PAYING GUESTS. The rooms are very clean but also TINY. And in the effort to make them "cool" they put some sort of bizarre lighting into the rooms that make them very dark no matter what you do with the lights. Fortunately since the room was tiny AND the hotel incredibly loud, we didn't spend much time in the hotel. Great hotel and location in South Beach but rooms are very poorly insulated and housekeeping staff makes way too much noise starting at 7 AM banging on doors, opening and closing them shut and its impossible to get sleep past 7 AM. I have no clue why the staff needs to enter the same rooms 10-15 times over and over and why they cant just enter the room, […] clean it and leave and close the door shut quietly. So if you want to rest, this is not the pace but otherwise, the hotel is great. Only other complaint is that pool menue at roof top deck is very limited.
