We wanted to stay as close to the beach as possible, the hotel is adjacent to the beach. It's a little on the end of the beach, so businesses and restaurants are a little more than walking distance. We stayed here for our 1 year wedding anniversary and from check in to check out everyone was friendly and helpful. The breakfast is amazing never had a breakfast like that at a hotel. Would go back for a weekend get away.

Was very pleased w/our stay……main trip was to Key West but we stayed 2 days prior and 2 days after in Fort Lauderdale. Good location to everything beach and the hub of Fort Lauderdale. Breakfast was a delight and $10 for parking was better than a lot of other hotels. Stayed on a sundeck room =) and we enjoyed it in the am and pm!!!!

Very dissapointed for $269.00 per night...Glad I was only staying for one night. Tiny room, even smaller bathroom. Overall the hotel seemed very run down... Didn't enjoy looking at the side of the Shearton.... The bartender was rude and the holel staff were very stuffy...

My friend and I were there for a beach vacation and we are very pleased with the hotel. The location was perfect with just a quick walk to the sand and to the hopping area of Las Olas Blvd. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty each morning. This was an affordable hotel because it is an older hotel. However, it was very clean and in a super location. It was extremely easy to reach the beach and walk along miles of ocean. Great restaurants are all within walking distance.

I really liked that is was so close to the public beach, and had a lovely sidewalk/walkway down the whole length of the public beach. Great for morning jogs. Nice for an evening walk down to the bars and restaurants.

We had to pay an extra charge for parking for that night ; in addition the room walls were dusty and carpet was not fully cleaned . Hotel modern on front side, everywhere else older with older furniture and old carpet in room and hallways. Clean though. Pleasant staff. Beach is a short walk around the building and not in view for most of the rooms. Very small area for cars to park while checking in - room for three cars or two vans and one car. Parking is $10. and change per night […] for covered parking garage. Hotel key is pass key into parking. Staff allowed wife and I to have an hour later check out due to time of flight out. The comp breakfast is above average and is pleasant in a clean enviroment in doors next to pool. Hotel just a few blocks from shops, bars and restaurants on Seabreeze Blvd. One could actually walk the few short blocks. Across from the shops is a walk and jogging path along the beach. There is a mariner near by to the north (as are the shops) that offers fishing, snorkeling, diving, and sightseeing tours on waterway. Staff was great. Hotel was walking distance to beach and tourist district. Hotel was clean but you could tell it had been re-modeled. Pool area doesnt get much sun and no rooms with a view. Overall a clean bargain hotel that provides a free breakfast that would cost the average family of 4 over $50 anywhere you go nearby.

pasted below is exactly what I emailed to the manager of the Best Western Oceanside Ft Lauderdale and received absolutely no response: Theresa or Whoever It Concerns: I'm coming up on the last night of my stay and have to relay that I'm extremely disappointed. I travel very frequently and can honestly say it's been a long time since I've had this […] many issues with a hotel room. My issues have included: - the TV is very unclear with static on some channels (notably the HBO movie channel) - the lock to my room, as you were made aware, stopped working and required me to wait in the hall for 45 minutes late on the first night of my stay while the maintenance crew figured how to break in to my room - the hot water hasn't worked on 2 occasions - the toilet frequently runs on - the internet connection was spotty to non-existent the first 24 to 48 hours - the room smells like smoke I'd like to leave it to you and Best Western to see what initiative you'll take on how to address this.
