"Poor Costumer Service"
There were many negative aspects of the hotel. It was location in an old industrial park in Queens. It is a 10-minute walk to the subway station which in day time its okay but at night it’s a different story with safety. The hotel front desk staff did not know how to do their job and rude and not consumer friendly. When my friend and I were checking […] in the lady was still on her cell phone while she was checking us in. They have a shuttle service operated by limo service company and I was only there for one night and we missed the shuttle by a few minutes that took you to the subway stop. My friend and I ran to the subway station since needed to be in the city at a certain time. When we need a ride back to the hotel the front desk lady told us the company would be there in 10 minutes. It was a very cold and windy night and the shuttle never showed up and we called 15 minutes later and asked where it was the lady at the hotel was no help and actually started to argue. There were many calls placed every 5 minutes to see where the shuttle was and many times they never picked up. 30 minutes after were supposed to be picked up the front desk picked up and we were told "we have no control over the limo service its the holidays” We ended up taking an expensive cab ride back to the hotel. The next morning we were told we would not be eligible for a cab ride back to hotel since we were checking out later that day. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone visiting NYC. "Too far. Bad front desk."
Some weird noise from the tv. Bad maintaince on the machine. Staffs at the front desk were horrible, kind of. The hotel is way too far away from anywhere!Genuine Expedia guest review
enjoyed staying in this hotel, it has large and comfortable rooms, free Wifi and tasty breakfasts.Genuine Expedia guest review
They would only give one towel at a time, and only stocked one set of towels in the room to begin with. This was a room with a king sized bed and jacuzzi. I had to call for towels 3 times in 24 hours.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Horrible location with fake shuttle service"
Horrible location for subway station. They advertize that there is a free shuttle to and from Subway station. First of all, it is not available if you don't sit and wait for 30 mins at least and then they won't drop you off after checking out, forget about pick up before you check in because in both circumstances you are not staying at the Hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Reasonable price and ok all together"
Their 4-individual occupancy room has two double beds that were kind of smallish to fit two adults + two kids. Other than that the hotel is good for the price. It is 10 minute drive from Manhatan which is very convenient.Genuine Expedia guest review
I spend around two hundred days a year in hotels all ovwr the country and this is by far the worst one I've ever been in.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Well kept upon entering the room smell fresh and clean. Loads of privacy very comfy. Only complains are Wifi wasn't great, maybe I was doing something wrong could upgrade on the television. Overall nice cozy getaway spot.Genuine Expedia guest review

) They lost the password to their Business Center, 2) Bathtub drain was broken and they wouldn't fix it, 3) my hair dryer was broken, 4) they don't have full sized pillows and the ones they have offer about as much support as a T-shirt, 5) They don't have comforters on the bed, just a single, extremely lightweight blanket-like thing, with a shawl spread […] over it for good measure. 6) Their elevator was calibrated wrong so it takes FOREVER and of course I was on the top floor. 7) They have no central air (or didn't turn it on) so I would be sweating by the time I got out of the building even when it was 59 degrees F outside! 8) They only have one elevator which is constantly being used by the maids with their carts, 9) Their free toothbrush was so flimsy the handle would bend 180 degrees when it was in my mouth. 10) Their free combs are too big for your pocket . 11) The maid won't touch anything without your leaving a note reading FOR MAID - that includes puddles of water in the bathroom and pillow cases on the floor. I honestly wondered if they even came some days even if I tipped them. 11) The light switch only turns on one little light and you have to go around and turn on about 4 other lights for the place not be dark. 12) If you call for a cab they will call the most expensive cab in town who will try to rip you off first thing (wanting $35 to go where others charge $20). "would stay there again."
Good deal for the money stayed in one of the end rooms it was very spacious. My sister in law stayed in a room in the middle of the hotel and it was small. I was very pleased with my room!Genuine Expedia guest review
When I arrived at 3:30 p.m., the desk manager was a bit rude and obnoxious. I booked the room in May as a smoking room and he acted like it was some big problem. He had us wait 1/2 hour before the room was cleaned up and even then, more or less ignored us. We had to ask him whether the room was ready instead of him informing us. Other than this, the […] hotel could stand a much bigger breakfast area as there were not enough seats for everyone and some had to stand. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awkward Stay, close to Airport"
As soon as we entered the lobby we had to walk through a confrontation between 2 guests, a maid accused of stealing, and another maid translating for the maid who didn't speak English. It was a very awkward situation. Other than that incident that made us cautious of if our things were safe, the room was decent, but the location was kind of sketchy. […] I recommend only staying here at the least one night if you need a cheap hotel the night before you head to the LGA airport. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Good price and conditions for a NY hotel, the walk to the subway is a little tedious but there are always cabs going by that you can flag down. Two females out and about in the city alone coming back at 2-3am and not once did we feel unsafe. There are cameras all around the building that the front desk can monitor. Yes there's a cemetary across the […] street but we didn't use that street walking at night so it didn't phase us. It's an older building so it's not 5 star immaculate but it doesn't smell horribly and it was clean. Every year we come to NYC for a weekend, we'd definitely consider staying at this hotel again. Positives: Front desk let us check in early at no extra cost (so very appreciated!) decent room, comfortable (yet springy) bed, clean, free shuttle from subway to hotel until 10pm, nice breakfast with real scrambled, large NY bagels, and make-your-own waffels. A bit noisy, window was broken and wouldn't close all the way, slightly long walk through […] not-so-safe feeling area (though we, 2 girls, walked during daytime and felt safe). "Average hotel, terrible location"
It's really not a comfortable walk from the hotel to the subway station. It's not that it's a bad area, per se. It's just not pedestrian friendly.Long distances through warehouses and closed businesses, really empty. We ended up cabbing back home every night, which offsets what we saved not staying closer in the first place. Asked for a king bed, got […] two doubles. Service was good, though. Fine for overnight stay. Hotel is dated. Found stray hair on towel and toilet. Our solo bed was only a double, not a problem for us but may be for others. "Ugly building. Better inside"
Breakfast is better then averege. Parking is tight but manageable. Place doesnt look lie much from outside but it is a good alternative to Manhattam. You get more for less. Nothing in immediate area for food. Walk to Queens Blvd and you will get anything you need. Place was clean. Ive stayed there twice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to the subway"
I would not stay at this hotel again. They never understood that there were 4 of us staying in the room, and we had to ask for 2 extra towels every day...which they grudgingly gave us. The carpet in our room was filthy...bloodstains? The overall condition of the hotel was disrepair, old, and under construction. The "gym" was a very small closet with […] three machines stuffed inside with limited hours of use. Front desk staff was curt, bordering on impolite, and neither seemed to speak fluent english. "Great stay in convenient neighborhood!"
The room was huge and the breakfast was great. The subway ride was maybe 20 minutes to Times Square. It was about a 15 minute walk back. "Great NYC hotel!"
The subway is about a mile away - not a bad walk at all and I never felt unsafe. The hotel also haa a shuttle that will pick you up from the subway, though I never used this. The Hotel allows early check in if rooms are available which is important since I normally fly the red eye. "It's a Best Western"
The location is good. Not a far walk from the Subway. Surrounding area was overall good. Staff was not 'cheery'. They work in a hospitality industry but cared very little to elevate the service of others. The towels were a poor quality as were the sheets. Rooms are a good size though. Stay if you want but don't expect much.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Reasonable but not exactly what it looked like"
Staff was responsive but not outgoing and did not really make one feel very welcome. Hotel was LONG WAY from Metro train stop, 7 blocks, and free half hourly pickup from Metro STOPS at 10 pm. This NOT GOOD. Whole hotel smells of smoke. There are no posted penalties for smoking. Breakfast was VERY GOOD but only served until 9 a.m. Neighborhood is totally […] industrial and 7 blocks from nearest train. Room was okay but air conditioning was OLD style and did not reduce humidity properly and bathtub was NOT CLEAN. We would not recommend hotel except for persons WITH A CAR. I walked to the hotel every night from the subway stop at 10pm or later. Never felt nervous. Safe quiet neighborhood convenient to Manhattan. Our beds were way too soft to my liking, but others may like them. Only one "shuttle" trip allowed per day (really a black car service), but it picks you up across the street from the subway and drops you off […] at the hotel. Limit of 4 max per car, though they prefer 3. The breakfast was very good, but the staff had a hard time keeping up. Get down there early before the donuts and bagels run out. "Good Quality at a Descent Price"
Hotels was in a great location not too far from the city. Beds were comfortable and the room was very spacious. The bathrooms could use updating but manageable. Its best not to get a room near the elevator because it tends to be very noisy at times.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I stayed here for one night while in town for business. I enjoyed my stay. It's a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest subway station. The neighborhood is incredibly diverse and seemed relatively safe. My room had a nice view of Long Island City and the Midtown skyline. There was free internet and parking for those who need it. Computers are available, […] but only in 20 minute sessions and sometimes the internet on these public computers was down. Interestingly, the building was once a public school, and some features of this are still visible. The free breakfast was decent. The cleaning staff was very nice, but the front desk was a little less nice. Overall, I had an enjoyable stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Any port in a storm......."
The location was very convenient to my work which ranged from lower Manhattan to Brooklyn & LIC. The room had trash left over from a previous occupant and looked liked it had been a month or two since it was last vacumed. The elevator was not in service on arrival as a television production had taken over the hotel as a shooting location creating limited […] access and congestion of the street, parking lot, lobby, etc. with operating staff and equipment. The hotel called on the third day of my stay to inform me they were without water. Fortunately the city was able to correct this problem and restored service in a couple of hours. There was a couple who decided to stand outside my door 9pm arguing about their lovelife for about 45 min until I asked them to move on. The following morning the hall outside my door was filled with a pungent aroma reminiscent of my days in Amsterdam. I left for work at 6am and stopped to try the continental breakfast. The bagels were stale and the coffee was drinkable. I'll probably stay there again if the price is right and I run out of alternative options. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
