Newly renovated Indigo Hotel ( a year ago ), looks as if they reopened the hotel yesterday. This place was so beautiful and so well kept, I would have issued a reward to them for this achievement. We were there for a family event and we booked multiple rooms as a group. Based on the location and description, we were expecting a "resort" like hotel and were very disappointed. The wall is paper thin and that you can hear every conversation, foot step and knock on the next door. No slippers or robe or makeup mirror and not enough outlets in the […] vanity area. We had an enjoyable one night stay. Our room, while not large, was very comfortable, quiet & nicely appointed. We enjoyed the jacuzzi in the evening. Took a walk down to the restaurant/downtown area which is only a few blocks away. Would definitely recommend for a great weekend getaway in beautiful Del Mar.

The Hotel has been upgraded with the purchase by Indigo properties. We did request the $30 upgrade to a room with the balcony, otherwise the room would have been extremely tiny (smaller than a normal room). The Hotel Indigo has had a re-do and a re-branding in the past few years - while by no means luxury class, it is quite comfortable and a good value for the money. The hotel is about a half mile from the center of Del Mar, as pretty and pleasant a coastal town as you are likely to find. Cute Hotel. Staff was courteous, rooms were a little noisy. Location requires a bit of a walk to get to the center of town. A little slow getting in. We arrived at noon, room wasn't ready when we returned at 4:40. I think the staff was just getting organized. Expect it to improve as they continue. We will give it a try again in the spring.

Beautiful setting; all I could hear during the night was the surf. Mostly updated hotel. Kind of difficult to find the room, needed a map first. Comfortable bed, nice, but small bathroom. Fantastic view of the ocean from the window and balcony.

Seems like an older hotel that has been given a very nice face lift. The walls are a bit thin, but a great deal of effort has been made to make it clean and modern looking. We had a nice stay. Especially appreciated the ocean view!

The hotel is nice aesthetically, well designed and nicely furnished. The bed was large and comfortable with a lot of pillows, the bathroom was large and well lit, and Richard at the front desk was friendly and helpful. I also loved the Aveda bath products. The lobby was elegant and welcoming. I also noticed a nice looking restaurant/bar and a spa, but we did not use either. The drawbacks are that it did not offer breakfast (only coffee), it is a little out of the way from both downtown and the beach which are both nearby but not easily accessible, the TV was not very user friendly, it was confusing to find the pool area, the A/C was adequate at best and water ran from it into the walkway outside (there was a heat front while there), and it only had a shower stall (no bathtub). It appeared clean except for a long dark hair (I'm blonde) on the bathroom floor which remained even after it was "cleaned" the second day. It is a nice hotel. It was a great weekend. The only problem was my wife call on Thursday the 23th, two night before we would arrive and asked for early check in. She was put on hold for 15 minutes and had to call back. My wife was told check in wasn't until 4:00pm and check out was 11:00am which seems to be mis-information. The hotel person didn't really make her feel […] comfortable and we were tempeted to cancel.
