It was really nice! This was our first time to this area and we would definitely come back again! Just over an hour south of Cancun. Many nice restaraunts make it easy to eat something different for every meal.

Staff and amenities exceeded my expectations. We have a 5 year old and even though we didn't use the hotel kids club I would have felt totally safe and comfortable taking advantage of their services. We had an excellent visit to Dreams Puerto Adventuras, and can't wait to go back. We travelled with our two kids, 7 and 9. They loved the pool and had a reasonable amount of freedom to swim on their own. The staff at the swim up bar were excellent and so friendly! Luis and Marco were so great! My nieces are 12 and 16 and they had lots of fun too. The dolphin swimming was a ton of fun and well worth the extra money. Frustrated that there was only one option for packages of pictures, but the hotel concierge was essential in helping us, even though it wasn't part of their job. Entertainment staff were great, so helpful and remembered our names so quickly. We were there for New Year's Eve and what an amazing show! The food was great in all restaurants, lots of options for every meal. Our only downfall was having the restaurants manage to seat all 10 of us at one table. They kept wanting to do 2 tables of 5. Not upset enough to remove any stars though!! This resort is part of the community of Puerto Adventuras, and it was great to borrow bikes or walk through town and do some shopping, see the marina, and visit another dolphinarium so close by. We had a lovely time staying at this hotel. The staff was extremely helpful, charming, and attentive. An especially nice feature of the hotel is that it is adjacent to a sort of canal where they have six dolphins and two manatees, and a short show twice everyday, free. The concierge set us up with a day trip to Chichen Itza, which is an amazing ancient Mayan site. We definitely recommend this. We also had a great snorkel experience, arranged by the hotel dive shop. Our room was clean and comfortable and cool, but the humidity was high. They may need to adjust or fix the airconditioning. This was not terrible, though. We enjoyed the food, and the beach, even though it is smaller. Be sure to ask for the flaming Mayan coffee. They provide this every day in the lobby during the late afternoon, with a snack. There were 10 of us on this trip all family ranging in ages from 9 to 70 and we all had a great time. The event staff did a great job! The entertainment staff was wonderful! Made sure everyone was having a good time and were always present. There was something going on every hour of the day. The beach was in a cove area so perfect for playing, snorkeling, and kids jumping on the water trampoline. No big waves to knock you over. The bartenders were a lot of fun. The layout of the hotel was well thought out and there were diverse areas to relax whether you wanted the bustle of the family areas of the pools and beach or much quieter all adult areas with dedicated pool and bar areas and naturally separated beach areas. If you want a quiet room avoid the second floor as the main event theater is at the far end […] and the halls are all hard travertine so every voice is amplified. The guests tend to be very boisterous approaching and leaving the evening events, but it's all over by 10:00. The dining options were reasonably diverse and scattered around the property which was effective in dispersing the guests in the evening. The food was above par for all-inclusives, plenty of variety, and good porportions with the exception of the sushi bar (from what we heard). Room service offered a limited menu, but arrived promptly. It isn't a brand new resort and there were some signs of age but active repairs were evident. We had issues with the TV remote and the room phone, both of which were resolved within minutes. The hotel staff were extrememly courteous and friendly. The waiters and bar tenders were fun without being tacky. The service on the beach was always prompt even with a reasonably full resort. It was nice being able to order snacks directly from a beach server. The security was top notch and highly vigilant so we always felt safe and secure. We didn't take any excursions, but plenty were available each day. Read more

Initially I was unhappy with our room bc the bath tub was leaking all over the floor of the bathroom and it reeked of cleaning solutions everyday, rather than just a pleasant clean smell. I spoke to the mgr and was moved to a different room with a walk in shower (I highly recomment asking for the walk in shower rather than the tub..) and was very pleased […] after that. Also, the first room was on the level where you check in making it very noisy at all hours of the night. If u want peace and quiet make sure you are not near the elevators on the 2 floor! It is very kid friendly, and had my husband and I taken our children we would have had a blast with the whole family. The staff was great, very attentive and pleasant. I left my IPhone 4 in my 'old room" when we transferred to the new room and was so pleased to go to the front desk where the cleaning ladies had turned it in. The hotel is very old. It is nothing what the pictures portray. The beach is very disappointing, it is very rocky. I saw at least three people cutting their feet (including my own mom). On the other hand concierge staff are very pleasant and helpful. The food is also good, however the bartenders and cooks are not as nice.

Our first trip to an all-inclusive resort, and our dilemma now is we may never go to another hotel. Our stay (May 30 - June 6) was at the beginning of hurricane season. It rained during parts of most days and the winds limited the availability of some water activities, but we were able to do everything we wanted to do. We stayed on the 5th floor with […] an ocean view and king bed. The room was large and modern. We loved the marble floors, and the air conditioning offered relief from the heat. The bathroom was large. The shower was huge, which came in handy to rinse swimsuits and sandals. There was no bathtub, which was not an issue. There were areas in the resort for family fun and partying and spots on the beach for peace and quiet. Many food options, all were delicious. Dreams' staff focuses on the guests. Many were genuinely interested in getting to know us. Most spoke English well, and a few helped me sharpen my Spanish (eg Pablo at World Cafe). The entertainment staff work day and night leading zumba classes, bike rides, water aerobics during the day and drinking games at night. They always were energetic and guests had fun whether they were participating or merely watching. We loved Junior and Michael. Booking an ocean view for 7 nights gave us extras, including a couples massage on the beach, romantic dinner on the beach, photography session. Awesome- but we had to ask to get them. We switched rooms and the second room was better although there was big gap at the bottom of the door and one night we came back to a lizard in our room. Overall, this resort is OK. The staff are nice enough. The grounds are kept up beautifully. Employees are up at the first sign of light, and are working all day to keep the resort clean. We were most disappointed with the food. We have stayed at several other Dreams Resorts, and the quality of the food here did not compare. We found the food at Oceana […] to be not edible. We felt that the Mexican Resurant was the best. The Italian (Portofino) was OK. If you are a breakfast eater, the buffet will have anything that you can imagine in the morning. The beach area is nice. There was a worker every morning hauling away wheelbarrows full of seaweed- they really put forth a great effort to keep everything clean. The adult pool seemed to be the spot in the afternoons. There are a lot of families and always something going on on the family side of the resort. This did not bother us. We walked into the little town and saw the dophin encounter and some of the shops. If you get a chance, you really should do this. Many of the people that we met on our stay would go into town for dinner at night. They have several cafe's and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay, because it was our vacation. The food at the Seaside Grill is wonderful. The Italian restaurant, Portofino, was exceptional - excelent dishes, wine list and a knowledgeable serving staff. Then, when you want to stroll around the marina, which is just a short walk out and to the left of the resort, you can visit the manatees, seals, sting rays, and you can even swim with the dolphins. Our room was in an unusually bad state of maintenance. There was an unusually musty smell upon our arrival, the shower was broken, the minibar was broken (and was never repaired during our stay despite repeated "attempts"#, the patio light was broken #and was never repaired during our stay#, dvd player wires were missing, and the phone stopped working […] while we were there. It became almost comical - a bit of Murphy's Law. It seemed like the staff tried to fix things #and they did show up to do so# but, for a few things like the musty smell, the minibar and the patio light, they did not fully succeed in correcting the deficiencies. This is our 3rd trip to Puerta Aventuras. We came in 2006 and 2007 when this hotel was Sunscape and we came back in 2012. All three times we have had a wonderful experience. The staff is very friendly and any issues we have ever had were taken care of promptly. I managed to forget the passcode to the in-room safe and called the front desk. Within 5 […] minutes we had a guy in the room and he had the safe re-opened in about 30 seconds. This was the first time we had ever tried room service. We placed an order for drinks and snacks at 11:30 pm and had both in about 20 minutes. Breakfast was the same. Service came within 20 minutes and the food was hot and fresh.
