Front desk service is too slow. We had to call in for towels 4 times, it took over 2 hours to get them. We also called to have the tv replaced, a/c serviced and lights fixed. Also our room access key was inactivated after 3 days. We had to go to the front desk to reactivate. The meals are not that good and were super expensive. This place was paradise! I never wanted to leave. I would go back there in a heartbeat! The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The food was spectacular. There are 3 Manatees that live in the Cenote you can snorkle and kayak in. NO BUGS!!!!! Our room was clean (and I have a very high expectation of cleanliness)! I cant say enough about this place. I wonder what they'd charge for me to become a permanent resident! I wanted to stay forever! There was a lot of walking, but, you could take the golf cart transportation. The rooms are large and have wonderful balconies with a hammock. The beds are comfortable and there's plenty of warm water in the shower. The resort is very large, so there's a lot of walking to get to the beach and restaurants. There are trams, but they only seem to come by if you call them. We knew that the hotel was damaged by a hurricane and only half was repaired,but we vastly underestimated the extent of what was repaired and how much was still left damaged.The hotel had ONE restaurant by the pool and only half of the building was open every day/night.The food choice was minimal when a buffet style was offered and most nights, only […] an a la carte menu was offered.This restaurant was never busy but the service was horrible and many people were disappointed.I think the administration heard about that and the service did improve.There was a small sushi bar open near the pool,but only big enough for about 20 people.The best food available was an afternoon grille at the pool which was excellent.The pool bar staff was friendly and the drinks were good.They had a great kids pool with a kids club, which was next to the adult pool.The property was deserted and sometimes it felt like we were the only ones around .There was no useable beach.A giant fence with green privacy inserts,about 30 feet tall,was erected right next to the south-west side of the pool and restaurant area,starting at the ocean/beach area and running toward the middle of the property for about 1000 feet.This was to separate/hide the damaged half of the property that was not repaired. There apparently is no management, or staff was not sufficiently trained before re-opening last october.. So nobody seem to know what to do and how to be efficient. Interesting resort that has a cenote / lake within its area - easily identified in Google Maps satellite view. It was apparently part of a much larger mini-zoo eco-park type property, now split in to two, which also includes a lagoon. The cenote / lake is very large and we had fun kayaking the entire length. Waters are clear enough for some snorkeling […] too. A separate lagoon (outside current resort boundaries) is accessible walking along the beach, and we also tried snorkeling there. We saw lots of wildlife in the premises - a racoon, coatis, a large snake, 3 foot long iguanas. The accommodation is in the form of tall thatched huts, with one room at the first floor and one room at the ground floor. The rooms were nice, but the room at the first floor felt a bit dark due to the thatched ceiling. The exterior of our huts was a bit run down and our huts were next to abandoned animal enclosures, partially shielded by trees, so a bit ugly. The resort covers a large area, walking between the reception, the pool and the accommodation or waiting the for golf carts got a bit tedious. We did not take the all-inclusive plan, but we had a car, and there are plenty of places to eat in nearby Puerto Aventuras area, including pretty good pizza and chinese takeaways, and a taco joint. Pool is also not at its best condition. The entire hotel needs alot of updating - i.e: paint work on columns, walls and children's pool area and actually putting fishes and water in the ponds. The run down look of the spa does not look appealing and prices are also on the high side. All inclusive does not include room service. This place is good for family with children. On a budget and meant for a longer stay so guests could enjoy all the activities offer by the hotel for free and also visit near by attractions like Tulum ruins and Tulum town centre - getting to outside attractions are very convenient by public van (collectivo). So the negatives right off the bat... In the low season they consolidate their restaurants into one. Mexican dishes served from breakfast til 5pm and Italian served after with a very limited Mexican I personally slept terrible. Once we figured out the food situation it was incredible the food was fantastic. -My girlfriend slept like a log for 5 nights straight so whatever reacted with my skin may have just been a personal issue. -The staff are friendly and go above and beyond to help -The grounds are beautiful and while they are transitioning from a resort/zoo to a eco-resort entirely there are a lot of empty cages or viewing areas -their beach is only a reef which offers great views of both sunset and sunrise but there is a gorgeous public beach within a 2minute walk of their Xpu Ha beach If you want nightlife this is not the place to go as it does not offer much by way of evening entertainment and is a good 30minute drive to the nearest club and bars. If you are looking for relaxation and to immerse yourself in nature there is absolutely nothing better than this place. It compares in terms of tranquility with resorts I've been in Thailand in terms of peacefulness PS kayak on their lagoon. My husband and I had been to this hotel about 6 years ago. It was the most awesome hotel ever! However, since then it was hit by a hurricane and literally half of the resort is now gone. There is a 20 foot fence blocking off access to what used to be the ocean view rooms and a magnificent snorkeling bay. The only rooms left are jungle view. The only […] place to snorkel at the resort is the cenote which only had ugly brown grouper in it. There are manatees in it too but we never saw them. Jose, Rudolfo and Viktor are awesome bartenders and servers. Jose actually took time to take us around and take pictures of us in various places around the lobby bar. Pictures of the two of us together on vacation are priceless! This hotel had very few guests while we were there which was nice because we got such great one on one service. There is no beach at this hotel but there is access to the ocean and a short walk to the beach at the hotel next door, which they allow the guests of this hotel to use. There is a huge pool here and a kids pool with slides that was a lot of fun too. We had a great time here because we aren't into crowds and night life. I am sorry to say we were disappointed; no beach, 70 % of the hotell was still shot down after a storm for several years ago and staff who didnt show up for work. That means no cleaning of the room. Das Hotel hat zwar Anschluss zum Meer, jedoch keinen brauchbaren Strand zum Baden. Dafür gibt es einen stündlichen Shuttlebus zum nahe gelegenen öffentlichen Strand. Die Anlage ist auffallend langläufig und sehr groß. Es verkehren daher hotelinterne Golfcarts als Shuttleservice. Fazit: Preis-Leistung in Ordnung. De los […] pocos detalles que podria decir, es que les falta sazon a muchos de los platillos que tienen, las salsas no pican (a menos que uno lo pida de habanero y el chef sepa seleccionar los chiles), le falta sal a la mayoria de las cosas, etc. En general, el hotel esta muy bien para desconectarse de TODO.
