The room had L' Occtaine amenities and upgraded liquor. The service wasn't any better than our friends that just had a regular room. The bus to take you to the rest of the resort was slow. If you agree to listen to the "presentation" and do not buy a time share they will bother you about it up until the day you leave. There are other resorts I will vacation at before I go back to Moon Palace.

Every time you tried to arrange anything through guest services, you immediately waisted a half hour listening to their sales pitch on their time shares. The air conditioner fan in the room was extremely loud, and their food was not good! Additionally, no one was allowed in the water because of jelly fish and about six feet of solid seaweed into the water.

We booked 6 rooms for friends reunion. Disappointed with quality of service as staff was too busy looking after other large group of some Convention people including restaurant staff. Poor communitation. Be careful in using Jacuzzin in your room and one of our members slipped and got stitches as the floor was slippery due to poor maintenance. We had to pay for all the expenses to be attended at the local hospital.

Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Aug 1, 2008
Let me begin by saying we have been to Cancun approx 11 times, we like to try different Hotels. The Moon Palace in my opinion is a beautiful Gigantic hotel I think over 2,000 rooms. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children. Location: The hotel is the 1st from the airport. Tip... Make sure you get transportation included in your price. The drive is no longer than 10 mins., and will cost you $50 U.S. Dollars. BTW, departing the hotel you should expect to pay $19-21 U.S. Dollars???? Hotel: The rooms are very nice with a jacuzzi in room nice size plasma tv, our opinion on the air conditioning GREAT!!!! Also beds are extremely comfortable. The selection of restaurants is great. Food is above average from some of the other all inclusive hotels in cancun. The Moon palace is defintely secluded from the hotel zone, and they are aware of that. So you do get you monies worth by staying there especially if you have childern. They have approx 8 different excursions which are included in your hotel price. That is a great deal, if you take advantage of the excursions it is definetaly worth it. One that my boys love is the Wet and Wild waterpark which is owned by the Moon palace. You can take a Moon palace bus to the waterpark or you can take a boat there. Highly recommend the boat. Nice ride. Every thing is included at the waterpark food, drinks, rides with the exception of "swimming with the dolphins" and lockers. The ocean like all the other reviews is correct, it isnt the most beautiful ocean in Cancun. Lots of seaweed. They do keep it as clean as they can. You can always go to one of their sister hotels for the day for free and view what the Cancun ocean really does look like. I would recommend this hotel for families. I would definetly go back to this hotel, reason being service is excellent, not overcrowed and beach is not an important decideing factor in our vacation.
