"Amazing Location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Na Balam got some underserved poor scores. The location happened to be the best location on the island (as far as beaches go), and fairly convenient to excitement of down town. The grounds were spectacular, and for such a reasonable price. Front desk and beach bar staff were not amazing, but not bad either. They could do some training on customer service in order to make it a more magical experience, but all in all, it was acceptable service.
"great deal for your money"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
Fantastic deal for your money. The confirmation from hotels.com said that our room had ocean, pool and garden view.... it didn't. The view was just trees. We had booked a king size bed but got 2 queens instead so that was disappointing but over all a great place. Men need to bring long pants if you're planning on eating in the a'la cart restaurants. The buffets are great, a'la cart is ok.
"Great hotel, nice beach"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 30, 2012
Everything that you could expect from a hotel of this category. Professional and friendly staff, very clean, excellent service, nice amenities. A few cons: balcony doors do not have bug screens, there was an extra fee for using the gym, and it is not within walking distance to markets and shopping centers but you can easily take a bus or taxi anywhere.

I loved the hotel and the service is wonderful, however I was really disappointed in the beach. We had to travel to another Palace resort to swim in the ocean and take pictures. But that is my only complaint.
Our 3rd time there and it always amazes us. Great service, greap options and great grounds. Awesome place

"Moon Palace All-Inclusive"
The complex is huge with three major areas. At first we were in the "Grand" section which has great rooms, but is far away from most restaurants and activities. If you have small children, this section would be very inconvenient. Later we were transferred to the Sunrise section. I answered the questions about the hotel very favorably, but would hesitate […] to recommend it. This is because while the facilities were excellent the food (except for the breakfast buffet which was fine) was rather mediocre for the price we paid. We had dinner at 6 different restaurants. Fish (except for one lunch buffet) was always grouper. The system of pools is elaborate, but the water was cold. The ocean was warmer, but once you got out into the water to waist level, the sand was covered with turtle grass. One could take a bus to other palace resorts but this was inconvenient with children. Whether I would recommend this hotel to someone would depend on what that person was looking for. Read more
"Great Family Resort"
We stayed in the villas. My wife, my 3 daughters, and myself. There were a couple things that pushed me to spend the extra $ per night, one was a living space separating the bedrooms (aka secluded master... huba-huba) the other was the golf cart to get around the massive resort (maps and pictures don't even come close to representing how big this place […] is). My daughters are all 4 and under and the golf cart was awesome. One really nice surprise was we actually got 2 golf carts, one for me and one for my wife. The 2 bedroom suite is actually 2 rooms at the villas and there is one golf cart per room. When I went and played a round of golf at the fantastic course, she took the other golf cart to the beach and one of 4 separate pool areas. The golf suites are located in the villas which is part of the Sunrise. This is important to know because if you do not book directly with palace resorts they don't tell you what lobby to check in at and there are 3 different lobbies. We used Cancun Valet for those of you who are interested in airport transfer shuttles and they too were awesome. The first question the driver asked me was what lobby, and I didn't know so we proceed to the closest one and had the bell man look up where we were supposed to go. To save time, and every minute counts when you are dropping alot of cash (for us anyway), you want to find out which building you are booked in. The villas ended up being in the middle of the golf course with jungle surrounding the buildings and paths. It was really cool. It was about a 4 minute golf cart ride to the main complex from there and we really enjoyed driving it. Lots of stuff to look at while you are driving. The food was great, the staff serving the food was even greater. We found the breakfast buffet and lunch buffet at the Sunrise were the best. For sit down dinners, the best one, in my opinion was the Italian restaurant at the golf club (don't remember the name). The Brazilian steak house was okay, and the sushi was Read more

"Would have expected more for upgrading to concierge level"
The room had L' Occtaine amenities and upgraded liquor. The service wasn't any better than our friends that just had a regular room. The bus to take you to the rest of the resort was slow. If you agree to listen to the "presentation" and do not buy a time share they will bother you about it up until the day you leave. There are other resorts I will […] vacation at before I go back to Moon Palace. Read more
"Awesome"
do not hesitate to plan a vacation here. this resort gives you the most bang for your buck and it will not dissapoint. great service, food, drinks, ambiance, cleanliness, etc. we went for 4 nights and it was just enough to get an idea of what paradise can be. good job palace resorts
"Needs Improvement"
Every time you tried to arrange anything through guest services, you immediately waisted a half hour listening to their sales pitch on their time shares. The air conditioner fan in the room was extremely loud, and their food was not good! Additionally, no one was allowed in the water because of jelly fish and about six feet of solid seaweed into the […] water. Read more
"Excellent"
From the choice of bars, pools, resturants to how friednly and helpful the staff are this is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Truly all inclusive with no compromise on quality.
"Vreselijk vochtige kamer!!!"
Read more
