First off, they put us in the handicap room. We are NOT handicap and others there were and could have used it. Next, I only slept 4 hrs total the first night because the bed was TERRIBLE, I mentioned this the the guy at the front desk and he acted like he already knew. Our room shared the doorway with the main door and everytime someone went in and […] out the front door would slam and bounce LOUDLY. Asked the front desk if she could do something, she said, "Nothing I can do, it will do that all night, every time." And didn't even apologize or care because she was too busy visiting with what appeared to be her boyfriend. We left the hotel at 9:35 p,m. ! The only thing good, is it was clean. I stay at this particular super 8 a lot. Usually my stay is pleasant. This trip was terrible. It sounded like there were a herd of cattle staying above me. Children screaming in the halls at 2:00a and dogs barking at all hours. Not a good experience this trip. They get one more time, if its still not quiet. I'll go somewhere else!

After reading some of the reviews I held my breath. There was no reason to! The hotel was everything you would expect a good basic hotel to be. Pleasantly surprised for a super 8 motel..... clean rooms were a must on my list. and they were clean! . The receptionist was very helpful and pleasant....when we arrived and at breakfast...so 2 different people. We would gladly stay there again.!!

We just wanted a good nights sleep and were not concerned with added amenities. We got cleanliness, comfort, quiet, security and the friendliest staff ever. My wife and I stayed one night on a long road trip. The location was great. The hotel and rooms were clean and nice. The staff was.nice and helpful the couple times we saw them. Had difficulty getting a 2 non smoking double bed room. Originally booked smoking room by mistake and the room smelled horrible (apparently expected as people smoke in those rooms). The replacement single queen size room the bed was too small for 2 adults and 1 five year old. They gave us a crib but it was too small for my daughter. This motel was acceptable. I was only there one night, but it seemed about average in most respects. The breakfast was pretty much non-existent. It was conveniently located to I-57 and several restaurants and retail locations.

Our room was clean and comfortable. The hallway reeked of cigarette smoke (especially as you approached the stairwells) but our room was free of that, thankfully. Breakfast was simple; there were no eggs so we augmented our meal from the McDonald's next door. I wouldn't have a problem staying here again.

The room and bathroom were very clean. The room coffee maker and microwave were new and worked ok. The hotel was well used, but acceptable. Our problem concerned the comfort of the room. The king size bed mattress should have been replace years ago. It had a terrible dip. We booked the room for 2 adults. Unfortunately, the bathroom items were stocked […] for 1. We booked a non-smoking room, as my wife is highly allergic to cigarette smoke, and I have asthma. We noticed cigarette smoke in the hall way, lobby and the stairway, as this hotel does not have an elevator! By 2 am we began to smell smoke in our room, but thought it may be coming from the hallway. When we woke at 6:00 am, we had to leave the room, as cigarette smoke had entered our room from the hall and from the air conditioning unit. When we discussed our disappointments with the desk clerk, we heard nothing but excuses. My wife was miserable for the 400 miles remaining on our trip! Buyer be ware! Read more

The Super 8 was a pleasant surprise! Since it's inexpensive, I didn't expect to find all the amenities that come with the more expensive hotels. I was hoping there would be a hair dryer. Over all they stay was very good although the bed was very unfortable for us. It was too hard and we could not sleep well.. The service was very good. The hotel was very secure and very well cozey. I especially liked that there was a 24 hour gas station near the hotel. The only thing that I wa dissapointed was the parking lot was kind of on the small side. But I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who has family near by or just passing on by the town of marion,IL.
