This is a nice hotel, especially for the price. I have been in Canberra for two weeks and this is by far the best quality for the price. I had a great sleep and the staff were friendly. It is a convenient walk to the dining spots in London Circuit, and about 20 minutes to ANU. Hotels in general are super expensive in Canberra and this hotel is quite nice and not far from the action. Highly recommended.

This was a comfortable visit, at a very good price that included an excellent breakfast. It is located a little out of the way, but that is compensated by a quiet neighbourhood. Staff were friendly and cheerful. The pool was clean. There was a little noise in the mornings with closing doors and voices in the corridor. The room is plain, nothng fancy, but the bathroom is new.. We would go here again.

The Canberra Rex is a very attractive hotel, with a helpful and very friendly staff. But I do have to say that it was a long walk to the hotel(I didn't want to wait for the bus), and it didn't have an adequate business center with computers for internet access. They did however have a great breakfast buffet which was included in the price. I would stay there again, but I would take a taxi Please note that they are currently under construction and there will be significant improvements to the hotel, which will enhance and improve the Canberra Rex hotel experience.

After my first experience driving on the opposite side of the road,trying to find the hotel as it was getting dark I arrived pretty stressed out.The staff was very nice and helpful since shortly after I arrived I needed to go to a function and had no idea how to get there.The girl at the front desk googled the directions for me and I was able to make it there.The rooms,beds were very comfortable,clean.

We were coming from the train station so it was nice to have a hotel we could walk to. Very close to all of the sites we were interested in seeing. Less... than 30 minutes to walk to the national library, questacon, parliament house, etc. Was a bit of a hike to get to the war memorial. We didn't have a car so location was very important. Hotel was an excellent value. No frills but whatever, it was clean, staff was friendly, room was quiet. My only minor complaint, wifi was pricey. The hotel was clean and bedding was fresh and crisp - no dull bedspreads. The heater did not work in my room so I was given another room which was a bigger room. In the new room there was no jug so I was given a jug which also did not work, There was no lift and I had a heavy case to carry up to my first floor room with no offer of assistance.

Everything about the accommodation and service was good. The only fault was that the printer, connected to the PC in Reception, was not functioning, but the very helpful receptionist gave assistance by emailing airline boarding confirmation to herself and then printing the documents on her printer, and helped overcome the problem.

The hotel was quite old and a bit run down but everything was clean and the location was certainly convenient. Staff called us to confirm our arrival time which was great service and were accomodating. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant is really good. It was $19/pp for a hot, all you can eat buffet. Similar breakfast at the Hyatt nearby is almost […] $50 so we were very happy. It was easy to find and parking was straightforward and felt pretty safe. Overall very good value. Be warned, the average age of guests were into their 70's when we were there. I think there was a bus tour. Would probably go back again just for the convenient location. Read more

stay was fine. place was clean but the walls were paper thin so kept thinking someone was trying to open the door when in fact it was the neighbour entering their room! its fine if u want a quick stop over stay but wouldnt reccommend it after a 6.5 hour drive from melbourne. not exactly bang for your buck.

Everything was very good except for the restaurant. Limited menu over priced for the food quality. But i would come back.

It was fine. The hotel is a little aged, but everything seemed to work. It was not at all sound proofed, so people coming & going in surrounding units were very audible, but it didn't go on too late. I would have appreciated a comfortable chair, but there really wasn't space for it.

This is a good, reasonably priced hotel. It was close to Manuka and the bus, staff very helpful and friendly. We asked for a quiet room and it was quiet. Pity that breakfast finishes at 9am.

Comfortable stay, though bed was a bit wobbly. Room was clean if a trifle dated in its fittings. Short distance to Art Gallery, parliament. Near to shopping centre with good restaurants.

We once again enjoyed our stay. Everything good, although the location is good for access to most venues, like some other visitors you have to be careful about following directions when driving around the city surrounds !! sometimes perphaps, a cab would be the go....

This motel is obviously aging, but doing so gracefully. The accommodation was cheap but very clean, and the staff were very pleasant. This is excellent budget accommodation for someone wanting a short-term stay in a motel handy to everything in Canberra

The staff were very nice. My room was clean and everything was in good working order. The walls are thin. So noise from adjoining apartments is unavoidable. It's a short walk (5-10mins) from Manuka where there are nice shops and restaurants. There is a bus stop nearby, but Canberra's not an easy place to see without a car.

It looks like the forest is getting a face lift....and the exterior is looking good...we were in room 21 and the toilet bowl had a black ring around i have no idea what it was....and there was mould in the shower....but a bit of TLC will go a long way in the room we had...but it looks like it is have some rejuvination so keep going the location is excellant […] for what we wanted....and the staff were very helpful on directions Read more

Very basic hotel/motel. No room service on a saturday night and don't provide early breakfasts on weekends or alternatives for late check outs. Good location though, close to most Canberra things. Good for an overnight stay but probably wouldn't recommend for much longer than this.

The position of the apartments was great. Easy to get to the bars and restaurants of Manuka. Also near Manuka Oval. Easy access to the southern suburbs by car using the Monaro Highway.
