Super 8 Morgantown

A very relaxing stay. Staff met our needs quickly. It was situated near restaurants and small stores for our convenience. A pleasant stay.

This was a Super 8, not a Ritz. I wanted a place with the 4 criteria listed above. I got it. In addition, even at bargain rates it had a clean, cold mini-fridge and a microwave. Plenty of hot water in the shower, clean room, comfortable bed. Cold air conditioning. I didn't bother with the TV, but the wireless in the room worked just as good as at home. […] Don't forget to ask for the code for the network, it's not written down in the room. Their in-room super mini coffee maker made me a good cup of coffee to get me out the door by 6am. I don't know if they have a "business center" with printer, etc. I doubt it. I don't know if they have a pool or workout room either. I tend to doubt it. But like I said, it was A+ on the basics that you would hope to find. I got exactly what I was looking for. Reservations on Expedia were a snap. Plenty of places to eat a stones throw to walk to. Ruby Tuesday's, Wendy's, and a few others. Good cappuccinos inside Books A Million in the small shopping center as well. For a no-frills comfortable night's rest, I give it a thumbs up. Read more

We had a less than acceptable experience at this hotel. No on was at the front desk upon entry or other times. We had to wait (long time) for someone to appear.The elevator was out of service. We were assigned a non-smoking room on the 3rd floor, but the smoke smell was very strong in the hallway and stairway. The metal bed frame stuck out from both […] beds and one of us was cut on the leg by the metal.The toilet ran constantly. The air conditioner was excessively loud, during the on/off cycle it made a loud clanging sound. There was only cold cereal available for breakfast, very sparse. I arrived at 2:15 (checkin being 3pm) and they would no let me check in a room, stating none were clean yet. I rquested a ground floor room and recieved one on the top floor. They stated none were available even though 5 hours later my inlaws recieved one on the lower level. Granted we were just staying overnight but I was very disappointed in the smell of the room. The room smelled like a bar back when you could smoke! Stale and discusting! Also there was a potato chip, popcorn, and a dirty sock under ther bed. Makes me question if the room was even vacuumed?

This hotel allows pets, and that was evident in our room. The room stank pretty bad, and there was dog food on the floor. The fridge didn't work, either. On the other hand, the windows do open, so we slept with the window open and it wasn't too bad. The hotel needs to work on repairing the flooring in the elevator and to ensure that there are ice machines and vending machines on every floor as they indicate but I found was not so. I was on the 3rd floor and am disabled and there was NO ICE MACHINE AND NO VENDING MACHINE!!!!

Normally I would not have stayed at the Super 8 in Morgantown, since it is a bit far from where I needed to be downtown and not that nice normally. But since there was a big football game the choices were limited. However, I have to say that the rooms were clean, and had some things that I needed such as microwave, small refrigerator, and the location […] is right next to a number of restaurants and a small shopping center, which was convenient. My room had a recliner a mini-fridge, and a microwave. The room was comfortable. Nice flat screen tv. Quite frankly this was the nicest super 8 I've ever stayed at. I was kind of bummed that this was the only hotel available within my company budget when I looked but pleasantly surprised when I got to the room.

this hotel served its purpose. nice room and a good price. morgantown overall is a great area. the staff was a little unprofessional looking. i couldn't tell them apart from the customers. no iron in the room, i had to go down and get an iron and board and take it up to the room. the area is safe and clean which counts the most for me.

Checking is not until 3 PM...could move it up after riding to get there but all in all Super 8 in Morgantown is a nice place to stay for Mountainfest...Plenty of eateries and close to Triple SS Harley Davidson..Quick stop shop and fuel station....Not hard to find and easy to get to from I68...

I will say it is in a very good location but that alone is not enough to justify the cost of the room. Simple attention to detail would make this a good value, i.e. clean (or cleaner looking) sheets, toilets that flush properly and security doors that close behind you. When I pay this much for a room I expect the small details be taken care of.

Soiled carpeting, soiled furniture in the room. I was afraid to touch anything. The bathroom was clean although the face clothes were grayish. Definitely wear shoes in your room, and don't sit on the furniture with shorts on. Seems to be a favorite of construction workers who like to drink and have loud parties at night. Stay elsewhere.

If you are able, choose a different hotel. I don't plan on going back. Towels were not bleached - stained and dirty. Soap/shampoo taken once opened by housekeeping but never replaced. NEVER enough towels - only gave two towels for three people. Rooms are SMALL!! Asked for a quiet room - was given one directly across from the ice maker, kids on the floor […] above were running around in the early AM and you can hear EVERYTHING! Breakfast - is that what it's called? You're better off bringing your own. ONE bagel, ONE muffin...had to request orange juice to be refilled and a fresh muffin. Very clean place, great location at shopping plaza with several places to eat around. Close to highway which helps to get to various parts of Morgantown. When checking in you'll be told to "sign" and "initial". You don't realize it, but you're initialing acknowledgement of a $1.00 per day charge for use of a room safe that isn't explained to you. I couldn't use the safe in the room anyway. It was locked shut. I could hear every sound from the room above me. Breakfast was minimal and they ran out LONG […] before stated hours. I'm glad I wasn't there during a football weekend. Toilet kept running all night, regardless of how many times I flicked the handle. Very convenient to restaurants and just a few miles from the University (football and basketball areas). Room was nice and clean. Sheets didn't exactly fit the bed (corners kept coming undone). Staff was great!

The hotel was fine. Only thing is the coffee pot and some electrical outlets wouldn't work. On check out day which is at 11:00 a.m. the cleaning guy just barged right on in around 9:30 a.m. without even knocking first. Short drive to Mountaineer field and surrounded by restaraunts and shopping, which was very nice. I would stay again.
