Friendly staff. A little dated but clean. "Continental Breakfast" was a box of old doughnuts.

WE DID NOT STAY. WALKED INTO THE ROOM AND WALKED RIGHT BACK OUT. THE SMELL ALONE WAS HORRIBLE. VERY CREEPY

This was a non-smoking facility with smoky-smelling towels and hallways. Breakfast was skimpy, nearly nothing there: old doughnuts, free coffee - that's it. Management was friendly .

We chose the Highland Inn as it is close to our family. It sits right off of HWY 71 at the Flying J Truck Stop so it is very convenient if you're wanting to stay south of Kansas City. The hotel has not been remodeled since opening as far as I can tell. For the most part it was average at best on cleanliness. There was an unwrapped bar of soap on the […] toilet when we arrived. The towels had "H.I." marked on them, I suppose so people would not take them? They had some light stains on them. The rest of the room was not disgusting & the rest of the motel seemed clean - just not what we're used to. There was a refridgerator & microwave in the room. However, no coffee pot or alarm clock. The heater is the kind that you turn the fan on & it blows out hot air. No thermostat. What I did like was that the sink is separate from the bathroom. And, the light in the bathroom was not also the fan - so we could have the bathroom light on without the fan going. It's the small things . . . Breakfast consist of a box of Hostess doughnuts, a toaster & a loaf of bread. The motel was quiet. We felt fairly safe in the neighborhood. We normally stay in motels such as Drury Inn, Super 8 or Comfort Inn. This motel does not match up to any of those. But, if you're not too picky - and you get a good price, it might be ok. However, for us - we will probably try some place in Belton, MO next time. The family that runs the motel are very nice. Read more

The hotel was not well maintained. The sheets had cigarette burns in them & the chair had a large hole in it. The halls and the room smelled like cigarettes, it was supposed to be non smoking. The AC didn't work. The "breakfast" was cheap wax donuts and bread. It shouldn't be called breakfast. For the price we paid, it was a dump.
