The Super 8 is in a perfect location. It was right off the Express way. Close to Walmart and near Meijers for late night needs. There were several restaurants close. It was minutes from Kalahari Resorts. I would definitely stay again. The front desk staff was very accommodating.

I think a little money should be invested in the rooms for updates in decor and carpeting. Also, a nicer dining facility is greatly needed....empty hotel room with tables in it was kind of depressing. Fortunately we didn't spend much time in the room.

Absolutely disgusting! Dirty rooms, clumps of hair everywhere, wrappers everywhere. Wanted to change rooms but the guy at the front desk couldnt figure out how to even unlock a door and charged us even after we paid hotels.com. If it wasn't close to what we needed we would've left.

Beds were nice, clean, and comfy. Bathroom walls were very dirty, mildew covered the grout between the tiles in the shower. Front door of room squeeked, very annoying. Everytime one of us opened the door when others were sleeping, it woke them up. The light bulb on wall above television was burnt out and would not turn on. Hotel is a little dated but cheaper in price. Our first room, was not clean, and when talked to the front desk, they immediately switch room and to accomadate for our inconvience, they upgraded us to a jazcuzzi room.

The room I stayed in smelled moldy and unclean, the safe didn't work, and they put a HBO tv guide on your table but you don't even get it on the TV. It was a cheaper price than other hotels so I can tolerate (but not overlook) these negative qualities.

The hotel's price is reasonable, and is within close proximity to Cedar Point (the focus of our stay). However, these are the hotel's only positive attributes. Upin check-in, we were placed in a room in which the bathroom had not been cleaned (dirty tile grout in the bathroom shower and a floor full of hair), and bed linens which had not been changed […] between guests (hair on the bedsheets). We were placed in a different room. This room had similiar bathroom cleaning problems, though the bed linens did appear to be clean. However, we noticed a plastic juice container left on the floor. Prior to leaving for Cedar Point the next day, we noticed that our in-room safe did not work. The front desk offered to transfer us to yet another room, though at this point we just decided to accept the risk and stay put. Never go to this hotel, even if you are trying to save a few dollars. The staff was friendly and the service was good, but the room was smelly and only 1 out of 5 lights worked and the toilet didn't flush properly (you have to jiggle the handle every time). Price seemed a bit high for the room we received. "Breakfast" was essentially a few cereal dispensers and a toaster. The electronic safe in the room suffered a battery failure, which the front desk could not fix. Upon Check-in we were placed in a room that had a very strong Cat urine odor. we got moved to another room. in inspecting both rooms their were cobwebs in numerous locations in each room. small scraps of trash were found on the floor. Both indicated to me that housekeeping was less than adequate. The room was clean enough, but the staff couldn't manage to make the key cards work for us, SO THEY GAVE US A MASTER KEY FOR OUR ROOM. That means that we could have opened anyone's room if we'd wanted to. Of course we didn't, but I wonder how many people were given a master key and could have gotten into OUR room if they wanted to. The manager said that we looked trustworthy since we were a family, so she didn't think it would be a problem to give us the master key. The pool was half empty because it had a crack in it, so the kids couldn't swim. The toilet rocked when you sat on it. I was uncomfortable staying here. I switched to the LaQuinta down the street for $40 more per night but my families comfort and the cleanliness was well worth it. I would have not stayed at Super 8 the first night but I didn't know how easy it would be to cancel and get my money back plus at that time we didn't realize the ice machine was on the wall […] behind our beds (room 115) and we would here it making ice late at night. Also, breakfast was sketchy both on quality and selection and the shower drain clogged and each one of us had to stand in still water in the tub in the morning. That sealed the deal for me. Expedia gave a refund for my second night without any hassle when I explained the situation and the hotel did not charge me anything for cancelling my second night either. My guess is they're used to people leaving early. Read more

When I book (and pay for) a room for 5 adults I expect there to be sleeping for 5, not 2 double beds and "if you want a roll-away you have to haul it up the stairs yourself and pay $10."

There was some sort of stain (I'd like to believe it was NOT blood) on the side of the box spring which did not have any sort of bed skirt on it obviously. We got a king size smoking room with THREE pillows (for double occupancy!) one ashtray and one garbage can, like really? You can't spend the couple bucks and put maybe 1 more of each in the room??? […] Just generally the room felt dirty and we didn't want to be bothered moving or acquiring add'l costs.
