This hotel was adequate for our one night stay, but if I had been on vacation I would have been sorely disappointed. The hair dryer did not work, and the front desk did not seem to care. The location is VERY convenient to downtown, but do not expect any luxuries. It had a cheap feel to it.

The hotel offered good value for money. The room was clean, and they included a mini fridge and a microwave in it. There was a bit of outside noise from the neighborhood, but it wasn't too bad. The air conditioning unit was a bit loud every time it switched on though. Overall I would recommend it, and they provided a free breakfast as well, with muffins, cereal, banana, juice, and doughnuts.

I chose this hotel for the close proximity to the downtown area for a wedding I was attending. It was a reasonable walk, which was great. What was not great were the somewhat rowdy weekend partiers that also decided to stay there, and the tired state of the rooms. We had to push back the curtains so the air conditioner would blow into the room and not up into the curtains (useless). The breakfast choices were small but the juice was good. There were numerous little things that went wrong (keys didn't work, hair dryer broke, etc.) but the management immediately fixed the problems.

We came to see the Congress Ave. Bats and the young lady working the desk was able to point us in the right direction and gave us information on the public transit and a great recommendation for a BBQ place! The breakfast was OK too. For being near the highway, the room was fairly quiet and the heating/cooling, which can be problems in many hotels, also worked well! I always figure that I'm not going to be in the room much anyway, but it was clean, comfortable and a good deal price wise. I would stay there again.

The air-conditioner did not work properly- the labels on controls were erased or missing. Water did not flush in the tub, the toilet seat was stained and "uninviting". The front desk refused to keep luggage after check-out as I was leaving the town later in the day. His explanation: The luggage is not locked and he can vouchsafe for (character) of other workers!. I reminded him that I had left my luggage unlocked in room during my stay without any problem, with no avail! I had to lug around luggage during my meetings during early morning and afternoon. Will never stay in a Super8, particularly this one!

According to the rather unfriendly staff, we had no choice but to book a smoking room, even though a non-smoking room was unoccupied. The smokey smell of the room was intoxicating, so bring your own sheets and air freshener/candle. All in all, the room had the amenities that you'd expect and was sufficient for a one-night trip. I wouldn't book it if I planned to spend a lot of time in it, though. We intended to walk around downtown and just use the room for a place to shower and sleep. Those expectations were met. The room was just extremely smokey and the staff was not helpful. The location and price were unbeatable, though.

This motel is best for convenience. It has been remodeled inside, as of Jan 2009. The motel gets to full capacity on weekends, and there was a lot of noise from other guests and the nearby freeway. If you want to stay somewhere relaxing and quiet, this is not your motel. But if you will be out for most of your stay, and don't mind some noise, stay here.

Thank you for a hotel with ADEQUATE outlets for laptop, cell phone charger etc. It was nice not to have to rip out the alarm clock just to charge the cell phone. AND the ironing facility, hair dryer, refrigerator and microwave were helpful, especially to one who needed to be there for more than one day. The bathroom, however, lacked a stopper for the bathtub; for one who likes to take a restful bath, this was a problem. The bathroom also needed updating where fixtures were concerned. Its cleanliness made it less of a problem.

After reading previous reviews, I did not have high expectations at all. The front desk personnel was, however, one of the most friendly and efficient people I have ever met. The rest of the hotel was mostly as expected: standard restrooms, a bare bathroom (it sort of felt like prison), and my room was right next to the laundry services. But everything was surprisingly clean and I was delighted that there were no cockroaches.

The hotel was fine for the needs that we had. We just needed a room with clean sheets and a cheap rate close to the places we wanted to go. The hotel is not updated and some of the wear and tear could be mistaken for dirty. Still I thought the room was cleaned well everyday. We will stay there again on our next trip to Austin. Can't beat the price that close to downtown. Also, it's on a good bus route.
