Lovely staff. Comfy rooms. Great location. Breakfast too crowded. Responsive staff who immediately responded to our needs. Would stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Not a happy Traveler"
The staff except for one man was rude, slow, and act like it was there first day. The rooms did not get cleaned until 4 pm even thought they get there to clean at 10 am. The building was rundown and was not appealing. The first day there I found food still in my room and I would leave my trash in a bag in the tub with used towels and had to find dumpster […] myself. The free Wi-fi lets be honest it sucked. I would not stay there again if given the option, Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Close to the Dirty 6 and food trucks. Would stay here again for the rate and how close it is to a lot of things. Easy/short cab to many places as well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Inexpensive, good location, bad customer service."
The issue that I have is that I had to leave a day early due to an unexpected death in the family that I found out about upon arrival to my destination. I called hotels.com two days before I had to leave for the funeral and they did everything they should have done to get me a possible refund for the last day I was supposed to stay there, and was given […] confirmation by them and the front desk that everything would be taken care of and there would be no problem with getting a refund. Front desk even showed me in their books and the fax that hotels.com sent them, so I assumed nothing else would need to be done. I knew it may take a week or so for the refund to show back up on my card. I gave it two weeks and called to see why I hadn't been refunded yet. Now the manager of the hotel is saying that I did not tell them I was checking out early even though he admits that he did receive the information well ahead of time, and is not willing to give me my refund. I have no problem with hotels.com, but this is shady of the managers of this hotel. Don't tell me to my face that everything is ok and that I will be refunded and then go back on your word, that's just poor customer service. If they would have told me that I couldn't have the refund from the beginning, I would have understood and been fine with it. But, now I will never stay here again and will do everything I can to keep others from staying here. I strongly dislike dishonest businesses. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Noisy and sour waffle dough!"
This is a motel next to the freeway so very noisy. It is convenient located to Downtown area. The place is just for a night sleep. They say they have breakfast but even the waffle dough was sour! I wouldn't satay here again! There are better choices at the same price in the other side of the freeway where at least breakfast is not spoiled.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall A Good Stay"
I had some trouble with the reservation right off the bat, the man I spoke with on the phone (an older man with a pretty thick accent) was extremely rude. He continuously interrupted me and argued with me, but we eventually got it sorted out. Once we got there, we were checked in by another person who was very efficient and polite, and we had an otherwise […] flawless weekend. They were clean, easy to get too and very tolerant of us, as I'm sure we were a smidge loud. Rocky Start, but I will definitely stay here again if I need a good place close to 6th street. "Cheap but it works"
This is a kind of shabby motel. There are bars on from floor to ceiling on the balcony over the pool. The exterior looks shady. But they are remodeling now, and my room had faux hardwood floors, which was nice. The bed was ok, not awesome but not bad. The breakfast was meager, nothing but cheap gas station carb snacks & a waffle maker. I played music […] from my phone at my table when I was in there by myself, since there was no music. The front desk guy came and asked me to turn it off! In Austin! Weird. It's close to downtown though, which is nice. If you can't afford anything nicer, this place works. We knew not to expect much, and it wasn't fabulous but did the job! We just wanted a cheap place to stay overnight and it did the trick.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We paid at least twice as much as the normal rate because it was the weekend of the Austin Marathon and Half Marathon, and definitely did not get what we paid for. When I called to ask what exit off of I-35 the hotel was, the guy on the phone said 131C (it was 234A). We had trouble finding it because the giant Super 8 light was off (and we were driving […] at night). When I told the desk clerk that it was out, he didn't seem to care. They ran out of Austin maps. There was construction going on in surrounding rooms, so it was noisy most of the time. The room smelled, there were minimal amenities (they didn't even have tissues in the room), and the walls were paper thin. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Horrible experience with staff."
Four times I was approached in the parking lot about moving my car because they were working on parking lot. Twice was in the dark and I didn't know the man worked for the hotel and it scared me. I moved my car twice to area they said was okay and then still kept asking me to move, They would not allow me to use a restroom in the lobby when I arrived. […] The sign said no public restrooms but, I was staying for four nights. They also had construction that was worked on late in the evening that kept me up. Every time I exited my room there was heavy cigarette smoke. The hotel would not give me a bill of any sort claiming Expedia had to and Expedia would not give me an itemized bill. "It's a cheap hotel with bad service, close to city"
The manager stopped breakfast an hour early on Saturday, so we had to pay an extra 20 bucks for breakfast in the city that we weren't expecting. When we asked him about it closing early, he lied and said it was only open till 10 on Sunday. It wasn't until we pointed to the permanent sign by the door that said breakfast went till 10 both Saturday and […] Sunday that he apologized. Staff is fine but treats you like you're cheap because the hotel is cheap. If the price hadn't been low, I never would have stayed. Stay here if you're traveling on a budget and want a room to sleep in. It's close to downtown and better than sleeping in a dumpster. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Will be great when construction is finished"
We chose this motel for its location and price. The room was a pleasant surprise - it had obviously been renovated recently, with wood and tile floors and fresh paint. Replacing the standard hotel carpet (which is usually suspicious at best) with wood is a fantastic idea because you can easily see that the floor has been cleaned. The room also had a […] nice TV with HBO, comfortable queen-size beds, a microwave, and a small refrigerator. It definitely exceeded my expectations for the price. The only negative thing I have to say about the experience is that the motel is still under construction. There was a sign in the lobby, but I don't remember seeing anything about the construction when I booked the room online. Once I was checking in and saw the sign it was a bit late to make other arrangements. The noise started at 7 am and was only 2 or 3 rooms down, so it was very disruptive. The renovations are unavoidable and are definitely increasing the value of the motel, but I wouldn't recommend staying here until they finish unless you want a 7 am wake up call. it was a nice room but there is not security at all, some couple fighting outside like at 3am and this lady crying and hitting the door in the next room, until she broke a window. and keep fighting with the guy. that's the bad thing only. the rest it was ok the room was clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Some issues that should have been resolved"
I am older single lady in my seventh decade.. They placed me in a room next to a group of Spanish speaking rowdy, beer drinking males who were loud. The management had to notice the boxes of empty beer and be able to hear the loud men. because the were on the edge of a U shape that was immediately across from the office. Also the chair leg broke as […] soon as I sat down. I left the chair with a note in front of the door. The chair was removed, but not replaced. I had no chair to sit at the table to write or work on my computer for the three days I was there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Passable hotel stay"
The location of the hotel was really great for the price - we could have walked to some of the more popular areas in the downtown Austin area if we had wanted to cross 35 on foot. The room was pretty comfortable - it came with a mini fridge and microwave and coffeemaker. The bathroom was clean but the bed sheets had weird red and black stains on them. […] There was also a red stain on the wall...The service was subpar and the "continental" breakfast was even worse. The highlight of the potential breakfast was the Texas shaped waffles. However, the circuit breaker blew out multiple times while we were getting breakfast which meant really gooey waffles, minimal access to coffee and juice, and really not much else to eat (unless you like plain toast for breakfast). The hotel management didn't seem to know how to fix the problem and were not very apologetic about it nor did they try to find an additional solution for all the people who went without breakfast that morning. For the price, however, I can't complain too much! For a night's stay - it was definitely fine, but I wouldn't stay here for an extended stay by any means. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

It would be nice to know ahead of time that there is only one parking spot per room. Thank you to the sweet lady and gentleman who found a spot for me to park. Also, when you ask your patrons to smoke out side of the room, do not charge them because it smells like smoke. They are smokers and it is on their clothes. Wash the sheets and the odor will […] be gone. Hope that extra $100 charge covers your laundry bill. And when I am trying to explain that we followed the rules don't hang up on me. "Medium value for little money: good deal"
Just fine for traveling alone. Checkin was quick and easy; one of the two beds was comfortable; the hair-tie from a previous occupant was offset by a nickel in the bathroom; hot water was plentiful once I figured out how to work around the faulty shower diverter valve; towels and the new TV were first-rate; and I got to make a Texas-shaped waffle at […] breakfast. Great price for location . Rooms are not the nicest , but if you just need a place to sleep and take a shower it's good. The free breakfast is nice , good waffles and orange juice ! Free parking and wi-fi. I would stay here again, but I wouldn't stay here with my family it's a little to grimmey for that.Genuine Expedia guest review
We stayed at this hotel 11/22-11/25/13 and booked it as part of a package on expedia. The biggest issue I had with this hotel was the towel rations. We had 2 women and 2 men in our room and we only had 3 large towels. When we asked for more towels the front desk told us we had to bring the dirty towels and they would give us clean towels, you get exactly […] what you turn in (they counted our dirty towels and gave us the exact count back clean) they would not give us any extra towels. This was a huge inconvenience since I use 2 towels when I shower (one for hair, one for body) and so does the other women that was with us. So we couldn't all get ready without someone running their dirty towels to the front desk to get clean towels for the next person to use. (our room was at the opposite end from the lobby). Besides that the stay was ok. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"The necessities in downtown."
If you only need a bed and shower, this place is great. The area around is a bit suspect - especially a night - and littered with homeless. The staff was friendly enough and provided everything I asked for. Fenced and gated parking, if that tells you anything. I'd stay here again, but I wouldn't recommend it to a friend.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Close to downtown but no frills"
If you're going to Austin and you want to be close to Downtown without having to pay downtown hotel prices, this is an option. It's not a particularly nice place, but if all you need is a bed, a shower, wi-fi and a place to park at night, it's not bad. The bathroom door didn't shut, which wasn't a big deal for me -- since I was there alone, but your […] mileage may vary. Also, the little alarm clock on the nightstand kept switching to different time. Thank goodness I had a separate alarm clock to back up the wake-up call system (which I generally don't trust at ANY hotel). The staff was friendly, especially the nice guard who made sure I had a parking pass before parking there at night. Seriously, he could not have been a nicer person. Not a GREAT place, but I was looking for cheap and it served my needs. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

It was only a few minute drive from downtown/capitol/south congress/UT which was great, but it really wasn't very pleasant. If I could afford it, I would've stayed elsewhere.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
After staying at the Palisade Palms in Galveston for 5 days, and the Hyatt Place the night before, and despite our trepidation, my wife and I spent 2 nights here and overall, not bad for the price. Real reasonable. Room was clean, (they like an orange cleaner!) and quiet for the most part. There was a couple arguing at 5:30 a.m., but I do not blame […] the hotel for that. Bed was not bad for us and the room was in fair condition with a fridge and microwave. Did not use pool. Breakfast was fine and coffee pretty good. The best though was location. 4 blocks or so to the capitol and 10-12 blocks to the 6th Street scene. We did not feel uncomfortable walking to or from downtown, but my wife said she would not do it alone. Staff was great especially Smita!!!
