This is a wonderful little hotel about five blocks from the train station. it is quaint like staying at your grandmother;s house with pretty wallpaper and antique furniture ,The people at the front desk are helpful and very accommodating. Once can walk a few blocks to cafe s for an apertif , coffee and nice little restaurants are around. It really should […] be called three star . We stayed in Ruoen to visit my daughter at the business school there. My wife and I wanted a hotel where we would get a true French experience. From the large fireplace in the sitting room to the winding staircase (no ground floor rooms or elevator so if you can't handle stairs not the place for you) to the old school design this hotel was appropriate […] for the area of town it is in. We were able to walk to the train station (took the train there from Paris) and to the bus stop as well as to all of the sites in the old section of town. Church of Joan of Arc, several cathedrals, patio restaurants, bakeries, chocolate shops, an outdoor market, the Gross Horloge and other incredible sites within walking distance. The staff spoke excellent English and was quick with recommendations and stored our bags for us after we checked out as we rented a car and spent 3 days in upper Normandy prior to heading to Paris. The room was roomier than I have heard traditional European hotel rooms tend to be and the bed very comfortable - slept like a baby every night there. The bathroom is small but excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water. Did not find any English speaking TV stations but if I had wanted to watch American TV I would have stayed home. Can't say enough about the character of the hotel or the service that the staff provided. Read more

Typical, rather old-fashioned French hotel. Small double bedroom with tiny shower-room in the corner. It is very clean and the staff are helpful. It is very central,which made it an excellent place to stay for our three day visit to Rouen. Not the place for a fortnights holiday or a honeymoon but if we return to Rouen we would stay there again.

If you are traveling by train this one is for you. It takes only 5 minutes from Rouen station. It is located near Donjon. If you are searching only cheap budget hotel this one is for you. Very kind and helpful staffs who speak English welcome you. Down side is that this hotel is old so as the facilities. The wall must be so thin. You could hear people […] talking and noise. The hook for sower head was broken has not been fixed. Breakfast was supposed to start 8:00 am but I have to wait 15 minutes to be served. They should make it self-service. Croissant was still frozen inside. Coffee in a pot was lukewarm. But they kindly provide sachet of coffee and tea and Kettle in a tray in a room. So you can make your own. So there are good and bad points choice is yours. Read more

Lovely old-style hotel with old-world touches of furniture and fittings. Quaint, charming, homely and comfortable, if basic. A very attentive new owner who is responsive to all your needs. Do not expect modernity and luxuries, but Le Morand offers excellent value for money if you have an eye for character and tradition.

This was our first experience at staying at a 2 star hotel in France so we had no idea what to expect, We used previous tips provided to fing the hotel on our sat nav. We found the hotel no problem but parking the car to unload was a nightmare as Rue Morand is a one way street with very little car parking. The hotel is very old and is not part of a […] chain so what we had was what the owner had thought constituted a excellent hotel. If you accept that the hotel is over 300 years old and has survived 2 major wars then you get some idea of wht to expect, There is no lift but a a circular staircase up to the rooms, each room is said to be individual, ours certainly was the room was not very clean lots of dust on light fittings etc but the bathroom was fairly new had a modern shower. Breakfast was excellenent plently of coffee and bread and jams metc. The owners spoke excellent english, explained about the car parking arrangements which is in the main underground car park in the main square by the art galley, plenty of CCTV cameras about in the garage so the car was safe, also the hotel had a deal whereby it costs 7 Euros a day to park instead of 14 Euros a day, If we stayed again I would take the car to the garage first and then go to the hotel as its about 2 mins walk from the garage . We'd read the reviews before booking and could see that most people were very happy. The hotel was as expected - quirky - and excellently located, only a few minutes walk from most of the city centre sights. Even though we arrived rather late, the owner greeted us in a very friendly manner and our room was a treat - a real old-style room with lots of […] charm. The only minor compaints would be that the bed had a bolster instead of pillows - rather uncomfortable, the shower had no curtain and breakfast was rather pricey. If you don't mind slanty floors, walls and ceilings this place is great! Very friendly service and good breakfast, would recommend. Parking at the train station round the corner was €12 for 12 hours.

bon emplacement, accueil pro, chambre bien équipée et pleine de charme, enfin un rapport qualité prix exceptionnel. Ma chambre n'était pas très grande, mais aménagée avec goût. Je vous recommande vivement cet hôtel pour un séjour affaires ou touristique. Je passe au moins 50 nuits à l'hôtel depuis 20 ans.....j'ai donc une certaine habitude!

La habitación que nos dieron era diminuta, con dos camas de 7. Un baño que habían hecho dentro de la habitación de forma chapucera con una puerta de persiana que no cerraba , peor que una chabola. Nada que ver con las fotos que se ven del hotel en internet.

Very nice little hotel, super-friendly staff and nice rooms. The room was clean and spacious, I appreciated the kettle with tea and coffee in the room. The breakfast was good, maybe a little bit overpriced for 7.50 euros, but the ambience of the room with wooden tables and classical music playing was really nice. The hotel is near the town center, […] and very close to the station, so that's another very good point. Only small faults were the lack of a lift (really a minor thing for me) and the lack of air conditioning (but again, it's very uncommon to have very hot weather in Rouen). Overall, for the very cheap price of the rooms I would definitely reccomend this hotel and I'll try to go there again next time I'll go to Rouen. Read more
