We chose this hotel due to the fact that it was only 1/2 mile from the start of the Melbourne Music Marathon. I have stayed in many Super 8 Motels and generally give them great reviews. This hotel was extremely run down. The odor in the lobby and hallway leading to the room was horrible. The bedding appeared newer. The furniture was OK, it was the building […] itself that needs serious renovations. The hot water only worked in the shower by turning the knob completely to hot then it made loud banging noises the entire time. We were in a downstairs room and could here the people upstairs every time they moved in their bed and every time they urinated. The traffic outside was very loud as well. Unless you want to be close to whatever is nearby, I would stay somewhere else. It was perfect being able to walk to our race and back to our room afterward! Read more

We stay in Super 8's regularly, but this one was in need of plenty of repair. The toilet was stopped up and the desk tried to give me a plumbers helper. NOT!!!!! The shower curtain rod was barely held up and needed to be replaced. We will stay in Super 8's again, but not this one!!!

Me and my fiance stayed there for 3 nights and the room was grate for the price that was payed. The old Indian guy that owns the place was kinda rude. I asked for non smoking cuz I have asthma and my fiance thinks it is disgusting. The man looked at us and kept persisting that we were not alowed to smoke in the rooms and if we did we would have to pay […] an extra fee. We both said we did not smoke and my fiance pointed out I had asthma. He rolled his eyes at us and handed us are room key and added that we were the only ones alowed in the room and if he found out about anyone else staying in are room there would be an extra fee. This hotel is tolerable for the price. The rooms are very clean. The beds are not very comfortable however. I have to make many over night stays in Melbourne and this motel will work for me. Nothing fancy just a place to lay my head.

The room was clean and comfortable. The Indian man that runs the place must be trying to cut back on expenses as the hallways were never air conditioned. The proximity to the beach was maybe 2 miles, where every kind of restaurant or bar was available. Enjoyed our stay there, but would definitely choose a hotel with more amenities next time.

PROS:none CONS: unfriendly staff, smelly rooms, noisy, very poor breakfast (minimal), way too expensive for the lack of quality offered (maybe worth $29 per night, not more), make sure you look for bed bugs before going to bed, didn't see any bugs but ths doesn't mean there are none, wet carpet, smoking smell on the hallways, old building, small parking […] lot, leakage stain on the ceiling, hotel in desperate need of renovation, rust everywhere OTHER: we stayed there for one night only (few hours actually) and our clothes still have that awful tobacco smell. I did the Melbourne-Musik-Marathon. The Hotel was very close to the Start/Finish and therfore it was extremly confortable for the runners, special also the shower after the race. Next year I wil come again.

The counter staff were nice but the owners who were visiting at the time had nothing but scowls on their faces and didn't even acknowledge a group of us as we sat outside at their only picnic table. We secured a great rate for this hotel, but after staying there, I know why... The room was clean and comfortable, but the walls were paper thin. We could hear everything others said and did in the rooms next to and above us. In addition, basic things like the toilet paper dispenser, door knobs, etc. did not work (or were missing).

Not sure what all the terrible reviews were about. The room is fine, just what my partner and I have come to expect throughout the course of our roadtrip. The halls do have an unpleasant smell, but other than that no complaints. Security Guard patrols the grounds and night, though we are informed the area is safe.
