The room furniture was very worn, but functional. The room and bed were comfortable.

Continental breakfast consisted of waffels, dry cereal, and bagels. We got alot of room noise from those above us, so next time I'll request an upstairs room.

Room was not very clean, everything was very run-down and smelled bad. Breakfast ran out by 8:30. Staff was not very friendly. We stayed at a brand new Hyatt in Bellevue, WA only a week before for less! I can't believe how much they charge for a terrible room. NEVER staying again.

My wife and I stayed at this motel for three days at the end of August this year. On our first day back at home, we both began to show signs of scabies, which are mites that burrow under your skin and release toxins that cause red and itching bumps. They more commonly referred to as bedbugs, and they are passed from person to person easily through sharing of clothing and bed linens. In other words, this hotel is inexcusably unclean when it comes to sanitizing sheets and mattresses. We went to the doctor on our second day home, and his first question to us was whether we had stayed in any 'questionable' motels recently. It no longer seems a coincidence that this motel has the cheapest rates in Carlsbad. Scabies is greatly irritating for anyone, but it is most threatening to young children and the elderly. Please do your family a favor by paying a little extra to stay at a different hotel.

Prior to my trip I had looked up several different reviews on this hotel, some good and some bad. Overall it was a very nice hotel with very clean rooms, friendly desk service and a wonderful location. The only downside that comes to mind is that for me, being six feet tall, the shower head was too short. My 5'1" girlfriend on the other hand had no problems with it.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed my stay. But I felt that the room could had been a little cleaner. When looking just below the surface you could see a bottle cap behind the refrigerator, and alot of dust. The bathrooms were clean, but the towel bar broke. The staff were very friendly and attentive; and overall I would stay there again.

Nice place to stay for price, breakfast in morning was weak however, nice rooms, well kept, pool was not operating at time.
