my boyfriend and i stayed here so we could spend some time with family without having to drive all the way home late at night. The hotel room was fine for what we essentially needed (sleep and showering) though the first night I had a hard time falling asleep because even though we were in a non-smoking room the sheets smelled a bit smokey, they must […] be washed with the smoking room sheets. The free continental breakfast sounded good but after seeing they only offered two types of cereal, a store bought container of mini cinnamon buns, bread and waffles stored in plastic drawers and coffee that tasted/smelled like burned popcorn I would reccommend going elsewhere for food, especially since there were only about 7 tables that were all filled up without anyone willing to move (caused us to miss out on breakfast our last morning so we checked out early). The carpeting was old and torn. There was a horrible odor in the hallways. When we were walking through, I was worried our room would smell. Luckily, the room was fine. Pillows were flat, so we went and bought our own.

The hotel is older. The hallways are warm, and smell smoky in places. Once to our room it was ok. It was clean, and the bathroom had been updated. There is no elevator at the hotel. We had a room on the second floor which was hard for my 87 year old mother to get to, up a long flight of stairs. So if you cannot do stairs, get a room on the first floor. […] I would prefer the second floor, as the first floor windows, have cars parked right outside your window. There were no other rooms to switch to, as the place was booked with a fishing tournament. This is an older hotel, indoor pool is small, and it smells of smoke. However, the price was great, the included breakfast was ok, just cereal and small buns, toast, and waffles. But for a couple of nights, it was fine. They are trying to do a good job with what they have. Our cleaning person did a great job on our room. What more could you ask for? Read more

I found it a bit disconcerting that the doors to come in from outside the hotel did not require card keys -- they were just unlocked, even when we returned after dark. I also thought it was pretty gross when I stumbled upon the maintenance man putting ice from the catch basin back into the machine. Yuck!

We stayed here for graduation weekend for SUNY Plattsburgh. The Super 8 was easy off and easy on route 87. Our rooms were designated NON SMOKING, as were all the rooms nearby... People were smoking in the hallway; very disappointing. The room wasn't the cleanest to stay in, but it was only 2 nights.

My stay was fine. I did note the door to the room needed lock repair as it had been badly damaged. The room was pleasent and very will cleaned and neat. I would stay with out question at another Super 8. Thank you to the staff for a pleasent experience.

A friend of mine and I stayed in this Super 8 Motel in Plattsburgh last week and were disappointed because the beds were visibly worn and deteriorated and the sheets in my bed had stains and hair - Yuck! When I brought this to the attention of the night manager, he promptly moved me to a new room, but that one smelled strongly of clorine bleach, which […] altough it did help me feel like it was cleaner than the first room, it did make getting a good night sleep more difficult. We probably should have asked to be moved one more time, but it was already too late, and we were just too tired after our long drive. Had room with 2 double beds. Beds seemed extra small. Pillows were very flat. There was a stain on the floor. The heat had not been turned on prior to us arriving thus it was ice cold in the room when we got there.

For half the price of a night at most other cheap hotels, you can't argue. The hotel is clean and safe, even though the neighborhood has seen better days. The hotel is close to the interstate, close to the ferry landing, and close to downtown. The wifi signal is poor anywhere except the main office and even the non-smoking rooms are greatly affected […] by the smoking rooms downstairs. In our room, the toilet and tub were in the bathroom and the sink was where a closet normally would be found. very good, the maintenence staff quickly responded to a problem with the toilet flush. The reception lady is very polite and gave good directions to Ausable chasm. The complimentary breakfast was good with english muffins/ bread/milk/cereal/juice/coffee.

I've been to other Super 8 hotels and my experience has been that they are basic but decent. This hotel looks old and worn and it has a generally shabby appearance on the inside. Even the air in the hallways smelled stale. There was a huge bug on the wall of our room, When we took showers the water stayed in the bathtub and I was told by the front desk […] that it seemed to be happening to all the guests. They do have a free continental breakfast but it is as basic and cheap as you can get. I would definately not go back. The beds were terribly uncomfortable and they looked awful, stained, and old. The carpets were dirty, stained, and actually dirty around the edges where the vaccuum didn't meet. The indoor pool that was promised in the advertisement and the sign outside, was in disrepair. We had opted for a non smoking room, it was clear that it was a smoking motel. When you entered any part of the motel, you were hit with the thick smell of cigarettes.

What you would expect of a Super 8. Hotel service was good, breakfast was fine, hotel was convenient near I-87. The hallways did smell smokey and the beds were a little old and creaky. But I had no issues with the hotel, as I wasn't in it very long.
