I was able to check in early. This was very helpful. There was an issue with drainage in the shower but the staff was able to get us another room with out any issues. The staff on hand was very helpful in regards to questions and or resolving issues.

This is a very inexpensive place to stay, but clean. It's an older place and we thought it was supposed to have a pool and whirlpool, but didn't. Staff was friendly. Bathroom was outdated and needed some cosmetic work. Too much furniture for the size of the room. Close to Happy Chef and easy access.

For the little amount I paid for the room it took me by surprise. It was good enough. Bathroom ceiling was moldy, and as a whole the room was a little worn, and dated. But for the low price, I can't complain too much. As we walked down the hall it smelled very clean, like soap. I was pleasantly surprised.

It's close to a Happy Chef and gas station right off Hwy 169 coming into Mankato. Nothing fancy but the room was clean and everything worked. If you get a good deal on it, take it. If it's close to the Microtel rates, go there instead.

Arrived and asked desk person a question about the area. He didn't know. He then gave room key to me and I had to ask where the room was. He was not friendly. No elevator in the building so if you plan to have a lot of luggage I would not recommend this hotel. Check out was not any better. We were very satisfied with our stay. The hotel staff was very helpful. The room had refrigerator and microwave and a hot waffle breakfast was included. Only problem was the sink drain would not stay closed.

1) The AC unit in the room sounded like a jet engine 2) I requested a 5:30 am wakeup call. The call never happened. Fortunately, I had my phone set with a 5:45 alarm as a backup. Since I was 15 behind schedule, I did not have time to register a complaint with the front desk.

We were in a "no smoking" room, but when the exhaust fan was on in the bathroom it sucked in the smoke from the hallway. Also noticed the coffee pot in the room (which we didn't use, luckily) had some left over coffee in it with a nice growth of mold on it...interesting maybe if you are a biologist. To top it off, my wife accidentally left a sweater […] in the room when we checked out. When I called the front desk a day later to see if it had been turned in to their lost and found, it hadn't. We were in a smoking room (we were not given an option for nonsmoking). Really smelled. We were in bottom-level room so half in ground. Humid/damp. It was hot and humid outside, too, when we were there. Ran the air conditioning on/off (it was loud). Maybe a 2nd level room would not have this dampness/odor. My family had stayed at this motel a few years again and it was in notably poorer condition. The pool and hottub were no longer available and the air-conditioning in the room struggled to keep up with the 90+ degree weather.

The AC barely worked....it was a window unit. The floors were not cleaned between furniture. The toilet bowl was black like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile. I wish I had paid $10 more to get a nicer hotel...maybe I would have slept better. The one thing they have going is that you can. walk across the parking lot to happy chef if you get hungry.

Worst towels ever. They were so thin they were more like dish towels. One of the face cloths was stained and looked dirty. The air condintioner was loud and made sleeping difficult. On our trips back to Mankato, we will not stay here again.

When I arrived, I was told they had no room for me as they were sold out, overbooked, in the negative. I gave them the confirmation # and itenerary #. They said someone on your end of the process over rode their system and accepted the confirmation. I only got a room because there was a person who had booked several rooms and someone in their group […] cancelled. The coffee pot had coffee in it that had to have been there awhile because mold was growing in the pot. I emptied the pot and rinsed it with hot water, then left water in it, in the bathroom so they would see that it needed to be cleaned. When I returned to the room that evening, the pot was still in the bathroom where I left it. The coffee packets and additives were were still laying on the desk. It looked like the only thing that was done to the room was the bed was made and the little bit of garbage in the waste can was removed. The sheets were not changed or even straightened. I admit I did not request a hotel with a pool, but I have stayed at this hotel before and was surprised when I found out the pool and hot tub were no longer available. Read more

We were suppose to be in a non-smoking room. I even had to sign something stateing that if they found we were smoking in the room we would be charged extra. When we went in the room there was no no-smoking sign on the door, cigarette burns in the carpet and ashes between the bed and nightstand. The floor also felt damp. I immediatly went and told the […] front desk staff about it. We had the room for two nights. The maid service came in while we were gone and straightened up the room but never vacuumed up the ashes, (Ifound that to be kind of gross). The evening front desk staff was not very informative or willing to help much. The morning front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant! This hotel was not the greatest. The room had no closet and the rack intended to hang your clothes on had a table under it. The window drapes wouldn't move on the traverse rod, so we couldn't let light into the room. The heater/air conditioner had a plastic frame that wasn't attached and kept falling off. The breakfast was minimal.
