Super 8 Motel - Auburn/Finger Lakes Area - Auburn

This was a nice place but it was kind of remote. We stayed here while visiting Syracuse, but it was a bit far. The breakfast was pretty much coffee and cereal and donuts. Again, ok but nothing special. Rooms were clean and staff was very nice. Overall a nice place.

The stay was just that...a stay. Nothing spectacular, nothing to really rave about. The room smelled a little funny but we think that might have been the cleaners used. Even though the rooms are non-smoking, there is still quite the strong stench of tabacco on the walls and in the carpet through out the hall ways and stair ways. The continental breakfast […] was nice. I would recommend putting a canister of hot water out so that guests can have hot tea, cocoa or oat meal. Room was very nice with a king size bed and a nice big rocker/recliner chair. Plenty of towels. Had a little trouble regulating the heat but it wasn't a big deal. Basically, we just slept there after a wedding and left the next morning. There was no continental breakfast @ 9 a.m. We are not early risers. I had over all a good experience, the room was clean and everything necessary was there.The rate was the best I could find in the area. I had some trouble with the key to enter the room but that was quickly fixed and one of the electrical outlets in the room was loose so I had to switch the plug of the refrigerator for it to work.

This hotel is off the beaten path across from an industrial building in need of demolition. It is old and seriously needs updating, carpet etc. It is beyond what any cleaner could help. I stayed in this hotel over the Thanksgiving weekend. I'm not sure they allow smoking in the hotel, but it was noticeable. It was barebones, but competant. The staff was courteous & accomodating. Don't expect thick towels or down comforters. It's sufficient. In a pnich I would stay there again.

Not bad for the price. Clean room, decent location to the lakes. Breakfast is a sham which is why I gave a lower rating. They had fruitloops at 9 am on weekends.

The room appeared to be clean at first glance (we arrived after 11:00pm. When entering the shower, discovered a used wash cloth within the shower curtain. Also, the front desk called up at 3:00 am and then hung up...I would not stay there again and if it hadn't been so late already would have left.

The hotel room was nice. The hairdryer didn't work and was reported on checkout. We didn't realize the 1st morning that there was a continental breakfast. We were comfortable in the room. We didn't site see, we were there to move out daughter back to PA, but it was in a nice location to see many sites.

This was my husband and my first trip away since having the boys and considering they are 16 it's been a while. The hotel is run down a bit but I must admit they do keep it clean. They had booked us into a smokers room and then said we must of booked it wrong and choose a smokers instead of a non-smokers room. We got settled into our room and went out […] for dinner. Shortly after we returned and rather large party of guests arrived. They were very loud, rough and vulgar. they spent the remainder of the evening until 1:30 AM thumping and banging all the doors between the rooms they were in and loud music blasting and yelling to one another. We found it discomforting that the staff on hand never once felt the need to deal with their guests about the matter. The next morning when I inquired about extra pillows they stated that the group that arrived the night before had taken all the extra pillows and we would have to make do. The hair dryer in the room did not work either. Their complimentary breakfast was stale bread, waffles, cereal, doughnuts and coffee with juice. I found it rather humurous that both mornings there was no knives to spread the butter or jam on your toast . I do not expect a high end hotel but a little effort would be nice. We felt as though asking for anything was an inconvenience for them We had an amazing trip together but neither of us looked forward to returning to the hotel at he end of the day. Read more
