Super 8 Sioux City/Morningside Area - Sioux City

Monthly I have to make the trip into Sioux City for drill for the National Guard and it was good to find a hotel that was not only clean but the staff was friendly and it was inexpensive. I enjoyed the stay and look forward to my next stay.

*hotel had cold water for showers *room had too big of furniture for the room... hard to get around with 4 ppl *housekeeping knocked on door 3 times between 9 and 10:30 on the day of checkout to get us out of the room. we are adults, we know when checkout is, no reason housekeeping should even come to our room on the day of checkout

This hotel was like being in an 80s time warp. The decor, the feel of it, everything was very old and stale. The staff was a bit creepy and I wasn't sure my car was going to be safe in the parking lot. I wouldn't stay here again.

The breakfast was a joke. The hallways had bad smell. I was looking for a cheap place to spend the week, but I realize I would have been better of spending a little extra for a better hotel. will never return here again, and cannot recommend this to anyone.

I did not find anything wrong with my stay at this motel. The young lady that checked me in was so nice, very friendly, helpful, I enjoyed her. The room was a little cold at first but I just turned on the heating system to take the chill off. It was cold outside so naturally would be chilly inside when not in use. I slept good and enjoyed my stay.

The hotel smelled badly of smoke and was more run down then it sounded from the previous ratings. The blankets had cigarette burns on all the blankets which show the fact that it is a non-smoking area they do not keep the linens separate. Waited at front desk for check in. An employee was sitting on the stair way having a melt down. She was crying and shouting at another employee. We had to maneuver around her. People in room across the hall were shouting. Was not a quiet stay. Floor in bathroom very sticky. Molding falling off wall in bathroom. Room was fine...inside of drawers in dresser probably had not been cleaned in the last few months..so, my wife refused to put any clothes in there during our 4 night stay. Breakfast area is cramped , but service was fine. OK place for the low price.

the service was great, front desk was helpful, very nice and friendly. My room had no air so they moved me to another room. the air in the room was not very good also but i was honeslty tired of moving my things. very thin towels and the tv remote did not work. the shower was great with good water pressure.

Bed comfort was poor, pillows flat. Outlet in bathroom and bathroom fan didn't work microwave oven reminded me of one kids would use when playing dolls. Front desk clearks had a you're bothering me type attitude.

We were a little concerned when we first checked in since there appeared to be several "events" going on and a lot of people waling the halls. Turned out not to be a problem--room was quite. Guess hotels age is somewhere around 20 to 30 years old. Shows a little wear around the edges but has been fairly well maintained.

Every encounter with the staff was good. We did not complain about our room, however it had a moldy smell that we should not have ignored. It affected my allergies. The desk chair was seriously stained. Other than that, the room looked clean, the breakfast was adequate, and the price was right.

The hotel was conveniently located in Sioux City and was near fast food restaurants. It had an adequate complimentary breakfast. It also has a ramp inside the hotel, which made the bottom floor rooms handicapp accessible.

Visiting family in the Morningside area, and needed an inexpensive place to spend the night. The location is near Morningside College and West Iowa Community College. The room was plain but clean and comfortable.
