Super 8 Clawson/Troy/Detroit Area - Troy

This hotel is showing its age, carpets are clean but worn. Furnishings are showing there wear. The walls look like a DIY homeowner with zero experience tried to patch them. I have stayed at this location many times and would stay there again good value for price. Close to resturants and the medical facilities we were in town to visit.

Found a dirty sock at the end of the bed that wasn't ours. Coffee maker was very dirty & not cleaned during our stay. Room was dirty. Didn't look like the carpet had been swept for a long while. No room to move around. Room too small & very little room to get between the bed & other furniture. The chair had some sticky white residue on it and there were crumbs in the bed. The towels smelled bad, but other then trust the bathroom was clean. The rooms are super small. And the breakfast is toast & cereal. It was okay for the one night I stayed.

I will never stay at a super 8 again. everything that they agreed to do, they didn't do. reservation was wrong date, needed special check-in,check-out times due to night working. Employees could be more helpful if they could speak english.

I stayed at this hotel once before and it was pretty good. I noticed a decline. The hallways and my room had unpleasant odors. It seemed to smell of smoke despite the no smoking rule. The staff was friendly, and the Continental Brunch was fine. The only complaint I have about the room accomodations is the faucets in the bathroom sinks. It was very difficult to use, because it was to small for the sink. The faucet water spout hits the back of the sink, so when you would wash your face, brush your teeth, your hands are hitting the […] back of the sink which makes it very difficult to use. Stayed 5 days. Staff was excellent. Location is close to restaurants and short drive from anything else you would need. I was impressed with how quiet the location is. Being far enough off the highway to keep semi noise to a minimum. We had the king bed room. It was kind of small, but would be perfect for one or two people - we had our toddler with us so it was a little cramped, though we weren't there any other time except to sleep. For the three of us, I don't think we'll be staying in that room again.

This was the first time I booked on line and will never do it again unless I know the hotel. For economy just a place to sleep it was ok. The shower head wined the entire time it was on. Housekeeping wakes u at 10 am. Then I went out the housekeeping staff was in the hall so I let them know we were leaving so they could change the bed and give us clean […] towels. SHOCK!!!! She told me they dont change beds on weekends. I had spilled syrup on the sheets so I removed the sheets. When we returned the dirty sheets were made on the bed. I asked if I could cancel my remaining 4 days of reservations and the friendly clerk said I had to speak to a manager and he was only there on Monday. I waited until noon and he had not arraived so I was not going to spend my vacation waiting on him. We went back to the hotel around 7p and no manager there. Read more

Overall the room itself was clean, but the room was previously a smoking room and not freshened up well. The side of the headboard fell off while we were sleeping, reason unknown and the pillows were to thick for comfort. Service at the front desk was friendly and nice and the location was convenient.

Over all it is ok for us, good location, but we have problem with the heater, this heater unit was old, you have to turn the heat on and off manually. it is not automatic, either you get too much heat or no heat at all.

This hotel is in a great location, close to I75 and Somerset Collection, and about 15-20 minutes from Great Lakes Crossing. It is definitely dated in decor and some of the linens seemed "aged" but the hotel was well-kept with regards to cleanliness. We didn't realize when we booked that there is also breakfast. The hotel offered a selection of cereals, bagels, muffins, danishes, coffee and juices for breakfast. It also had a hot waffle maker, porridge, and some fruit. We travel here a few times a year to shop, and we have stayed at about 5 different hotels in the area. Although I wouldn't classify this as "the nicest" hotel in Troy, I definitely think it is the best value.
