I liked the hotel and where it was located. It was also right on the beach which is what I wanted for this trip. The restaurant fare was disappointing to me. It was not really set up for food at 5 pm when it should have been serving. The room had a small cooking area, tea and coffee. Bathrooms were clean which is very important to us and the bed was comfortable. Great ocean view. Our biggest problem was with the room next door. We were on PST time in Miami with a 7am flight out. The people next room over had a noisy party going which the hotel did little to quell. First at 11:45 pm and continuing until the security was called by us and at least one other room. At 1:30 am the noise started again. Again we called security and instead of asking these people to leave they let them stay. Noise continued until we left at 4 am. I told the management I was very displeased the people were not expelled from the room. I would stay there again if I was guaranteed they would do something about noisy neighbors.

Plus there was no prior information in reference to any additional charges like this... The hallways and rooms smelled OLD!!!! Locks on doors did not work very well. Towels and sheets smelled and loooked as if they had been the same towels they have been using for 20 years...... This hotel is HORRIBLE..... Casablanca is in mid-Beach, a 10 minute drive to South Beach. The location is great, on the ocean, close to some shops and restaurants. The hotel is decent, not fancy. Parking costs $17 a day and street parking can be difficult to find. All and all, it's decent for the money.

The hotel rooms are old and could be cleaner. Some renovations would be nice. But, for the price it was fine. We were right on the ocean, the pool seemed nice, and the little restaurant had decent food. If we wanted superb service, new & spotless rooms, and a gourmet restaurant, we would have stayed someplace charging $300+/night.

The hotel needs improvement in every aspect. It is noisy, there is always a lot of people with a questionable appearance hanging around in the lobby. They charge 16 dollars a day for parking (which I decided not to pay-it is more convenient and way less expensive to use the public parking half a block from there)but it is nearly impossible to use the driveway. Most of the times I had to pullover almost in the street to let my family get off the car. They charge me for a safety that I did not request and did not use. The cleaning staff doesn't do a great job either, even though I left a tip every single day of the week. But it is right on the beach, and close to every thing...

Go back in time at the "New" Casablanca on the Ocean! With freshly painted walls to provide you with enough fumes to sleep like a baby, the Casablanca is the "perfect" getaway from home. Why open the paint-covered windows (which are nailed shut) and let the marvelous smell escape? Who needs that ocean breeze anyway? The furniture, taken from a 1990's yard sale allows for plenty of comfort and relaxation. The bathroom, no larger than the closet, is adorned with paint accents throughout. Not only were there plenty of toiletries, but the hair in the shower was also provided. Step out barefoot into the room and walk along the "plush" paint-chip-filled carpeting. I'll finish my sarcastic review by saying this: the Casablanca was the worst hotel I've ever been to, BUT you get what you pay for!

They also hit you with a $16 a day parking fee at check in, very uncool and unfair to the guest. If you enjoy sleeping with bed bugs, then this is the place for you!!!

OK I am from SO. California... so take it for what it is worth. This Hotel is great for the Griswald's; but if you are young and want to party in the Clubs move it South to the 40th block which bye the way is a 10-15 dollar ride down the street with a half hour wait for Taxi. The Hotel did have a Restaraunt or two nearby. Walkable>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>... The View is Awesome from the Hotel OceanFront. The kithenette has a noisy fridge in the room; so I turned it down at night. There was no Hotwater the whole time I stayed there so that has a an impact on this survey. Look's like somebody has an investment on there hands and is trying to get the "the ol' girl-up amd running" So it may be another 6 months before she is tightened up.

The ride to South Beach, "Lincoln Ave" was about a $15 taxi ride, not bad considering the parking problems. The hotel was under construction and did give a buy one, get one free coupon for a drink at the bar.

When we first checked in we were given keys to a room with someone already in it. The second room they gave us smelled like old, mildew, cigarette smoke. There were suspicious round white stains on the carpet near the bed- gross. The top lock was broken- it looked like someone had tried to jimmy it open once before. That's right, this place DOES NOT use electronic cards, they give you actual keys. We felt safer leaving our purses in the trunk of our car on south beach than to leave them in the hotel room!
