If you are looking for luxury, this is not it. But if you need a clean, comfortable stopping place this is good. The staff is nice and competent so what more do you need out of a Super 8?

Due to my mistake at booking we were in a smoking room. All you could smell was smoke. All I could smell was smoke in the pillows when I went to bed. Couldn't sleep so I got up and spent the night in the small lobby on my computer. The least they could put covers on there pillows so the smoke doesn't penetrate into the fibers of the pillows. My room was right next to the ice and vending machines and so was very noisy. The bed was not very comfortable and the fridge barely functioned.

It was a dark dingy hotel, room was in a sub basement, windows would not open. Beds were brutal. Could feel the plastic crinkly bed bug cover on the bed although as far as I know, there were no bugs. One person working the desk was disinterested and not friendly. Ended up in a smoking room as that's all that was left, so shouldn't really complain about […] rancid stench in room, but I woke up gagging and everything smelled the next day. Fine. Only complaint was that I arrived at about 2:10 pm, no one was at desk. I yelled down hall to see if anyone was home.....a minute later, someone came. I had to wait 3-5 minutes for someone to come to desk., total, from the time I arrived. Maybe she doubled as a housekeeper....not sure. I was crunched for time....so it was a little unwelcoming. […] Had I not had a reservation, I might have left, but it was the cheapest hotel I could find.....all I needed was a bed....so it worked out. The hallway (and somewhat the room) smelled heavily of smoke. The toilet was not thoroughly clean. The remote did not work for the TV. The breakfast food was not good at all. I would not stay here again.

This was the worst Super 8 I have ever stayed at. While the staff was friendly and helpful the hotel itself was old the air in the room was broken. There were grown men running through the hallways at night banging on doors. It was not a pleasant experience.

The breakfast provided by Super 8 could be so much better for the same amount of expense on their part. The dry, white, low-quality bread for toast could easily be better. Why not provide a mix of whole meal AND white bread, and perhaps some bagels? There was a choice of some sweet cereal and some plain cheerios, with milk, some dry white bread, and […] some peanut butter and jam, along with orange and apple juice and the worst coffee I've had in a long time. Gas stations have better coffee than that. It could have something to do with the fact that the staff simply didn't know how to make coffee. Less water with more grounds is usually the solution. Worse than anything else was that the mix of smoking and non smoking rooms made the entire public area of the hotel reek of cigarette smoke. One walk through the hall and my entire non-smoking family's clothes smelled of smoke. This is unacceptable. Smoke automatically brings down the entire atmosphere and quality of the hotel down by one star. It could be so much better with a little bit of better planning and management by the Super 8 chain! It is not impossible. There was nothing cheaper than Super 8, so if your budget is really hurting and you like cigarette smoke baths, you don't really have a better option. Read more
