Was somewhat disappointed we were placed in a room in front of the ice machine, especially since we made our reservations so far in advance. It is a most convenient location and a nice breakfast available in the morning. Clean linens, newer carpet but our heat/air unit lacked a filter. However, for the location and price, I will return. Just think a little time spent doing some "spring cleaning", other than routine, would improve things.

It was your basic hotel room, one king bed, loveseat w/ coffee table, small bathroom, free breakfast, etc. It was a great location and was within walking distance to all of the shops in downtown Helen. What really set it above the rest was the customer service. There was always a pleasant person at the front desk and every request we had was answered with a smile. We will definately consider staying there again.

Hoping to get away to Helen for a day of tubing and an evening out on the town, we wanted to stay somewhere in the middle of everything. Super 8 was within walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. I was pleasantly surprised upon our arrival to see how clean the room was. The refrigerator in the room was a great amenity. My only gripe was that there wasn't an iron in the room. Other than that, I would definitely stay there again. Other hotels in the town that were comparably priced were much farther away than the Super 8 and for us, location was key.

We arrived at our hotel Monday afternoon with no problems...so I thought. We checked in...even though Im still not sure what the guy at the front desk told me because I couldnt understand him. We unloaded the car and wanted to relax for a few minutes before departing again. We laid down on the beds and almost fell off. At first we thought the mattress was just moved over but after pushing the mattress over and falling off even more we discovered that both beds had queen size mattresses with full size box springs. We contacted the front desk to complain and were told that there was an order in place and pretty much that we just had to deal with it. No offer of moving us until he asked me what else he could do for me that day. I informed him that we would never stay at that hotel again and I would not be giving a good review on hotels.com. Upon hearing this he immediately offered to move us to the Best Western for no extra charge. The best part of our stay at the Super 8 was when they moved us to another hotel. I was completely unsatisfied with my stay there.

Don't waste money on a cabin, this hotel exceeds expectations. It is a stone's throw from the main strip of shops and restaurants. The staff are courteous and helpful. The free continental breakfast was better than what we were anticipating-packets of flavored oatmeal, grits, assorted cereal, individually wrapped pastries, 2 pack microwaveable sausage biscuits, blueberry and honey oat bran muffins, milk, orange juice, apple juice, and coffee. The room was clean, toiletries and towels were restocked promptly, and the parking lot was well lit. We didn't have a chance to check out the heated all enclosed seasonal pool but we will make time on our next visit. The only downside is the walls are really thin so we heard full conversations from our next door neighbors easily and the ice machine signs need to be more visible. That said, we really didn't spend much time in our room so that part wasn't a big deal. All in all, for the money, convenience, and friendly staff, this place gets an "A" in our book. One thing that may seem off topic is....when you are visiting Helen, keep in mind that almost all of the restuarants serve German food. However, there is a fantastic pizza place called Jordano's on the main strip, a Waffle House, Wendy's, and a couple of steakhouses as well. Do not order take-out from your room. Instead, walk to the nearby business, place your order, and bring it back to your room. Otherwise, anything you call in will likely come from Cleveland, GA, which will take an hour to reach you. Try this Super 8. You will not be disappointed!

The room was clean. We had room 106. We did not find any problems with the room. The pool appeared to be heated. We were there in April and the water was warm. However, the pool is small. Unfortunately we did have a few motorcycles roaring in and out of the parking lot. The breakfast could have been better. They had coffee, orange juice, muffins, cereal, instant oatmeal packets and microwavable sausage buiscits. I didn't see any bowls for the oatmeal, nor any trays to transport breafast from the small breakfast area. The only places to have the breakfast were outside or juggle it back to your room. The location and low price more than make up for these minir problems.
