"Great Roman Palace"
First time in Rome and we like this Hotel. Historic building and convenient location. Walking distance to Termini. Across from Santa Maria Maggiore and 20 min walk from Saint Giovanni Laterano.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful hotel that is walkable to many sites"
We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel. It was walking distance to many sites and restaurants and the Termini train station is only 2-3 blocks away. The Metro is also about 2-3 blocks away and an efficient means of reaching the Colosseum and Palatine Hill. Our room was directly across the way from the beautiful S. Maria Maggiore Church -- […] a must see! The hotel featured a wonderful complimentary breakfast buffet as well. It even has its own beautiful chapel and library. We would stay again in this lovely restored palace from the Renaissance Age. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Easy walking distance to Termini Station in Rome. Also able to pick up A & B train lines which take you to all major sites in the city. Nice neighborhood across the street from Santa Maria Maggiogore and one block from supermarket. Hotel had lovely interior garden with sitting area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything looks old and dated, room is small, definitely not a 4-Star Hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Centrally located to EVERYTHING!"
Stayed six nights at the Antico Palazzo. It was within walking distance of Rome Termini, the Coliseum and many basilicas and plazas. This was great for us who were mostly doing independent travel. The hotel had its own sense of grandeur. The room and amenities matched the price. Staff was the best. VERY helpful in every aspect. We felt welcome and […] secure that we could get help with pretty much anything. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"good budget hotel"
We stayed here seven nights in July. The hotel is a little in need of updating decor wise, but the staff was great. Location is good for trains and walking to sites. There is a breakfast buffet, so that was a big savings. The quad room was a good size for 4 people, and each teenager had thier own twin bed.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Charming but disappointing"
This hotel was a huge disappointment and the website is misleading. The air conditioning in our first room was broken and had been replaced with a fan. When we were unable to tolerate it, we were reluctantly moved to another room whose shower was broken (and not functional)! The beds were harder than anything I've ever experienced and the linens on […] one of the beds were dirty. The free Wi-Fi was inconsistently available. The woman at the front desk was rude when we expressed our room concerns. The staff was also unable to assist with plans during our stay despite having advertised having concierge services. They simply provided us a map of the city. We have traveled to many places and this hotel is on the bottom of our list. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Hotel rooms were dark, outlets were falling out of the walls, ac was barely working and had black stain around it. The area is convenient to taxi and train station. Most of the people were helpful and accommodating, however my daughter was walked in on, in our room in the bathroom. Key was in to show occupancy and music and lights were on. We complained […] at the desk and was told it was a maintenance man. Nobody contacted us, to apologize or explain. Poor management. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location is good"
Only thing is good is location. It is walking distance from most of the major places. Hotel is very old, with very small rooms, air condition doesn't make he room cold. bathrooms old, dirty, bed are very uncomfortable. hotel lobby smells, I'd NOT stay here again. NOT worth the money.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice hotel, and excellent location."
Love the place, have a very beautiful and unique church inside the hotel. The staff very nice, specially Laura, who treat us super nicely. The location extraordinary, only few blocks from the Termini station.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Old clean hotel with helpful staff."
This was a nice hotel near the colosseum. The room was small but clean and the wi fi worked well. It was convenient to be able to park our car and they had a very good breakfast buffet. The staff was welcoming and very accommodating.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location needs upgrades"
Small and tight the hotel staff are pleasant. The beds are old and worn. The housekeeping staff is poor. The morning breakfast service by Franchesca is wonderful. Air conditioning does not work well the security is good. Roberto at the front desk is helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"sweet boutique hotel"
We were in Rome for 4 days - I found them very customer service oriented.Genuine Expedia guest review
Everything about the hotel made it a very good place to call home on our stay in Rome. The front desk staff was congenial, very helpful, for all,our needs, breakfast was delicious. Rooms a bit small but all in all I would recommend to others.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent Experience at Hotel"
My wife and I spent a week in Rome. We reserved a triple room, which gave us more room to relax in the hotel. Our room was very clean & comfortable, had abundant storage, and wall-to-wall marble in the bathroom. We had two separate working windows, inclusive with shutters, and blackout curtains. We opened them for fresh air in the morning, listen to […] working church bells across the street, and to overlook the impressive hotel courtyard. The hotel is located directly next to a major sight-seeing landmark, filled with amazing picture opportunities inside and out. We felt very safe walking to and from the hotel. The immediate area provided countless shopping, restaurants, and sightseeing spots. It was literally 7 - 10 minute walk to the Roman Coliseum and Forum from the hotel. We found the hotel staff and reception team very efficient, and friendly. Everyone spoke English very well, and provided us with frequent suggestions and tips to enjoy our trip. In addition, there is a private church inside the hotel, giving further picture opportunities. If you prefer to use a taxi, there is a taxi station outside the hotel front door and across the street. The hotel is close to the train station, and boarders a high-end neighbourhood, filled with shopping and eating locations. Finally, there is a grocery store close by to provide for forgotten items, fresh fruit, water, and snacks. Literally, next door, is an ice cream shop, and pizzeria. We would absolutely return again. "Decent hotel in the heart of Rome"
Overall, if you're looking for a reasonable place in the middle of many Rome landmarks, this one is pretty good. The rooms are very small but that is to be expected. We had a double bed but it was acutally 2 beds put together. The furnishings could have been updated a little. The shower nozzle looked like it could fall off at any moment, but it didn't. Great […] Gelato shop 2 doors down from the hotel. We went there every night. Most landmarks are within walking distance (20 minutes). The hotel staff was very friendly and courteous. All in all, not too bad for the money. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed at the Antico Palazzo Rospigliosi for three nights in Rome. The hotel was conveniently located across from one of the four main basilicas in Rome and about three blocks from the main metro and train stop in Rome. We were a 15 minute walk from the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. We decided to take the metro to the Vatican because it would have […] been about a 40 minute walk. The hotel staff was very helpful. We arrived and a porter immediately greeted us and helped us with our bags. Parking was free about a half block away from the hotel, which saved us about E20 per day. Breakfast was included for our family of four, which saved us about E40 per day. Each of our children had his or her own bed, which was nice. The room was a little cramped with three beds, but not too cramped. The bathroom was very nice. It had only a tub and no shower curtain, which if I had to complain about something with this hotel that would be it; no shower curtain, which made rinsing off somewhat of a challenge. There was plenty of hot water. The staff was very friendly and everyone spoke very good English. We found a restaurant in the building next to the hotel where we ate dinner every night (Le 2 Colonne). For the money, it was by far the best dining we found in Europe. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was overrated. The service was bad. The rooms were old. Totally over priced for the quality of service and facilities.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a nice hotel, everyone was welcoming and is near the train. The hotel is in a good spot to go around Rome. the only thing was that their WiFi did not work on the third floor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Cramped hot room."
The room was very small and the air conditioning didn't keep the room cool at all.Genuine Expedia guest review
No airconditioning 1st night and only partial the second night. Temperature was in the 90's in our room. Was promised fans to hep, but after waiting for hours, they never arrived. Also, elevators worked sporatically ane you never knew the floor you were going to be taken to.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location and clean room"
We stayed here a couple of nights in June 2013. We had a pleasant stay. Location was good. About 15 minutes walking from the Termini train station and about the same going to the Colosseum. Staff was great. Breakfast buffet was great.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel Rospigliosi in Rome"
We arrived at 10 and since the room was not ready we checked in the luggage and went for sightseeing. The location is good and about 15 minutes walk to Termini and Colisium and other monuments. As you'll know the hotel experience in EU is very different from the US. The rooms are small and the ammenities lack in some sense. The bathroom was very small […] for a family of 4. The small single room for my son stayed warm all the time. For whatever reason A/C did not work as well as daytime. Don't know if it was being controlled centrally and turned off/increased the temp at night. The breakfast was good. The room was well insulated even though we were in the street side. The WiFi was very poor. No reception in the 2nd floor closer to the offic/street side. Had to go to the lounge or to the yard to get reception. Staff was very good. "OK, hotel with great location."
I can’t compare this hotel with other ones in Rome, but it’s definitely not 4 stars. Probably 3. There pro and cones. Pro: great location, 5 minutes walk to termini train station and about 10 minutes walk to Coliseum. Very friendly staff. Cones: room and bathroom are very small. Air conditioning doesn’t work very well. We were there couple weeks ago […] and Rome was in low 80s, and our room actually feel hotter than outside with air condition set to it’s lowest point. Wi-Fi doesn’t work in our room and we have to sit in lobby to use our phone or iPad. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
There is no A/C switched us once and still no A/C. Temp inside must of been over 80 degrees. Had to sleep with window open and noise outside on the busy street was loud, then just when you think everyone went to sleep street cleaning started at 4:00am with the breaking of many bottles. No WIFI in either room we were in you needed to go in the hall. […] Night watchmen was very rude not sure why he has a job. Location was great and Rome was great its ashame we picked the wrong hotel. A/c. Poor, breakfast poor, beds poor, shower poor, Location great, hotel building very nice. This hotel could easily be a 5 in all categories! It has great potential but just doesn't deliver. We had a family room for 4 and the a/c was basically non functional. Switched to a different room with the same result. The breakfast spread was the worst we […] had in 3 weeks of Europe hotels. Plastic wrapped cheese? Really ? Weak coffee even by American standards. And this in an Italian hotel. The beds were lumpy, 6 Grandview Park Dr, Arnold, MO leaned and sagged. The showers didn't have curtains or glass so the bathroom flooded. Amazing beautiful historic hotel building - shame it doesn't deliver on the basics. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel is very nice, closed the everything, is comfort and cleanness, I recommend.Genuine Expedia guest review
This was my sixth time coming back to Rome for vacation, and the sixth different place I've stayed. From what I've experienced I would recommend staying at the Antico for its location, service, price, and quality. I can't speak to the sizes of the smaller rooms, or the largest of the rooms, but we stayed in a double deluxe. It was well-sized for European […] standards and had an amazing view of the church directly across the street. It's a simple 5-minute jaunt to two different metro stops (Cavour and Termini), 15-min easy stroll to the Colosseum, 10-min stroll to Repubblica and there are restaurants galore in every direction. I would recommend purchasing the breakfast as well since it is actually very well loaded with options. The A/C in the room wasn't perfect but opening the windows helped a lot during the hottest points of the day, though that did let in a lot of street noise (which speaks to the quality of the windows, I suppose). However, this was not really an issue since I'm not the type to stay in my room while on vacation. The hotel is very clean, very historic, peaceful and the service was great. "Ok once we were there"
We had to stay at another sister hotel because our room apparently was flooded. The place they originally offered was horendous! Then we were moved to another sister hotel around the corner. After one night we were able to move back to the Antico. They did provide us with a complimentary bottle of champagne for our troubles. The hotel itself is fine, […] good location, close to the termini... Probably a good idea to reconfirm your room prior to arriving. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good building and location. Service is not."
Building is nice but service is not the best. This involve the breakfast that it is poor and the same everyday. I recomend the hotel in order of price: it's more a 3 stars than a 4 stars rated.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not much of a 4* hotel"
Hard beds and pillows, shower especially the shower head needed a good scrub down, room too hot even for December. No aircon only heat available. Breakfast mediocre. No lounge or bar, unless you count a lounge area between the bedrooms on the 3rd floor. Decent location close to Colliseum and Roman Forum.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Long Weekend Visit"
A well situated hotel within easy reach of the Metro & main bus terminal. The entrance area is welcoming & staff couldn't have been more helpful. The room was on the small side & a bit tired (clean though). Good sized shower room. Breakfast was disappointing, so went out for breakfast. A lovely garden area on the first floor but the hotel could do more […] with this to make it more welcoming .. a few outside lights, perhaps? We might choose a different hotel when we return. "Standard rooms are not just worth the money"
We initially booked standard room however room condition and interior was just not upto standards of a star hotel hence we ended up upgrading our room for a bit extra. "Nice Hotel very close to the main attractions"
I recently went to Italty, Rome with my family in June 2014 and I have to say the hotel wasn't too bad, I read quite a few bad reviews and got slightly worried about what I was going to expect however the staff were extremely friendly and helped us a lot. The hotel itself wasn't too bad as it catered breakfast in the morning (which wasn't too nice) […] and had all the necessary toiletries but I do have to say that this is defiantly not a 4 star hotel as there wasn't a kettle in the room, the shower door was slightly broken and the breakfast wasn't very nice. Overall the location was very good as we could walk to most places and the staff were very friendly. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location to explore the sights from!"
Very helpful staff, lovely hotel, large room for 2 with view out to the Basilica, great location.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Exactly as I had hoped!"
2 adults and 2 children in a quadruple room. We found the room size more than adequate with a large bathroom and balcony doors opening to a view of the faboulous Basilica opposite. The hotel is conveniently placed to walk to many places including Termini station, the Colosseum/Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain/Spanish steps/Pantheon. Our children are 8 and […] 10 and did not find the walking distances an issue. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful but not intrusive. We liked the fact that we could sit in the Orangery having a read and drink in the afternoon. Another bonus was the free wifi throughout the hotel. Breakfast was sufficient - the breakfast room can get busy despite the size of the hotel and it at times there may not be a lot of selection although generally the waitress would refresh most items if asked. If you are expecting a typical hotel chain, busy, high-tech hotel this would not be your cup of tea but for a place with real character and some Italian charm this would fit the bill nicely. "A relaxing hotel in heart of Rome"
A 5-minute walk from Termini bus and train station (10 minutes if you follow the map direction, but 5 minutes if you cut through the station). We strongly recommend taking the Terravision Shuttle Bus from the airport, it takes about 55 minutes, is non-stop to Termini and costs only 6 Euros each way (4 Euros if you book online and print your ticket), […] you can spend what you save on more wine with your meals Loads of cafes and restaurants around Colosseum only 10 minutes walk, Fountain of Trevi and Pantheon 25 minutes walk If you wan to visit Vatican Museum, take the Metro, it is fast (only 10 minutes) and efficient and tickets cost 3 Euros each way, you can get the tickets from the little shop next to the hotel.
