"Great Location for sights and rail. But ...."
Fine location, 10 minute walk to Termini rail station, and surrounded by small restaurants. If you are a walker, and know where you're going, you can walk to the Forum and the Colosseum. The wi-fi was patchy, however, the shower leaked, and one of the outlets was coming out of the wall. If you're not going to use wifi in your rooms, it's a good place to stay.

"Good value, great location"
The hotel is in a great location. Close to rail, shopping, and with a Christina Hop on Hop off stop right out front. Couldn't beat the view of the church out our front window either. We had a 4 single room which was spacious, but one of the mattresses was slanted. The door to the room had a hinge issue that required us to open and close the door just right, the shower head needed some attention, and because the A/C unit was portable having to keep the street front window open made it very noisy. Those are items that are easily addressed and to us are not as important as customer service, cleanliness, amenities, and location. When we were told that breakfast was included we expected continental but there was hot food which as a pleasant surprise. The front desk assisted us with arranging a shuttle (for fee) to the airport and the porter was very efficient with our luggage. The courtyard is beautiful. As previously mentioned the location couldn't be beat.

"Our stay at Antico Palazzo Rospigliosi"
We selected this Hotel based on the pictures and the reviews which were pretty decent. Our experience however, was very negative, but let's start with the positives: Good location, historic building. The negatives: Very small and dark room. Airco was in the room but not connected to the outside, resulting that the airco was not functioning TV is very small, call it a PC Monitor size. Internet was not functioning in our room. Bathroom was not clean and very small. The reception of the hotel at arrival (on Sunday) was very unfriendly

"Rome trip"
Hotel is located close to downtown and 15 minutes walking distance from Tirmini station. We walked all over the place for site seeing even walked to Vatican (45 min). Hotel building is a historic place that was converted to hotel. The hotel facility such as air conditioner was not functioning properly and it seems hotel management are ok with that with no plan to upgrade( had same problem in 2009 in the same hotel). Our toilet flush stopped working and it took two sessions and each time 1 hour for maintenance guy to fix it. Breakfast was included in the price which is good point but there was a molding smell in the restaurant floor. The staffs were nice and helpful.

"Great value and location!"
Overall, this was a great value for the location! The hotel itself was actually nicer than I expected. I will echo other reviews that the air-conditioning in the rooms isn't very strong or cold. Also, I found the building layout confusing but it wasn't a terrible issue. If the weather is nice, definitely sit outside in the garden area fully surrounded by the building (courtyard?)!

"Disappointing"
this was our second stay at this hotel, we were here 5 years ago. The hotel is really showing its age and there is no air conditioning in the rooms, there was but they were so weak producing air we had to get a fan to make the room tolerable. The breakfast was lousy to say the least. The coffee was bad and the eggs were cold! To top things off the elevator was down for over 8 hours and we had to use the steps from the fourth floor, my wife is handicapped and this created a real problem for her.

"Decaying mismanaged hotel on a good location."
Check-in time is 2pm. I arrived at 6pm and still had to wait for another hour while the room was being cleaned. "Antico" is the operative word here: the hotel is old, tired and poorly managed, with little of the supposed charm of a historical building. The grand staircase seen on pictures is out of bounds, and reception is run from a side desk more in keeping with a small B&B. Besides the old and dusty furniture, the room had stained carpet and malfunctioning shower box. Breakfast was a sad affair, bare and poorly attended to. Erratic wifi available only at public areas. Overall, very disappointing. There are far better options in Rome on the same price range. Booked for four nights but stayed only two. No refund (hotel policy), but I'd rather just cut my losses and move on. On the positive side, the location is convenient for the Colosseum area. There is also complimentary parking just outside the limited traffic zone.

"A real Palace"
The hotel is a real Roman Palace. We felt as if we were members of the noble family who inhabited it centuries ago. The service is insuperable. The staff at the front desk will go the extra mile to accommodate your requests. The hotel has beautiful rooms, elegantly appointed resting rooms, library and a breath taking Chapel, a wonderful and refreshing interior garden. The restaurant is superb and really affordable (much more than any of the surrounding ones) breakfast is included. If we are fortunate enough to go back to Rome we would surely stay there.

"Would certainly stay again"
A comfy room in an impressive hotel. The courtyard, chapel, and guest study were neat in their own right, and the location (10 minutes from the Coliseum, 5 minutes from the Termini train and metro stations) is hard to beat. As per usual the room space is compact, but it was clean and practical nonetheless. A very good value for a 4-star place.

"Great Location in ROME"
Great Hotel stay in ROME with the family. This Hotel is located walking distance from all attractions. There are nice restaurants in the neighborhood. Hotel staff was very helpful, The first night our room was a little small and cramp up for 4, so we informed the front desk and they moved us to a larger room. I felt the breakfast was a little on the lower end due to the selections compared to some of the other hotels we stayed at in the same price range. Other than that very thing was good and the kids enjoyed the free wifi.

"Nice location, dumpy room"
Stayed here for three nights. First room was 409 and the air conditioner was leaking through a light. There was obvious old water damage on the walls and I was concerned about electrical issues and mold. Also, the room smelled of smoke and had an ashtray provided even though staff insisted it was nonsmoking. Switched to room 406 and the air barely worked, toilet leaked and the trim on the door was falling off. I wouldn't stay here again.

"Beautiful hotel that is walkable to many sites"
We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel. It was walking distance to many sites and restaurants and the Termini train station is only 2-3 blocks away. The Metro is also about 2-3 blocks away and an efficient means of reaching the Colosseum and Palatine Hill. Our room was directly across the way from the beautiful S. Maria Maggiore Church -- a must see! The hotel featured a wonderful complimentary breakfast buffet as well. It even has its own beautiful chapel and library. We would stay again in this lovely restored palace from the Renaissance Age.

Stayed six nights at the Antico Palazzo. It was within walking distance of Rome Termini, the Coliseum and many basilicas and plazas. This was great for us who were mostly doing independent travel. We stayed here seven nights in July. The hotel is a little in need of updating decor wise, but the staff was great. Location is good for trains and walking to sites. "Charming but disappointing"
This hotel was a huge disappointment and the website is misleading. The air conditioning in our first room was broken and had been replaced with a fan. When we were unable to tolerate it, we were reluctantly moved to another room whose shower was broken (and not functional)! The beds were harder than anything I've ever experienced and the linens on one of the beds were dirty. The free Wi-Fi was inconsistently available. The woman at the front desk was rude when we expressed our room concerns. The staff was also unable to assist with plans during our stay despite having advertised having concierge services. They simply provided us a map of the city. We have traveled to many places and this hotel is on the bottom of our list.

Hotel rooms were dark, outlets were falling out of the walls, ac was barely working and had black stain around it. The area is convenient to taxi and train station. Most of the people were helpful and accommodating, however my daughter was walked in on, in our room in the bathroom. Key was in to show occupancy and music and lights were on. We complained at the desk and was told it was a maintenance man. Nobody contacted us, to apologize or explain. Poor management.

"Excellent Experience at Hotel"
My wife and I spent a week in Rome. We reserved a triple room, which gave us more room to relax in the hotel. Our room was very clean & comfortable, had abundant storage, and wall-to-wall marble in the bathroom. We had two separate working windows, inclusive with shutters, and blackout curtains. We opened them for fresh air in the morning, listen to working church bells across the street, and to overlook the impressive hotel courtyard. The hotel is located directly next to a major sight-seeing landmark, filled with amazing picture opportunities inside and out. We felt very safe walking to and from the hotel. The immediate area provided countless shopping, restaurants, and sightseeing spots. It was literally 7 - 10 minute walk to the Roman Coliseum and Forum from the hotel. We found the hotel staff and reception team very efficient, and friendly. Everyone spoke English very well, and provided us with frequent suggestions and tips to enjoy our trip. In addition, there is a private church inside the hotel, giving further picture opportunities. If you prefer to use a taxi, there is a taxi station outside the hotel front door and across the street. The hotel is close to the train station, and boarders a high-end neighbourhood, filled with shopping and eating locations. Finally, there is a grocery store close by to provide for forgotten items, fresh fruit, water, and snacks. Literally, next door, is an ice cream shop, and pizzeria. We would absolutely return again.

"Decent hotel in the heart of Rome"
Overall, if you're looking for a reasonable place in the middle of many Rome landmarks, this one is pretty good. The rooms are very small but that is to be expected. We had a double bed but it was acutally 2 beds put together. The furnishings could have been updated a little. The shower nozzle looked like it could fall off at any moment, but it didn't. Great Gelato shop 2 doors down from the hotel. We went there every night. Most landmarks are within walking distance (20 minutes). The hotel staff was very friendly and courteous. All in all, not too bad for the money.

"Excellent hotel!"
We stayed at the Antico Palazzo Rospigliosi for three nights in Rome. The hotel was conveniently located across from one of the four main basilicas in Rome and about three blocks from the main metro and train stop in Rome. We were a 15 minute walk from the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. We decided to take the metro to the Vatican because it would have been about a 40 minute walk. The hotel staff was very helpful. We arrived and a porter immediately greeted us and helped us with our bags. Parking was free about a half block away from the hotel, which saved us about E20 per day. Breakfast was included for our family of four, which saved us about E40 per day. Each of our children had his or her own bed, which was nice. The room was a little cramped with three beds, but not too cramped. The bathroom was very nice. It had only a tub and no shower curtain, which if I had to complain about something with this hotel that would be it; no shower curtain, which made rinsing off somewhat of a challenge. There was plenty of hot water. The staff was very friendly and everyone spoke very good English. We found a restaurant in the building next to the hotel where we ate dinner every night (Le 2 Colonne). For the money, it was by far the best dining we found in Europe. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

"Hotel Rospigliosi in Rome"
We arrived at 10 and since the room was not ready we checked in the luggage and went for sightseeing. The location is good and about 15 minutes walk to Termini and Colisium and other monuments. As you'll know the hotel experience in EU is very different from the US. The rooms are small and the ammenities lack in some sense. The bathroom was very small for a family of 4. The small single room for my son stayed warm all the time. For whatever reason A/C did not work as well as daytime. Don't know if it was being controlled centrally and turned off/increased the temp at night. The breakfast was good. The room was well insulated even though we were in the street side. The WiFi was very poor. No reception in the 2nd floor closer to the offic/street side. Had to go to the lounge or to the yard to get reception. Staff was very good.

I can’t compare this hotel with other ones in Rome, but it’s definitely not 4 stars. Probably 3. There pro and cones. Pro: great location, 5 minutes walk to termini train station and about 10 minutes walk to Coliseum. Very friendly staff. Cones: room and bathroom are very small. Air conditioning doesn’t work very well. We were there couple weeks ago and Rome was in low 80s, and our room actually feel hotter than outside with air condition set to it’s lowest point. Wi-Fi doesn’t work in our room and we have to sit in lobby to use our phone or iPad.

We had a family room for 4 and the a/c was basically non functional. Switched to a different room with the same result. The breakfast spread was the worst we had in 3 weeks of Europe hotels. Plastic wrapped cheese? Really ? Weak coffee even by American standards. And this in an Italian hotel. The beds were lumpy, 6 Grandview Park Dr, Arnold, MO leaned and sagged. The showers didn't have curtains or glass so the bathroom flooded. Amazing beautiful historic hotel building - shame it doesn't deliver on the basics.
