Simply known as “The Valley,” this sprawling area includes the suburbs of Encino, Northridge, and Van Nuys. But Burbank is the key attraction, as several movie and TV studios are based here. Universal Studios’ theme park combines tourism with the local craft. Griffith Park provides much needed green in a city known for its smog. Nearby, the Burbank airport is an alternative to LAX.

First of all the hotel is very nice, but as soon as we got there we found out that we HAD to pay $31 for valet or we had to park the car around the corner. Second when we got to our room i realized that the room wasn't entirely how i imagined it. I had paid for the "deluxe king" the room didn't have kitchenette, the only thing that was there was a mini fridge. I called the front desk and they told me that, that was the deluxe king room, i didnt want to argue or anything so i just left it at that. Even though the room was not what i expected i enjoyed my stay there, the bed was super comfy and everything looked very clean and nice.

I loved this hotel. It was convenient, clean and had lovely atmosphere. Candles were lit in the bar and lobby at night and it was just charming. The chocolates at the front desk were the best. We parked on the side streets because the hotel parking was a little expensive at $28 a night. Extremely safe neighborhood and a grocery and Starbucks across the street within walking distance.

It was nice, great room size. However, if you book here make sure you ask for a room that does not face the street and is away from the bar. We were right above the bar and you could hear everyone drinking and smoking and cussing...which wasn't good for my young son to hear. The hotel was very good about quieting their bar guests down (once we called) The only other complaint is that the noise from the street can be annoying. Bring ear plugs. Other than that very nice stay. And the parking is was nice- we did do the vallet because they lock the cars up at night. Very safe.

Okay. My husband and I were disgusted at the $30.00 a night parking, 4.50 water, and the 14.50 "complimentary" breakfast, Just to name a few. Yes, this is a beautiful botique style hotel; but all the fees were in my opinion very uneccessary!! Also, even though it's the 21st Century, with a black president. This hotel is NOT the place for African Americans!! You will feel very uncomfortable, as you will be stared at almost everywhere you go. If you don't mind senseless racism, stay. If it bothers you. Steer Clear. The hotel is beautiful, with beautiful rooms. But you want to relax too.

The Hotel Amarano exceeded expectations. The room was great, the lobby area and bar were fantastic, and the upstairs "sunning deck" was an added treat. Parking is a trick. They have valet which is $24 per day. Don't waste your money. There are many side streets behind the hotel that have lots of parking. Park there and save your money. I initially felt a little guilty taking a parking spot from the residents in the neighborhood, but I quickly realized that there are plenty of spots for everyone. The neighborhood behind the hotel was clean and appeared very safe. The hotel brews Starbucks coffee. However, there is a Starbucks across the street AND a smaller Starbucks kiosk in the Von's supermarket across the street.

The staff recommended a Thai restaurant for lunch and French bistro across the street for dinner, both were delicious! All hotel staff were courteous and professional. We had 4 in our room so we asked for 2 extra robes for the hottub and they were brought to our room within minutes. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

This was a great hotel to stay at. They offer a free car service although it had limited availability. If you call and it's available, then they'll take you to locations within 3 miles for free and give you a ice cold water (very nice). However, there is only one car, and only one gentleman who drives it and he doubles as the valet. In case it's not available, be prepared to pay for a cab. Very nice rooms, great roof jacuzzi and dry sauna with lockers. Very comfy bed. No complaints about the room. It's within walking distance to the warner brothers studio and the jay leno show as well so great location.

Against my better judgment, I always stay at a kitchy hotel (you know the one) on Ventura Blvd whenever I visit L.A., but I've always thought the place was a poor value and had a creepy vibe. So I've been on the hunt for a replacement. Thanks to the reviews I read on Hotels.com, I've found it: the Hotel Amarano. This is a beautiful little hotel nestled in a Burbank neighborhood, right across the street from a Von's grocery store, a few casual restaurants, and a pet shop. Upon driving up, we were promptly greeted by a very courteous valet person and a desk clerk, the latter of whom got us to our room on the top floor of this tiny 4-story hotel quickly. And what a beautiful room: quality finishes, enormous HD TV, luxurious bedding. Despite the excellent reviews I read about this hotel, the room itself managed to exceed my expectations. Any downside? Yes. The price for the room represented (we thought) a lot of bang for the buck. Far less impressive was the insanely high charge for valet parking: $26 per night. And since parking your car yourself is not permitted, valet parking is your only option. The one dinner we had in the hotel was competent, and fairly priced -- that is, it would be fairly priced if it were served in a restaurant. The hotel has no restaurant, and serves dinner only in the bar area, which is miniscule and noisy. Given that, the meal seems somewhat pricy for bar food. We checked out the breakfast menu, and decided to pass due to the very high prices. On the flip side, wifi was free and easy to access This is a sweet, friendly, clean, and well-located hotel that has just become my go-to place when visiting relatives in L.A. This is the end of a long search, and I can't tell you how happy I am to leave that kitchy hotel -- with its astro-turf, RVs, and 3:00 A.M. hall screamers -- behind. Good riddance.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this hotel at an affordable rate for comparable rooms in Universal City. We were greeted with chocolates and hot apple cider. The room was Euro-comfortable with an HD big screen TV and DVD player -- major hit with my teenager. The hotel was quiet, in a quiet neighborhood. A grocery store, a major chain coffee joint and a couple of cafes across the street are nice but nothing swanky in walking distance. A quiet neighborhood is not a bad thing! The hotel lounge is cozy, with passable food, but is so small that if there's another party having dinner, that cozy feel goes out the window. Our waiter/bartender was too chatty (maybe bored on a Monday evening?). The only other quibble is that the "free" shuttle to Universal was non-existent, esp. with parking fees anywhere you go in LA. "We can call you a cab" is not a consolation for not having this service. But these were minor quibbles for this otherwise charming hotel.

This is "the hotel" I am for long looking for in terms of room & service quality. Hotel interior is good in quality and color. People in the hotel knows what service really means. Room is clean and enough space for two. We stayed here for Universal Studio & Hollywood trip. For that, the location is perfect. Only you might have hard time to find the hotel for the first time since it is located among office buildings & regular residences, the hotel entrance is relatively narrow and a bit inward from the street, so you easily miss it while you are driving. Another small negative was they only had one small soap bar in the bath, and no new supply for next day too. Yes it may be more eco-friendly, but I personally want more of those for bath & washroom.

I encountered the houskeepers and the front desk management, and both were extremely friendly and willing to help me out. The room service food was awesome, and was delivered very quick. I am surprised that this hotel does not have a higher star rating. I booked my next visit before I checked out of the hotel.
