Fresh Hotel

I am so glad that we stayed here, because it absolutely made our stay in Athens a success. Athens is filthy and most areas are in serious neglect-- especially the block and surrounding blocks this hotel is on. Please be aware that you will not feel safe outside this hotel at night, we saw several arrests taking place, lots of hookers and filthy abandoned […] buildings. (But cabs are cheap there, so just be prepared to take them.) However, the pool and roof bar/ lounge area is a WONDERFUL place to spend your day! We woke up and relaxed up there all day and headed out to the sights around 4 PM, and that was a perfect itinerary for our stay in Athens. Beautiful design, great in-room products, fantastic breakfast. Only other bad thing is that there is no way to leave the AC on in your room while gone, so it's a bit uncomfortable when you first come home. Read more

After two weeks traveling around Greece, this was the perfect place to land before flying back to the states in the morning. The staff were so accommodating, even standing watch over our rental car until the rental car agents came to pick it up--so that we could leave and do other things. The room was clean and very stylish, with a large room and bath. One note--the rooftop pool is the size of a postage stamp, which is not obvious from the pictures. A very pleasant hotel. Very helpful staff, they made sure we had a map with the hotel location clearly marked and the locations of the major tourist spots. Everyone spoke excellent English (our Greek is very poor!). Breakfast was very good - always plenty of options and good service. There is a nice bar and pool at the top of the hotel - but the drinks […] are pricey as you might expect in a hotel (we paid more for two non-alcoholic drinks than we did for an excellent meal later that even). It was about an easy 15 min walk from the central Metro station (Monastakis) - which is on the direct line to the main airport. If you have a small case or suitcase on wheels, you can easily walk to the hotel from the Metro station if you are reasonably fit. Our room only had a shower (no bath) so make sure you request a room type with a bath if this is important. Saying that, the shower was excellent with a nice hand shower and a large rose main shower. The hotel has free wifi (as do many places in Athens) so that was really useful. The local area looked a bit run down, but we walked to and from the hotel at night over the weekend with no problems or any concern about our safety. Read more

The front desk crew were always helpful. The rooftop pool area and restaurant were very nice and the food they serve was delicious! The only tiny complaint I have is that the hot food at the breakfast buffet was more like Luke-warm food, but the fresh orange juice pretty much made up for that. I love the modern decor, the roof terrace and bar and also the warmth of the lobby (both the reception and the fireside area). This hotel is conveniently situated for buses and the Metro. Although close to the dodgy Omonia Square it is also adjacent to the much more upmarket distirct of Monostiraki. Hotel is located close to the Acroplis and the main shopping. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our bed was very comfortable and the rooms were clean. the hotel offered airport transit and this is one of the reasons why we picked it. we were there during the taxi strike and no pickups were offered. we were told we had to book it in advance when we called to confirm our flight arrival time. there was of course no space available. we were never notified that we had to schedule in advance or that it […] could be full and we woud be left taking the metro. we also need transit back to the airport for an early morning flight but the earliest available departure was 8am and our flight was at 8.50am so they said they would try and get us other means of transport. i guess they found someone to drive us but it was going to be 55 euros. so we ended up getting up at 5am and taking the metro. the hotel itself was great but the location was very seedy. leaving the hotel at 5.30 for the metro the streets had prostitues and men heckling us. Everything is pretty great about this place. Great price, great location, great breakfast included (even includes freshly squeezed orange juice). Would definitely stay again. All within a modest budget is amazing. It's more of a trendy hotel that attracts more of a younger crowd which was great. Room had a urine stench. Suspect it was coming from outside as the window was not closed. For the price paid, we thought breakfast should be included like the one we stayed in the vicinity. The wifi also had a cap on the number of users and it took after many time before we could successfully log on.
