Good overall experience, the kids enjoyed riding the cart, privacy of each unit were nice, distance from the ocean was good, but dissapointed with the bonfire. We expected to have a big one or maybe multiple of bonfire to accommodate the guests but instead it is only a small one that could be occupied by 6-8 people around, which is basically one or […] two sets of guest on the entire resort including the guest from the timeshare units. I know that it is a public bonfire, but it would be more enjoyable if there is at least 2 or 3, especially on the coming peak season . Read more

We arrived on a rainy day to a lovely room overlooking the beach, which I think all the rooms do. The fire was on in our room which was a nice touch. We ate at the onsite restaurant, the server was not great and seemed fed up. The food was very average. Wouldn't eat here again. We ordered breakfast to the room for 10 dollars each. It arrived in a big […] basket which we took out to the deck to eat, it was great good coffee and very fresh fruit. To top it off there were whales swimming very close to the shore, amazing! Very comfortable rooms, given that it is so well maintained there are a few weird things like door missing in closet in the bathroom, fireplace in the first room we stayed in was really cozy, but the second time we stayed there it didn't work as well and since that is the only source of heat and it was cold while we were there it was a little less comfortable. […] Also some of the carts had badly ripped shields - again it is the only way to get around the grounds so you need them to be providing the shield from the wind. The location is beautiful but beware when you ask for Beach view it may be a sand dune view with about 4 feet of water view. This place has paper thin walls. Our first night we were along on the ground floor. Night 2, a family moved in and we heard every noise, every child's voice, everything. Miserable. Plus the wind whistles through under the door […] enough we had to put a couple pillows to block it. The bathrooms are pedestal sinks with no place to put your cosmetics etc. To me that's a mistake. One of the pleasant surprises is the on site restaurant which is good, reasonable and accesable by golf cart. Plus realize they are selling timeshares on site. I am always leery of that. I think it divides the staff attention and smacks of a kind of sleezy sales environment that is anything but relaxing. I don't know that I would ever go back. I certainly wouldn't go back at high season because I would feel like I was staying in a commune with all the noise. Read more

Super dog friendly, great beach location. Location can't be beat. They give you a golf cart to get around the property, which was fun for the kids. The "bonfire" everyone raves about could use some simple fixes--more chairs (there were a total of 6), and it would be great if they would sell wine nearby. Also, a few sticks with marshmallows for the kids […] would have been fun. Also, when we asked for a later checkout on Sunday, it would have nice if they complied. The hotel was mostly empty and it was a Sunday so doubtful they were going to get a rush of people all of a sudden. Having never been to the Montery Peninsula before I picked this hotel based on customer reviews. I wasn't disappointed. The location is breathtaking and our room was beautiful. The view from our balcony was supposed to be "obstructed " but we could see the ocean clearly and watch the beautiful sun set.

Just a short drive from San Fran, our hotel weekend was fantastic and just what was needed. The staff was exceptionally cheerful and attentive. The rooms for fully functional, warm and inviting. The picnic breakfast and driving the golf carts were the perfect cap to the perfect weekend. I can't wait to come back!

I will start with the good. The staff at the front desk was exceptional, the private patio and the view was great, and the bed was very comfortable. Now the bad. The room was a little small, the bathroom tub shower was very small, the bathroom didn't have any shelf space for your toiletries. I thought I was getting private beach access from my patio, […] when in fact it was the resorts private beach access through a walkway about 200 feet from my unit.I got a similar room in Cambria that was much better for $250 + $27 tax, this room was $335 + $57 tax, I'm not sure what the story is with that, but that's not the hotel's fault. The restaurant greeter took us to a table and when we asked for a booth she said OK and just left us standing in the middle of nowhere. The waitress was very good, the food was marginal and overpriced. I will be going back up here next year, but I think I will find a place that is a better value. Read more

We were pleasantly surprised at the top-notch treatment from the staff as well as the accommodations. Noisy, you can hear the other guests, and the water heater made noise whenever anyone used the shower. Expect to be woke up whenever the other guests use the bathrooms. The only good thing was the beach location.

The location of the resort is what gets high stars.It is located in the middle of a nature preserve and has access to the beach...and surprising fact is...it is an awesome beach with almost no one there except for the people from this resort. My husband and I go away once a year without the kids for a romantic getaway. I was excited to stay here based on other reviews and this place met all of our expectations. The beach is secluded and beautiful. The location is close to the many things to see in Monterey but is away from the hustle of tourists and traffic. We stayed in one of the suites and it was spacious and quite nice. Our 1st floor deck had a partial beach view with the beach a 3 minute walk from our door. Our next stay we'll go for a full view. We will definitely be coming back.
