Hotel Ariston - Milan

Friendly hotel with nice staff and good breakfast for beeing in Italy. The rooms are clean but not very modern. The best of everything is the location. Close to Navigli witjh all the restaurant and coffeshops and just a 5 min walk to the Doume.

Great hotel for the price. Breakfast could have been better. The room was nice but very small. We got a lovely view of a brick wall and the location of the hotel was only about a 10 minute crazy cab drive from the train station.

This hotel was a little difficult to find. Between the one way streets and street name changes, we almost gave up trying to find this hotel. However, we persisted and we were glad we did. This is a very simple, bare bones hotel with very little amenities. However, it is located in a prime area of Milano within steps from a shopping district and close to all other destinations. I suggest taking the Malpensa Express to Milano Cadorna and walking over to the hotel.

Our first impression was horrible the second we walked in the door. We asked where we could park and the guy at the front desk just told my wife it was 20 Euros to park at the hotel and didn't give any other suggestions and he was not very service oriented from the get-go. Once we finally found parking, we came in and he asked us for our "documents." […] we've been traveling all over Italy and while most places do ask for them, we never bring them w/ us as a drivers license usually suffices. This time, the guy rudely told us that our DL's won't fly and even when I produced 3 credit cards in my name, plus business cards it didn't matter. He could not have been more rude and we were literally walking out the door when he picked up the phone and made a call where apparently they decided they would make an exception this time. We thought we were going to have to either sleep in our car or spend our vacation time searching for another hotel which would have been horrible in the summer heat. After that interaction, everything seemed to get better. The room was clean and kept very cold which was great cause it was very hot outside. The location was maybe 10 minutes down a main street to get to the duomo and there are plenty of restaurants and little shops nearby. Safe neighborhood too. So aside from the horrible customer service, I would recommend the hotel, just don't forget to bring your passports! Read more

I Think is a good hotel but is very expensive for a 3 star, but maybe that is the normal price because is in Milan, but I stayed in London in a very best hotel than this and it was cheaper. In general, for the price that I payed, I would look for another hotel, maybe a 4 star.

I made a reservation to stay here for the 1st and last nights of my trip (about 2 an a half weeks apart). On the positive side, this hotel is in a great and central location, close to the Duomo and not far from the train station or Linate airport. It is also modern, clean, and comfortable. The main reason for the "3" rating is that the service could be improved. When we arrived the first night, after 24 hours of traveling, the concierage informed us that there had been a "problem" with our room and sent us to the hotel next door (which was comparable). On the last night before we left (when we actually stayed at Ariston) it seemed like every time I asked the concierage a question I was bothering him (I only had a few!). Overall, not a bad value given the location. I would consider trying to stay somewhere else next time just to make a comparison. Read more

After a long day of sightseeing I settled onto the bed to work on emails, only to learn that I could not be given the code for the wiifi over the hotel phone, but would need to pay the $10.00 EU at the front desk and receive the code. I redressed, got the code and settle back to work. After repeated attempts to get a signal, I resorted to using a free, […] unlocked wi-fi probably belonging to a nearby resident. I was later told that the hotel has trouble with their wi-fi signal and they refunded my $10.00. I would like to have known before I purchased the code initially. Then, ready to head to bed I decided to fill the jacuzzi tub for a relaxing bath. Ready to turn on the jacuzzi and step into the tub I read the small sign on the wall that indicated the need to get a key from the front desk (also for $10 EU) that would turn on the jacuzzi. Had an excellent stay at the Ariston for one night.The hotel is 7-10 mins walk from the Duomo which is ideal. Breakfast was plentiful. Staff were friendly. We selected this hotel because it was reasonably priced and within easy walking distance of the Duomo area. My wife and I traveled by car with our 3-year old daughter. Our purpose was tourism, and we were not disappointed with our choice. I've stayed in many hotels all over Italy and found the standard at the Ariston to be very good in its class. Within a 10-15 min walk from the hotel you have the sights around the Duomo area, and, in the immediate neighbourhood, plenty of shopping and restaurants. Hotel Ariston is very comfortable and clean. It has everything you need - our room even had a walk-in wardrobe and jacuzzi bath (although we couldn't work out how to get the jacuzzi to work...). You can even walk there from the Central Station with no problem. The only down side to this hotel was that the air con did not work, the jacuzzi bath did not work and the room is very noisy at night if you don't shut the window (but with it shut, you'll have no problem sleeping).
