Hotel is much better than some reviews have indicated. Hotel mgmt & staff have paid close attention to reviews & making changes that make a difference. Have made staff changes & undergone re-training. Staff is superb…all needs satisfied & accommodated. Surroundings & location: phenomenal! Despite older Mad Men 50s retro feel, hotel is nicely updated […] w remodeled interiors. Room was large, w robes, fridge, coffeemaker, iron/board, hair dryer, fireplace, individ balcony & plenty of room for toiletries. Sink was outside the bathroom but w mirror & plenty of counterspace. No tub, but not unusual for historic/area hotels. Some reviewers must b paying less for smaller rooms in far back building w limited space/less amenities. Theres afterall a difference btwn a standard room & deluxe part/full view room. If u want nice but cheaper room, u will get less for it. Pay a bit more & get what u want w a more deluxe room! This reviewer feels room was great! Restaurant has good food w nice menu variety. But, if big into wine, watch out for the wine list! There may be errors in listings of appellations. New Wine Mngr is working on correcting this. They do also need more quality wine glasses: when booking multiple banquet events, while running a restaurant & bar, they can run out of "good" wine glasses & resort to lower-quality ones with a rim. All "wine snobs" know that makes a big difference to the taste of the wine! But servers are excellent, bend over backwards, even on a very busy night! Read more

It is located just across the street from the beautiful Morro Bay golf course. The ocean view rooms are very spacious and attractively furnished. Can't wait to go back again!

Keep this in mind before you go here. Most reviews are about how good or bad the room was. The beds, the view. My biggest issue is being told the hotel will hold 50 dollars on my debit card for incidental charges and then find out they held close to 300! Requested coffee to be sent to room to make coffee from the provided coffee maker and was told they would bring it but never did. Pillows were way to soft for my liking. There was also no way to open sliding door to get fresh air as there was no screen.

The hotel itself was nice. The parking lot was a little awkward. Stuff friendly upon check-in and what not. Room was super small and for as much money as your paying for this hotel there is no fridge or even microwave (even Motel 6 has microwaves). But super clean and cute overall.

Overall just what I wanted, situated between Pismo Beach & San Simieon, in Morro Bay- but off the beaten path. Hotel & surroundings nice & quite. Bird sanctuary to south of hotel, black car was pretty white by morning, no biggy. parked car to the north, not so bad. I would stay here again. Staff was top notch

Charged for everything, no bathtub in rooms, jacuzzi was down for 2 of 3 nights we stayed there. Surprised toilet paper wasn't extra cost, coffee in lobby was even 2.75. Staff was knocking on our door at 0830 to have us out, very rude staff. Hotel is in a nice area.

Everything was great - except the beds were too soft (maybe need to replace mattresses??) And there was a group of 6-8 men occupying the 2-3 rooms next to us, that were partying until midnight outside their rooms (so just outside ours) setting off firecrackers and making dogs bark - but nothing was done about getting them to be quiet, so others could […] sleep. The many things that were offered in the ads for this Resort weren't there. A refrigerator, a hot tub, robes. They didn't even have a map, they were out of copies, of the local area for restaurants, shopping etc. After going downtown for dinner, there were so many more places available. Don't waste your money.

Location of hotel is great! Away from the busy touristy downtown but only within a few minutes reach to everything. We enjoyed their breakfast buffet which included waffles and pancakes with lots of fruit toppings! Customer service was horrible, just kids who didn't care about your overall experience at the hotel. Room was nice but a little cramped. Bathroom sink was in the bedroom so that was weird.

I found the staff not very helpful and busy talking about their personal matters than helping hotel guests. It is like they hired a bunch of college kids that are working at the hotel just to collect a check.

This was my first time in Morro Bay. The service at the front desk was a little snooty and brisk. But later was nicer when we called asking if we could borrow wine glasses from the resturant. The rooms were a little smaller than I thought judging on the pictures but clean. The fireplace was a nice touch. We had a partial ocean view and the back patio is on a concrete deck you share with your neighbors. It was nice but not that intimate, if that's what your looking for. Nevertheless a beautiful ocean view. It's inside the state park and offers golf, camping, and other site seeing very close by, probably be more fitting if we were staying multiple days with more people. We had a wonderful time in Morro Bay. The hotel was newly renovated and right on the water with a lush, green golf course located out back. The hotel staff were accommodating and attentive. We'll definitely return!

Overall very satisfied. Not all that far from wine country. Only gripe is that they charge for a very simple continental breakfast that would be free at most places. So stay here but go out for breakfast.

There is no place to set your toiletries in the bathroom. Very difficult to dry hair with blow dryer because there is no FLAT space on the sink to place it. also there is no table in room to put laptop or to write. Very small table is used for coffee and cups. Too low to do much good. We had to look around for glasses. Finally found them underneath […] the bedside table. Who designed this room? When we went for breakfast in the AM we were told to sit anywhere but must have sat for 10 minutes before the waitress came back and then we had to flag her down to get coffee, get refills, and ask for check. The grounds were magnificent and being near Bayside Cafe was great! Our room was cold and didn't have proper heating. My wife and stayed there over the weekend to just get away from the world. We were pleasantly surprised at the beauty of the surrounding area and the the room considering a king with partial ocean view was only 155 before taxes. We liked it so much that we recommended it to my in in laws who are staying there this weekend.

I would give the hotel a much higher rating but they had some AWFUL air freshener in the room and even with the sliding door wide open and the bathroom window open, I couldn't get rid of the smell! It was so bad that it woke me up coughing during the night -- I had to pull the blanket over my head (and the window and door were still open!) to breathe! […] I looked everywhere to try to find it and put it outside but never found it. Other than that, the room was quite lovely and the view was fabulous -- loved the birds roosting in the nearby trees and the sea otters! Great location, beautiful landscaped property, great place to dine and watch the sunset. This Inn has greater potential. The dinning room needs remodeling and needs more wait staff. The poor girl did her best, waiting on eights tables. Food was just Ok for us. Pasta was a bit to al Dente. The salmon portion was small for the price. Looked like it was […] 4 oz. for $26...potato's was under cooked and cold while the plate was hot. The Chef has a put together a nice menu but it needed updating. Some items were not available. We have been staying at this hotel since the 1960's. Management has changed hands several times over the years. The current owners seem to be trying, the grounds and harbor views are wonderful, you folks are just missing it with the polish. No flowers in the lobby, lobby not appealing, bar windows needed to be washed. Looked into the dining room, not […] set up, not appealing, we had no meals in hotel.
