"Very convenient, well appointed hotel."
We stayed at Hotel Berchielli 13 years ago and liked it. It was so convenient and had a great staff. Lobby was lovely. At that time the rooms were just ok. So we decided to stay there again this time because of the convenience factor. This time they had remodeled the rooms and it was nicely done. Rooms now match the level of decor in the lobby. It is […] an extremely clean and well run hotel. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast. Views of the Arno are nice, but would recommend interior rooms which are quieter for outside noises. (darn Florence motor scooters :-) ) (We have stayed in both) Would stay there again if we return to Florence or would certainly recommend to friends. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Hotel close to tourist places."
Florence is beautiful, a lots of things to do, good food, nice restaurants. We did a tour to Pisa and Lucas wine tasting, just 1:30 hours from Florence. We walk every day. To explore Florence we need a least one week. I lovedGenuine Expedia guest review
"Incredible rooms and baths!"
An elegant, boutique-style hotel with all of the amenities in a perfect location: right in the heart of Florence, fronting the River Arno and Ponte Vecchio, but on a quiet street. The staff is reserved, but generally helpful and are knowledgable about most things Tuscan (Ask for Simone). But the rooms are the "starring feature" at this hotel. We had […] a beautiful, over-sized room even by US standards, with an incredible, marble bathroom (and we booked just a basic double!). Spacious public areas including a beautiful, comfortable lobby and ample breakfast room. Satisfying breakfast featuring hot items like eggs, pancakes and breakfast meats which are not the standard for most "continental" buffets. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Our room opened over the river and was in easy walk to everything we wanted to visit. Hotel was charming and well appointed. Staff polite and helpful. Wifi was iffy in room but always great in lobby. Would definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
We stayed in a room that had a balcony facing the Arno River just a few feet away. The hotel is just a block away from the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery. All the other main sights are also an easy walk away. The room was spacious and inviting. We took nice long baths in the marble tub. The buffet breakfast had a nice range of choices from pancakes, […] eggs, bacon fruit, cereal, croissants, etc. Staff were professional and friendly. I would most definitely stay here again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Perfect location on the Arno River - within walking distance of everything you must see (example <5 minutes to Ufizi <10 to Duomo). Room was overlooking river and very large by Europe standards. Only issue was A/C could not keep up in 90 degree heat, although this did not hinder us it was only a slight discomfort. Hotel lobby was well air conditioned […] with ample seating area. Breakfast was satisfying. Beautiful hotel especially when considering the age of the building and surroundings. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"5 star hotel for a 3 star price"
Our stay at the Hotel Berchielli was great. It was close to the train station and to the major attractions. The staff was helpful and courteous, they spoke pretty good English. Room was nice sized for Italy and it had great air conditioning. The breakfast buffet was fabulous. Eggs, pancakes, sausages, juices, many baked goods and lots of fruit.Genuine Expedia guest review
"This hotel is GREAT!!!!"
This hotel is awesome! The moment we walked in we were greeted by a friendly desk staff. The breakfast was great with a wonderful waitstaff to see to your every need. Geovanni the bartender is truly a class act, and the roof deck is a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Florence. I DEFINITELY recommend this hotel!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Hotel Berchielli is a very nice hotel in a great location on the river near the Ponte Vecchio bridge. The rooms are small, like most European hotels, but are nicely appointed. Beds are comfortable. The front desk staff, the bell staff and housekeeping staff are nice and very helpful. The bartenders in the lobby bar are very talented and bend over […] backwards to accommodate guests, including delivering drinks to the 4th floor outdoor terrace, which is a nice getaway place for guests (except for the most uncomfortable metal chairs you have ever experienced...take a pillow!). The only complaint I have about this very nice hotel is the weak wifi service. It is so weak, we frequently had to go down to the lobby to get a signal and then hope it lasted long enough to check our email ...but often it didn't. The only reliable way to access the internet is to use the desktop computer they provide for guests in the lobby next to the front desk. If they improve the antiquated wifi service, there will be nothing but great things to say about this very nice hotel Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a great hotel. They upgraded us to a loft-style room, with 2 bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a tub. It had a wonderful, huge patio, where we were able to hang laundry one day! We did not have a view of the river, but the surrounding buildings and old church were pleasant. The breakfast was very good, with eggs, bacon, pancakes, pastries, […] fruit, yogurt, cereal, etc. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We always take the stairs, and since the hotel converted two separate buildings to make one, there are a lot of crazy stairways, so pay attention to how you come and go, if you use the stairs. The hotel is about a 10 min. walk from the train station, or a 12EU taxi ride. It is in a great neighborhood, close to the Duomo, Accademia, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, Pitti Palace and lots of shopping and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again. If we ever have the opportunity to return to Florence, this hotel would be my first choice. Our "triple" room happened to include a second bedroom as well as a second bathroom, which greatly pleased our 20-something daughter. There was also a 4th floor outdoor patio area complete with a canopy that was a lovely respite from sightseeing. Breakfast area […] was elegant and the food choices were excellent. It's location on the Arno close to Ponte Vecchio was so convenient. Staff was equally top notch. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"IDEAL spot in Florence"
Our stay could not have been better. The hotel staff were SO great - friendly and helpful; they got to know us and always greeted us with a smile and kind words. We had some special needs (a change of rooms when we brought a 2nd daughter in) and the assistance was flawless. We also enjoyed the onsite breakfast each day; great food, and the cooks/baristas […] made cappuccino with artistic pictures in the foam (hearts, animals, etc.) - they brought it with a smile, and it made our day very special. I'm not sure they realize how important and how appreciated their efforts are! Overall a wonderful stay, and we hope to return to Berchielli. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We had an impossible time driving to the hotel as one end was block with road construction the othe end of the block was one way do not enter! After 90 minutes, and talking to three different sets of cops.... I said screw it and drove down the wrong way of a one street to get to the hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel, friendly helpful staff, great bar for a night cap and a superb location. Will make this home base on all future trips to Florence.Genuine Expedia guest review
Our room was very adorable and we love the location of the hotel. No complaints here. We would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location Location Location"
We wanted to stay in the heart of the city and this hotel was only a one minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio. The location however entails parking outside the inner ring and walking or taking a cab to the hotel. The folks at the desk were wonderfully helpful, trying to ensure you can get to anywhere you need to be. I'd suggest if you stay here you pay […] the extra for the room with a view of the Arno river, the others look at walls of buildings. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not up to expectation"
This 4-star hotel did not, in my opinion, live up to its rating. Most significantly the room was not ready at the advertised check in time which is just not acceptable. The room was small by any standards - I have stayed in another hotel in Florence which was spectacular (and unfortunately fully-booked on this occasion) and sparsely equipped. The breakfast, […] although reasonably extensive, was of average quality. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Charming and great location"
We loved our stay in Florence, and could not have selected a better hotel. My husband and I were traveling with my parents, and our rooms shared a small little vestibule/entry off of the main hallway, so it felt a bit more personal than having our hotel room doors right on the main hallway. The bathrooms were "modern" compared to most hotel bathrooms […] in Europe. The hotel location was convenient to major sites and beautiful, just alongside the Arno River. We loved the little courtyard area with the Church on the other side, as well as the Garden Terrace which was just across the hallway from our rooms. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Place to stay to be near almost everything"
This was a great place to stay. Convenient to most everything you might want to visit. The staff at the front desk is first class....friendly, helpful and always making you feel welcome. The small lobby bar is fun to stop at for a pre-dinner cocktail....both bartenders were professional, friendly and halarious to talk with....make sure you stop by for […] at least on drink before a night out. "Perfect in Florence"
The hotel is tucked away on a small side street just a block from the Ponte Vecchio, though it seems like worlds away - The staff is attentive and told us about smaller restaurants and places to go that were off the beaten path, giving us a less touristy view of Florence, while still being near enough to all of it to make walking the way to go. The […] room was large and had an outside balcony that we sat on during the eveining with a glimpse of the Duomo (there are some rooms overlooking the river available as well). If you're looking to be in the middle of it all, without being in the middle of it all, then this is the place to go. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Lovely boutique hotel in a great location"
We have stayed at the Berchielli before and always enjoyed our stay. This time or room was upgraded, and we had the perfect view of the Arno. Always a pleasure !Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Better the second time around"
I just love the location of this hotel. It is right near the Ponte Vecchio. My room and bathroom this time was much larger. I found the staff at the reception extremely helpful and responsive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Perfect location in relation to Ponte Vecchio and Pitti Palace area of town, but not walking distance from train station, if that is important. Right on Arno River. Very close to best high end shopping area. Included breakfast was outstanding, but I did miss having coffee available in room. Hotel staff was most helpful and accommodating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very close to many sights"
Lovely lobby, nicely-decorated room; however, the room was warm and the air conditioning wasn't available yet (we were there in early April). There was a nice breeze when we opened the window, but we got mosquitoes in the room that way. Aside from that little problem, the breakfasts were terrific and the outside spaces were lovely. Do ask for a room […] that opens to the courtyard to avoid street noise. Ours was an interior room and it was very quiet even though the hotel is quite close to the Ponte Vecchio. "Great location with superb views."
The hotel is well located and we had superb views over the River Arno. The room was very comfortable, although, in our opinion, not to the four star level. Details, such as a box of Kleenex, coffee/tea making facilities and meager bathroom accessories were missing. The staff were efficient but not over friendly and not forthcoming with information on […] the area. The bartender was pretty unfriendly and made us feel as though our presence was a burden! "Book a river view room (See photo)"
We were lucky to book a river view room...It had a balcony with double doors that opened over the river with direct views to the Ponte Vecchio...IT was a fantastic spot to enjoy an evening glass of wine. "Super hotel in Florence"
We stayed at the hotel the last week in March 2013. The hotel room was wonderful and very large especially for Europe. We had breakfast every morning at the Hotel which had eggs, breads, fruit, meats, & juices. It was really very good. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The location is excellent, we walked every place in Florence, and it wasn't […] too far to walk to the train station for our day trips to Venice and Rome. This was our 5th stay at Hotel Berchielli. Great location right on the river and walking to any of the attractions in Florence is a breeze. Staff is great as is the facility. I would not think of staying anywhere else. Hotel has a fantastic breakfast room with staff and large selection of food.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Central, friendly, and efficient hotel in Florence"
A small hotel, beautifully located near many sights. The staff is friendly and efficient. Single rooms don't have the river view--you need a double for that. There is a bountiful breakfast buffet, and the welcoming service staff will bring tea or coffee to your table rapidly. Only one problem--the room was too hot. I highly recommend the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent location and service"
Excellent hotel in the heart of Florence. Easily one of the cleanest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Will stay here again"
The only thing I did NOT like was the room was way too warm. Had to leave the window open all the time. On week-ends it was noisy with the window open. Everything else was great. Loved the location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Just spent two weeks traveling in Italy. Worst Hotel of the lot. I agree with the Brit comments. No way this is a 4 star. Lobby is nice, but the Hotel is just a bottom line operation. Impersonal staff, who ignore you for no reason. (with the exception of a couple of young ladies, who I assume are in training). Marginal no host breakfast. Rooms seem […] to be furnished with cast offs. Elevators are ready for a museum. Floor plan all chopped up. This is your basic tour package hotel and is run as such. 3 star at best. "Great location, service and room, highly recommend"
This hotel is in the perfect spot. It's truly 4 stars - by Italian standards, which is a little less nice than American standards. "Where to stay in Florence"
The Hotel Berchielli is amazing! The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The view from our window overlooking the Arno River and the Ponte Vechio, transports you back to the Renaissance era. The hotel provides a delicious breakfast, better than most 5 star hotels. The staff greets you with a genuine smile and a boungiorno, catering to all your […] needs. "Good value for your money!"
Good location, helpful staff - especially those in the breakfast room. We had a room on the 6th floor and it was quite warm; we ended up opening the window. We had drinks one evening in the bar, but there was no bartender in sight - finally had to ask at the front desk and they sent somebody. Overall, a very nice hotel - good value for your money!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Could not have been nicer...."
Perfect hotel in a central ideal location. There is a beautiful square with a Tiffany & Co. right behind the property. A delicious free breakfast was included. Very nice staff...my room was small, but it was in the back and therefore quiet and the price was right...I could not have been happier.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Outstanding hotel, outstanding location!"
This is a beautiful, mid-size hotel in the heart of Florence. The location cannot be beat. You are a two to ten minute walk to all of the great art, architecture, and culinary destinations you want to see in Florence. You are a 15-minute walk or five-minute cab ride to the main train station for your day trips to Siena, Pisa, or Chianti. Wonderful breakfast, […] all very luxurious and nice staff. The rooms are "European", so don't expect a palatial bathroom or an over-size bedroom. But when in Italy, live like an Italian, and you will LOVE this hotel! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel in a good location!"
The hotel is located right along the River Arno, not too far from the Ponte Vecchio. Making it a good place to walk to everything...The Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, Pitti Palace, Boboli Gardens, all the different piazzas, restaurants, shops, etc. The staff was mostly helpful. Big piece of advice....DO NOT drive a car in Florence if you don't have to. It's […] a nightmare. Parking is almost impossible. Take a taxi from the airport, which cost between 25 and 30 euros. And then just walk if you don't plan to leave Florence. We did rent a car and drove south to Siena and then further south to Montalcino and spent a couple nites in a B&B there, which I would highly recommend. But you don't need, nor do you want, to drive around Florence to get from place to place within the city. The breakfast included at the hotel was pretty decent. There's a bar off the lobby which is a nice place to hang for a glass of wine and get something to eat if you don't feel like leaving the hotel for a nite. The bartender that was there the whole week we were isn't Mr. Friendly. I don't know if it's a dislike of Americans or his general disposition, but he didn't go out of his way to be nice or offer great service. And we spoke moderate Italian. Overall, we liked the hotel. It had what we needed and was clean and comfortable. I'd recommend it to others. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely Hotel, Excellent Location, Great Value"
The location of the Berchielli is an A+ on the Arno River between the Ponte Vecchio and the Micheangelo bridge. If it's within your budget, treat yourself to a river view room. The view is truly breathtaking but be prepared for the traffic noise if you sleep with the windows open. The room and the public areas are quite basic- clean, comfortable, a […] little tired but well maintained. Staff are very professional and reasonably pleasant. The breakfast is good- the spread is good quality but it's the exact same every day. The hotel is located in easy, close proximity (walking distance) to everything you'd want to visit in Florence including the train station if you take a day trip to Pisa or somewhere else. Finally, this was great value for Florence, just don't expect Four Seasons or St Regis or Savoy. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Wonderful hotel in a great location. Staff and service was great. Had a beautiful room for three with our daughter and a great view of the river.
