Great stay. Room large by European standards. Staff very helpful. Would be nice if shower weren't just a fixture on bathtub wall that sends water into bathroom floor, but that was a small issue. Terrific value!

This is a very nice hotel. They execute well in all aspects. It is generally a good place but my personal experience did not meet my expectations. I picked this place because the reviews talked about great views and nice rooms. I was planning some down time on a long trip and I wanted to spend some time in my room. The staff was friendly enough. The […] room actually had 2 flights of stairs inside of the room. When you open the door to the room you have to climb 2 small flights of stairs to get to the room. Not bad but it annoyed me. My room had a small window in the corner that looked out over the building next door. No view. The room was large enough but not really big. There was only a bathtub and it was rather small. A shower head was fitted in the middle decreasing the usable space further so taking a shower was somewhat unpleasant. It was not a room that I wanted to spend any time in. They had a "roof garden" but it was on the 4th of 6 floors. The view was not bad but not spectacular. There was no service in the roof garden and the chairs were awkward metal chairs that were very uncomfortable. The location was quite good. Easy walking distance to everything. If you stay here pay for an upgraded room. Read more

Fantastic hotel for the price. We were very pleased with the rooms and the staff was very nice. Morning breakfast was from 7 to 11 every day . Lots of choices and the waiters will make You a cappuccino or latte. Plus you can't get a better location! would absolutely stay there again.

Quiet, peaceful, elegant but not intimidating. Gorgeous room with private patio overlooking the Piazza del Limbo. Delicious, generous complimentary breakfast in beautiful dining room. Free wi-fi service. Air-conditioning. Just a block away from the Ponte Vecchio. Extremely hospitable and helpful staff.

They gave us a fabulous recommendations for everything from the best way to see the sights to the most fabulous dinner locations! There wasn't anything to complain about the Hotel Berchielli. Every person on staff was very helpful and courteous and our room perfectly fit our needs. The location was ideal: a short walk to the Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi, and the Duomo. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend this hotel to others.

This was a great, centrally located place if you want to walk, sightsee and shop around Florence. The hotel lobby was nicely appointed. I liked that there was a bar in the lobby. Breakfast buffet was really nice-- scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon plus to usually Italian staples with prosciutto, fruit juices, cereal, yogurt and on and on. I spent nine nights at this hotel in late March. The location is ideal—less than a five minute walk to Uffizi and just down the block from Ponte Vecchio. Everything you want to see in Florence is within walking distance...Boboli Gardens, Piazza Michelangelo... However, the best thing about this hotel is the staff. Anything I needed help with was no […] problem at all. Everyone was friendly and professional. The room was cleaned to a sparkle daily to a point that if I had brought a glass into the room from the breakfast buffet, a clean one was placed in the exact location that I had left the used one. Truly remarkable service. Furthermore, I had left a lens shade (for my camera) in the lobby one day after a long walk and the bartender down the hall found it and made a point to return it to me the next time I saw him...It would have cost me over $150 to replace. The terrace is great on a clear day and the breakfast buffet is more than adequate to keep you satisfied until late afternoon (open from 7-11 every morning)...And a freshly brewed cappuccino to go with your eggs, cereals, meats, croissants, pancakes, yogurts, fruits...etc. Bottom line is that I cannot imagine anyone not enjoying a stay here. I have absolutely no regrets about choosing Hotel Berchielli and I will definitely stay there when I return to Florence. I have a treasure chest of positive memories from my Italian trip and Hotel Berchielli is one of the main reasons everything went so well. Read more

My reservation had been " confirmed and paid in full" when I booked, about 2 weeks before my visit. However, upon checking out, hotel charged us EXTRA taxes. When questioned, they said that these had been put into effect 2 months ago.They wouldn't accept my print -out showing my 2 week previous date of booking a " paid- in full reservation".

It took us 1 hour to get to the hotel when we were 100 feet away because all the streets were closed. We finally got to the room and opened the window for fresh air and took a nap. I woke up itching, turned on the lights, and noticed about 20 mosquitos on the wall.
