Great location but very run down and very dirty. Quality of rooms and public area very very disappointing, staff very friendly and helpful. Needs major revamp!! Don't stay there till this has been done.

If this is a 4 star hotel, I cannot imagine how a 3 or lower rating hotel might be.You could tell the room was not cleaned every day. The refrigerator was not working, the tv was smaller or the same size as my iPad. Closet wise, there was no room to hang the clothes and the beds were all tilted to one side or bent in the middle towards one side which […] made sleeping very uncomfortable. The breakfast buffet was as awful as it could be. Bad coffee, small dining room, and simple. In the room the bathroom was not functioning properly. The shower could not be adjusted and there was not curtain to avoid wetting all of the bathroom. The location was great but the stay was not pleasant. I would rate this hotel as a 1 star hotel. The location was great. It was along the Arno river and right across the Piazzale Michelangelo (of course it was a quite a hike to get to the top). We had no problems checking in. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Wifi is only available in the common areas on the first floor but that was not a problem for us. The gentleman at the front desk allowed us to leaving our belongings in a locked room so we could leave to explore Pisa and not waste our day. So accommodating! The rooms are typical of what you would find in a European hotel. The only problem that we had was that the bathrooms weren't as clean as we would have liked them to be. The decor was a bit outdated but I guess it was part of the European charm. But other than that, the beds were clean and comfortable for a night's rest. Hotel has big rooms and they are kept clean. The location is good, a 10 minute walk along the river to get to the Ponte Vecchio. My wife and I found it to be very convenient. A bonus was a river view from the large front window. The bathroom was big with two sinks, toilet, bidet, and tub w/shower. The downside was that the tub had now shower curtain, […] so showering got water all over the bathroom floor. The TV in the room is a very old and small CRT TV that didn't work. There was also free WIFI in the lobby which worked well, but no option for the rooms. We had a room facing the road that went along the river, and there was constant noise of cars that died down a bit at night. It didn't keep us up, but light sleepers might have problems unless you are put on the back side away from the road. The location of the hotel was quite good as it was near the city centre but quite accessible by car. Parking is quite expensive (25 Euros per day) unless you decide to risk parking in the street, which is free overnight and on Sundays. The hotel is quite old and the wall paper was peeling off the walls in some parts of the room. The hotel is fine for a night, or if you plan to be out all the time. Facilities are a bit old and need some update and we have gotten more for the price in other hotels in the region. But the location is exceptional, is just 2 blocks from the main action and in the river shore, what means you can walk to anywhere in 5-10 minutes, and you don't have […] the continuous noise that you get in the hotels 2 blocks away, and the view of the river from the hotel room is also outstanding, so if you stay ask for the rooms with a view of the river (you will pay slightly more but is definitively worth it) Only valet parking is available and quite expensive (more than twice of what other hotels charge), so this is a minus if you have a car. I would've given a better overall rate except for the price, since for the season, I was expecting a bit more comfort based on what was paid. Ritz Hotel was very conveniently located right on the Arno near Santa Croce. Our room was in the back of the hotel, so it was nice and quiet. The staff was very friendly and gave good recommendations. Our room also had a terrace that we enjoyed very much. The decor is a bit old, but all in all, we had a good stay.

This hotel was in a good location for exploring the main attractions in Florence. Within 10 minutes, we made it to the churches, town hall, and Uffizi Gallery on foot. A laundromat was close by, as well as restaurants. The best part of our room was the view we had of the Arno River out our window. While this hotel has seen better days, the overall quality was good for the price. The breakfast buffet was well-rounded, with juice, coffee, milk, cereal, yogurt, bread, etc. We were especially impressed by the front desk staff who answered all questions with knowledge, patience, and professionalisim. They also made great suggestions for places to eat and gave us tips that saved time and money. Best of all, they asked us about other parts of our trip in Italy, and gave us suggestions for other areas, too. If you're looking for a fairly centrallly located hotel with a great staff, view, and modest accomodations, this is a geat choice when visiting Florence. Read more

We were after something affordable and conveniently located, and I would rate the Ritz Hotel highly on both counts. The hotel is within walking distance (15-20 minutes walk) from all the major attractions. We only really needed a taxi to get to and from the airport, and to get to one of two of the more far-flung places we went to visit. Note: renting […] a taxi in Florence costs upwards of EUR30. On check in, we asked for a room looking out over the Arno, and got precisely that - it was every bit as scenic as is shown in the photos on the website (very romantic :-)). The hotel staff are amiable, courteous and efficient. For example, one of them went rummaging around in the supply cupboard in the middle of the night to find us some shampoo when we'd run out! The rooms are air-conditioned, moderately comfortable and are cleaned daily. On the downside: the road outside is very noisy, since it appears to be the main route for ambulances (there are at least 5 or 6 every night), so bring earplugs (we did, and had little trouble sleeping). Breakfast was included in the price, but it is pretty basic, and since the rooms are not self-catering, you end up having to eat out for most meals, adding a fair amount to the cost of the trip. That said, I'd recommend eating out anyway! Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for something in the 3-4 star range. You won't get palatial luxury, but it is certainly value for money. We very much enjoyed our stay. Read more

Let me start be saying that we really enjoyed our stay at the Ritz and the value was very good. However I wanted to pick up the hotel owners and give them a good shaking - you are going letting a potential great hotel slide downhill! It hasn't been reviewed much and the great breakfasts mentioned before have gone. Do not believe the picture on the hotel […] details. Two weeks of the same basic cheap ham/cheese, hard rolls, orange juice and cold beverages. Variety isn't that expensive. Cleaning of the public areas wasn't great and minor repairs needed doing. In the case of the room it was large and had a (slightly untidy) private balcony. linen was changed frequently. Again let down by easy stuff - the bin wasn't emptied for days, the toilet paper ran out, only one plug between bath/basin, really poor TV set .Strangely no hotel guide / do not disturb (I asked the helpful desk staff- not an oversight). The big downside was very noisy plumbing and airconditioning - probably again just needs maintenance.. Despite spec there was no sign of restaurant in hotel or nightclub. Read more

Kom en dag för tidigt till hotellet, fick ett rum som var hemskt.. Unket, mörkt och trist! Pratade med personalen att vi absolut ville ha ett bättre rum med utsikt, dagen efter fick vi ett underbart, stort, ljust rum med balkong där vi bodde i en vecka och stortrivdes!

Wir haben das Hotel aufgrund der guten Lage und den guten Preis gewählt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und alle Wünsche wurden zur vollsten Zufriedenheit ausgeführt. Leider wurde das Hotel seit 30-40 Jahre nicht mehr renoviert. Badezimmer sehr ekelig, aber für den Preis vl. in Ordnung.
