I must say that I did enjoy, staying in Hotel Jorge V, located along Lisbon's famous Avenida de Liberdade. My room up on the 7th floor came with a tiny... balcony with a clear view of Baixa, the lowest, however, the most exciting district with lively squares that are bordered with uphill and downhill streets that are cobbled. They remind me of those streets in Rio. Lisbon, being a hilly metropolis, can be a challenge to people who are not fond of leisure walk, but the strong-willed ones will take comfort seeing century-old churches that abound and pastry shops or 'confeiterias' are plentiful when in need for a respite. At the day's end, the hotel offers a clean and homey place to rest. Breakfast consists, mainly, of scrambled eggs, fried eggs, hard-boiled eggs, and one more egg dish might just, as well, provide its guests more than enough protein to sustain them for the rest of their stay in Lisbon. Staff members are helpful. The hotel is a good price and in a good location. It is easy to walk to from a couple of different subway/metro stops. The staff was helpful and the facility was good. The elevators are odd as they require you to shut a sliding door to allow them to operate. If the last person to use the elevator does not shut the door it will not operate and you are […] stuck walking the stairs. The room was adequate with a king / 2 twins in one room and a single bed and crib in another. The sperate room for kids is helpful when you are trying to put them to sleep without going to bed yourself. The view was pretty bad from the room but we didn't go there to look out of the window. A very decent hotel in a quiet neighbourhood within 10 min walking distance from Praca de Pombal, the departure point for major tourist buses, and Avenida de Liberdade, a boulvard connecting Praca de Pombal to the City Centre. Rooms are a bit dated. We had a room for three adults, the third bed was quite small for a 5'11" son. Take your own hairdryer. Hotel is wat aftands en kan een opfrissing gebruiken. Alle basics zijn er wel en ze zijn OK: goede bedden, badkamer die in orde is en lekker ontbijtbuffet. Vast tapijt in de kamer vinden we wel niet echt hygiënisch. Aan de straatkant is er lawaai 's nachts. Prijs/kwaliteit is prima.

Hotellet var valgt pga plassering og rimelig pris. Synd at bad på rom i hotellet ikke har ventilasjon. Det er hovedårsak til mugg lukt på rom og spesiellt på bad. Fokost er enkel og funker helt greit. Det bygges i nabolaget så ta høyde for bygge arbeider og støy frem til sikkert utgang av 2014.

Das Jorge V liegt sehr zentral und man kann zu Fuß in gut fünf minuten in das Zentrum gelangen. Vom Airport gelangt man mit der Metro bis kurz vor das Hotel. Das Zimmer war recht klein. Es gab zwei zusammen geschobene Einzelbetten, die leicht auseinander rutschten.Im TV gab es zwei englische Nachrichtensender und ein paar portugiesische Programme. Minibar […] ist vorhanden, ebenso ein safe. Das Badezimmer ist sehr klein und eng. Die toilettenbenutzung ist eigentlich nur bei geöffneter Tür möglich. die Duschbadewanne mit Vorhang ist extrem schmal. Alles in Allem aber völlig ausrteichend als Unterkunft für ein paar Tage Lissabon. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig, auch wenn die 'warmen' Gerichte wie Spiegelei und Rührei meist nach kurzer Zeit kalt waren. Der Kaffee war meiner meinung nach sehr gut, schmeckte meiner Frau aber gar nicht wegen seines kräftigen Aromas.Für Kurzurlaub sehr zu empfehlen. Read more

Das Personal ist freundlich, die Sauberkeit insgesamt noch ok. Erdnüsse, die am ersten Tag auf den Boden gefallen sind auch nach 6 Tagen noch zu finden - hier kommt also nichts weg. Beim Frühstück kann es teilweise zu Staus bzw. Engpässen kommen, die mit Wartezeiten verbunden sind. Das Frühstücksangebot mit verschiedenen Säften sowie Brot- Wurst- Ei- […] und Käsevarianten plus kleinen süßen portugiesischen Pasteten ist als gut zu bezeichen. Leider ist das Umfeld des Hotels (Club um die Ecke) nachts teilweise sehr laut. Einige Gäste genießen scheinbar hauptsächlich das Nachtleben Lissabons.
