I've been coming here for over 30 years. The location is serene especially if you enjoy the desert location. Only had a day to enjoy it wish I had more. I'll be back though. This was a nice enough place to stay, but just a quick note to anyone who smokes, they do not allow smoking anywhere, not even outside, I understand not smoking in the room, but to not allow it anywhere outside seem a bit much to me, and would not stay here had I known this.

We picked a great time to stay at the resort. I felt we almost had the whole place to ourselves. The grounds and gardens were very nice. The great horned owls roosting in the trees was a real treat to see and made the experience memorable. The bed was very comfortable and the overlooking view of Tucson at night was spectacular. Nice stay. Been staying at the Westward Look for many years and was apprehensive that it had run dow. Was very happy to see it hadn't and that everything was still up-to-dte. Overall, very good! Very friendly and helpful staff! Rooms were very clean, nice linens/bedding. Minor irritation was the closet was too narrow for regular size hangers so attempting to slide open closet doors would constantly twist and hang-up the hangers. Did miss a bathtub although the shower was very nice, really prefer bathtub in-room also. Chef's […] garden was nice to walk through - ALL Staff from waiters/waitresses to maid, cleanup crews and maintenance were friendly, helpful and attentive as well as professional and hard-working. Perhaps not being used to the climate had trouble with room temperature and being comfortable. Very comfortable mattress and pillows - great comforter and linens but comforter was very warm and just using a sheet would be too cool - a mid-weight blanket in-between would have helped without having to adjust room temp all the time. While staff seemed to work nearly 24-7 both on grounds and inside, they were quiet as possible! In-room amenities were great - nice quality lotions, soaps - Food was fantastic, well prepared and not terribly over priced. Staff in the bar/lounge food area were fantastic - after several days of staying there they would remember our names and were very personable! All areas were always clean in the lobby and patio areas - the appointed staff to the conference I attended there worked hard and did an outstanding job for the CEAC Ag Center Conference - CLASS ACT! It was pretty clean however the lighting in the bathroom was poor and the bath tub filled with water when I was taking a shower. The fridge had a rack that fell off everytime I opened the door. The "resort" looks NOTHING like the photos. We actually had to ask someone if it was the same property in the photos. The rooms have no views, design is poor, in the middle of no where. Pool area and restaurant are disgusting and look NOTHING like the photos online. I have stayed at this hotel several times. This time when I arrived having made my reservations through Hotels.com, the front desk told me that the type of room I requested was not available. After getting my confirmation slip out to show them they apologized but said there was nothing they could do. It took requesting to see the manager to make the […] room suddenly available to us. So I suggest that you take your confirmation with you. The grounds of the hotel were lovely. They could pay some attention to getting new pool furniture and having more than 3 umbrellas around the main pool. They seemed a bit understaffed. The rooms were rather dark even with the 2 lamps on. Westword Look is a perfect place to stay if you want to relax, swim, hike and smell the orange blossoms. The restaurants are great, 3 pools and hot tubs and beautiful views of the desert and mountains

I had previously stayed in the Omni, and while I prefer the grounds there, these rooms are even better. The bedrooms are large (at least the junior suite I stayed in) with fluffy white linens and big bathrooms. The freebie bath items are nice! will not stay there again. Too many other hotels in Tucson. TV was nocked out due to storm. Basically, they said not our fault. Not anything they can do about. Really didnt seem to care. Hotel is a joke for the price!

it seriously needs a revamp for the price they charge for the room. W Hotel is less and ten times better. Light bulbs burned out, safe locked and unusable, TV cable service out for 1.5 days......... then,TV itself needed service. Only two glasses and no cups for coffee except for flimsy paper! And on top of the over $300 per night, they charged $20 […] for wifi which they had said was free! I left my prescription reading glasses (expensive frames) and they were "not found". The route to the room through the Hotel was an eagle scout expedition. They claimed it was the shortest. I found one that took a couple of minutes and didn't need a guide. I was very disappointed. The bed was excellent and it was quiet in the room. But for the price, it was ridiculous! The management needs to experience other Hotels of similar price and see what you get for the money! Stayed there for the Gem Show. Hotel is set up like condo buildings. Each building has 6 rooms. 2 are up half a flight of stairs, 2 are down and 2 are at ground level. I was bringing in VERY heavy bags in and out each night and was in a lower room so that part was not fun. Next time will request a ground level room. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, […] the downstairs rooms hear every footfall from the upstairs rooms, this is a real problem if you are below early risers. Another reason to request a ground level room. Parking is right outside building and that is nice. Room was large and comfortable. TV was hinged on wall and had to be pulled out to see from bed. The refrigerator in my room seemed to be unplugged - couldn't find cord to check though. Restaurant was very good. Wife and I needed a spot to getaway too and we found this place. It was great! Rooms were spotless, the grounds were maintained very well, and the food was wonderful. Eat breakfast there, it's well worth it! Wife got a massage at their spa and came away speechless at the service she received. We will definitely be back!!

Although this is an older facility I never felt that things were used up or out of condition. We were a party of 68 years to 8 months and everyone was happy with their stay. The restaurant, though pricey, was excellent. I would gladly recommend this resort.

Just came back from a multi-day stay at this hotel. Have mixed feelings about the hotel. Unfortunately I didn't look far enough into the hotel details to see the resort fee. This is purely my oversight...hotels.com has it listed. I just wish they would just put it into the price (it is a required nightly fee after all) or add it as a line item to the […] total cost (even if the hotel charges it directly). Reception staff was friendly and efficient. They upgraded us into a larger room (thanks). Unfortunately the first room they put us in had another unit above us. The walking of the patrons above us woke me up (a light sleeper) at 7am. They agreed to put us in another room since they weren't full. This room had a similar view, but I wasn't happy that the heater rattled most of the night (once again that light sleeper thing). I called the front desk the next morning and maintenance looked into it. It turns out that it was the fan and there was nothing that could be done about it. Sigh. I also agree with another reviewer that there is a design flaw in the shower door such that water will fall between the glass door and the fixed glass wall and onto the bathmat creating a wet mess. I like the location, the lights of Tucson are beautiful at night and the rooms are well appointed and large. Will I stay there next Christmas? I don't know - I'm just not sure the positives outweigh the negatives. Read more

I would return here. We didn't eat much at the hotel with so many restaurants to explore, but we did enjoy the hotel, Happy Hour, the tennis, & the larger rooms (a little more $, but worth it for getting together before hikes or dinner). For breakfast or lunch, I recommend Beyond Bread which is on Ina.

Went to Westward Look with my daughter (age 8) just before Christmas. We practically had the place to ourselves. She loved the heated pool and jacuzzi, especially sitting in the jacuzzi looking at the stars at night. Friendly staff and very comfy beds. Was there for two day stay with family. Beds were comfortable. The grounds were beautiful. The gym is GREAT with lovely views and lots of modern equipment. The tennis courts were lovely. And there are many desert trails abound for hiking. We ate at the casual restaurant. It was average. No problem with wifi. Would definitely stay there again.
