In Oct. 2011 we stayed at 3 higher-end New Delhi hotels in one week. The Park was quite nice - and yet the worst of the three. Why? Shower temperature was entirely variable and unpredictable from one half-minute to the next. A real adventure. The hotel needs a major clean up or a facelift the reception desk check in staff need to be more friendly. The staff checked us in and did not tell us what to do where to go we were still at the desk and he went around us and started to check in another guest. other than the front desk all the other staff were very friendly.

Spent 3 nights recently (7/23 to 7/26/11) here. Had a very bad experience with hotel staff and condition of the hotel. Since the hotel is badly maintained, I would think all guests have constant requests and complaints and the staff is over worked and at times rude and indifferent. The Rooms were poorly cleaned (dingy looking towels and bedsheets unchanged for newly arriving guests). The best that could be said regarding this hotel is that its complimentary breakfasts were impressive. The staff within the breakfast area was effecient and professional. The Park Hotel is a good option for Delhi. It's in a great neighborhood in New Delhi (2 blocks from Connaught Place, and just down the street from the embassies). Security is great, if that is a concern (they did retinal scans of our taxi driver, had the driver open the trunk and hood, and they scan all luggage coming into the hotel and have a metal […] detector as well at the entrance). The lobby is nice, with two pretty good restaurants. Breakfast buffet was included in my rate, which had a nice mix of Indian and Western items. I found the staff to be very professional and nice. The rooms are small (and I'm from New York), although comfortable (good AC, safe in the room. The bathroom was just ok...there were odd things like the shower curtain didn't make it to the floor, so taking a shower meant the entire bathroom would get flooded. I think The Park must have taken over some other hotel that was in that location, as the building itself is somewhat dated (1970's, curved white, ~8-story building). The hallways need a painting, carpet needs to be refreshed. Smoking was allowed on my floor, and while there was no evidence of it (smell) in my room, I saw guests smoking in the hallway on a couple occasions. Definitely it's geared toward business people, although there were plenty of tourists as well. Noise from the hallway was somewhat of an issue (any noise in the hallways such as doors closing or people talking reverberates). All in, though, good value and easy to get to the airport (less than 30 minutes) and tourist sites in both Old and New Delhi. Read more

This is a fun, dynamic hotel that is superbly located in Connaught Place. Great shopping and restaurants surround the hotel. The rooms were a bit small, but this is expected for a design hotel. The pool bar Aqua was a great scene- we went there every evening. My only complaint is that we had a room right above the disco, and it was so loud Saturday night that I couldn't sleep at all. Had I not had a plane to catch early Sunday morning I wouldn't have minded a bit- I would have gone downstairs and joined in the fun. Our initial welcome at this hotel was appalling especially as we had pre-paid for the whole duration of our stay. We arrived in the early hours of the morning having flown in from Heathrow. We had pre-arranged a pick-up from Delhi Airport by the hotel and they had previous notice we would be arriving late. After booking-in, the Duty Manager said a room […] would not be available for about an hour and offered a transfer to another 5* hotel - this we declined and requested that a room be made available quickly in view of the time and our many hours of travelling. After some debate, we told the Duty Manager if the type of room we had booked was not available then the Hotel needed to upgrade us. This was agreed but on arriving at our room the Duty Manager then tried to say this room would only be available for our first night - we refused to accept this arrangement and the Duty Manager backed-down after incorrectly accusing us of not notifying them of our expected time of arrival. In all a very unpleasant start to our holiday in Delhi. Read more

Park Hotel is very centrally located. The Jantar Mantar being only next door with the Metro Station only a 5 minutes walk make this an ideal hotel. The pasta was supposed to be midly spicy, but instead was bland and only the red colored sauce made it resemble pasta. The breakfast buffet was not much better. The room was not clean, there was condensation around the window, the carpet in the roomwas filthy and there were no instructions to operate the shower. Worst of all, the toilet was blocked and overflowing. We stayed in the hotel and the cleaner didnot even noticed that the toilet was blocked. I basically did not sleep as there is a house music night that goes on until 5am on a monday wed and fri nights and the entire hotel was shaking from the loud music.
