The rate and the hotel itself were pretty nice, but it takes over an hour to get into NYC using public transportation. It's also a little confusing to get to.

Everything about this hotel was really nice - the only issue I had was that I couldn't get internet on my laptop - even with the cord they provided plugged in - not the best neighborhood, but this was in Newark

It was not bad for the price and the location. The sheets appeared and smelled clean. It really was not more than I expected but the room had an odor that I did not care for and it was opposite the hotel's laundry room and that door was left open.

I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the hotel considering the price I paid. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The property was what I expected from reading other reviewers' comments, and was ideally located for my business trip to the area. Breakfast wasn't quite what I expected due to some of the other comments, but was, in all fairness, as advertised. (I was expecting just a bit more on the hot side.) Staff was friendly and helpful, and I didn't have any concerns of safety on the grounds. I will stay here again when I return to the area - assuming I again get a reasonable rate.

outstanding room and hospitality

I reserve the King size bed - jetted tub room the room was big and clean. We had everything we needed and more. They gave us extra towels, soaps, shampoos etc The room had a small kitchenette area which surprised us we did not expect that to be in our room. The location is not the best but the hotel makes up for it. Front desk could have been a little bit nicer. Breakfast was good and they had a nice variety. I would recommend this hotel to others.

We came in late, and received a suite. It was probably the nicest room I've ever stayed in. The staff was great when I had to extend my stay beyond my original plans. Good breakfast.

We stayed at this hotel for one night and had a satisfactory stay. One issue is that the hotel does not have a restaurant, and hence, one has to order food from outside.

We arrived late and got a room on the lower level of the hotel, beneath the front desk level. It says E on the elevator but B on the wall when you exit the elevator. The room was adequate but had a noisy bathroom vent. The vent was part of the lighting fixture and came on whenever you turned on the light. The AC also made quite a bit of noise. Our maid service was very poor. We did not get clean glasses. One day she did not even take away all the dirty glasses. We told the front desk staff but they did not seem to care. On the good side, they offer a great hot breakfast and the location is pretty good.

Did not state accurate information on airport shuttle. Stated that they had one did not state that there was a cost per guest.

I feel like hotel was great...and the price was lovly.... the people who was there is also good.

We stayed for one night and when we called to see if we could check in early than 3 they charge an additional $40. When we finally got to the room it smelled of serious cigarette. We asked for another room. It was worse than the first one. The smell of cigarette smoke met us in the hallway. Now I though this was non smoking hotel. The third room was fine. I would not stay at this hotel again. Unless it was my only choice.

Location central to major roadways. Room was extremely comfortable and included refrigerator and microwave.

If you want to be close to the airport and close to Penn Station, Newark, that's the place to be. But if you look for a nice neighborhood, this is really not where you want to stay. It is scary.

We've stayed at the Comfort Suites several times while visiting family in Newark. Always clean, comfortable - and a great breakfast. Now with 2 waffle irons - less waiting! Thanks! :-)

The location of the hotel was convenient for us and the price was good, however the light outside our ground floor window was incredibly bright and the curtain did not close all the way to keep the light out. The traffic was also noisy. The breakfast was mediocre, but we weren't expecting much. This is definitely a no frills hotel. I would have been disappointed had we paid more for our room, but for the price it was a decent stay.

Great location, about a 30 min drive to NYC, but I would not walk here at night. Room is spacious and clean. Free breakfast included is a plus and free parking. Service is ok. Called to request extra pillows and was told "you already have 8 pillows and are not getting any more". True, but a little rude...

I have been to Rutgers a couple of times using different hotels in the area. This hotel is worth the money and so close to the campus. The location is away from the main strip of Newark. The area seemed safe with a fenced in parking lot. I have finally found a hotel that I will continue to stay at during the school year. The only complaint would be the $10 charge to use the hotel's transportation to Penn Station. All hotels in the area give the free transportation.

I would definitely stay here again. Everything was great - cleanliness, spacious, quality free breakfast, courteous staff, comfortable!!

Stayed there 1 night and they had everything waiting for us when we got there. Very nice managment and the breakfast bar was good hot food and great coffee! We would stay there again if in the area.

We drove to a play in Manhattan so it was extremely convenient. The room was clean and well kept. Breakfast was wonderful with a wide selection of choices.

It was convenient and reasonably clean. The hotel staff was pleasant and responsive. The continental breakfast was a nice feature.

We were there for one nite the room was very clean and we were able to get in much earlier then the checking in time the breakfast that was provided for us was very nice and also good coffee. No dought we will stay there again when we go to Newark.

Lousy location, extremely noisy all night and the worst breakfast I've ever had. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all.

I reserved a room that was a non-smoking-King size bed and this was what I received. The room was quite large and comfortable on both occasions. On our second visit, which was in a different but identical room, the toilet was plugged and would not flush properly. Secondly, the shower/tub drain was about 90% blocked with hair in the drain. Thankfully, there was a toilet in the hallway that we used during our 2 day stay. When we asked for a plunger on day 1, we received a damaged and ineffective one which did not correct the problem. After we asked for a new plunger, this did not work either. It became evident that these toilets have an oblong (as opposed to round) opening at the bottom, which would require a specialized plunger to create the proper seal in order to force water through the hidden blockage. I would not attempt to explain this to the desk manager, since it's ridiculous we have to deal with this in the first place and then have to convey what type of maintenance equipment they need. They should already know. I am an easy guest to please. All I ask for is a clean bed and plumbing that works. The cleaning staff should be checking these BASIC items weekly at a minimum. All it takes is flushing a toilet and running water in a bathtub briefly. This experience is all that would tarnish a great stay otherwise.

Our room was very clean and house keeping staff were efficient and friendly...but the overall hotel cleanliness was less than expected. Trash on the public computer table in the lobby was there for 3 days, a bar of soap and a soap wrapper lay in the foyer for at least 3 days. There was trash in the hallways which was still there when I checked out and trash in the parking lot. Breakfast was also a disappointment, scrambled eggs, ham and sausage were hot when put in the serving pan, but allowed to cool quickly as there was no heat under the pan, half the toaster was broken and while breakfast was to be served from 6-10am, staff began putting things away just after 9:30 on 2 days. On the plus side, the waffle maker was great and the waffles were delicious. The price was certainly right, the outdoor security staff made you feel safe and parking was included in the price (as was the breakfast). Great value, if you overlook the hiccups.

Spacious, clean, breakfast included. I was in town for just one night for a funeral and wanted something large and roomy to lay out my clothes and other items. It was conveniently located close to family as well as where the arrangements were being held.

but stopped up tub, extremely loud bathroom fan, used food packets behind the nightstand, tv remote didn't always work.

WHILE THE ROOM WAS NICE THE BATHROOM FLOOR WAS NOT TOTALLY CLEAN. OTHER THEN THAT I WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM RETURNING OR RECCOMMENDING THIS HOTEL TO A FRIEND.
