The hotel staff were not friendly when we first arrived. Once you leave the lobby the ac does not work. The bed in the room was horrible. Once you sat or tried to lay down it curved into the middle of the bed. The bathroom did not seem clean. The rugs in the hallway were worn and old looking. This hotel was recommended by friends and I don't know how long ago they stayed there but it was a huge disappointment. We arrived on a very warm London afternoon and the room's air conditioning was not working; despite the engineer's attempts (including cleaning the dust-encrusted filter), the air never blew cooler than fan level. The bathroom floor […] was dirty when we arrived and there was a significant amount of dry rot on the baseboard behind the toilet. The management provided a hair dryer for which there was no outlet in the bathroom or anywhere near a mirror, hence unusable. When we pointed this out to the management, they acted as though we were demanding something unreasonable--and were not interested in attempting to solve. There was supposed to be a safe in the room but no one could seem to find it. There was a hot towel warmer very near the shower stall that was burning to the touch. It could not be turned off despite the engineer's attempts, and it made the bathroom even hotter in the warm weather. The room's central ceiling fixture gave a very bleak light and one of its six weak bulbs was burned out. A local friend called us to coordinate a meeting and was hard pressed to get the desk to put the call through to the room. There was peeling paint everywhere and faded wallpaper. Very rundown appearance, showing complete disregard for the guests. In sum, the accomodations here are about the guests having to accomodate to the hotel, not the other way around! Read more

The Knightsbridge Green hotel was in a great location, 2 minute walk from Harrods and the tube. The staff were friendly and the bed extremely comfy. I can understand why this place cost so much because of the location. However, the quality of the place is way below the bar for the price. Breakfast was included, but was "Room Service" with a few slices of cold toast, a croissant and a pot of tea. The Hotels.com site said "This room has a view of the city". The receptionist admitted that NO rooms […] have a view of the city. I checked in at lunch time and found that none of the lights worked in my room so asked for this to be looked at. 5 hours later after returning from work it had not been looked at because the lights still didn't work. After complaining to the manager he sorted it out personally. All the rooms I used had the smell of having previously been smoked in. Carpets on the stairs are threadbare. I took a 10 mile run around the nearby attractions (in the cold and rain) for the sole purpose of getting me out of this depressing place. The shower was nice and powerful though. The elevator (1 only) is small and old, with sliding brass door, that is alsoused as a service lift. It only goes 5 floors, and if you are on the 6th floor, it's stairs from there. If you choose to have breakfast, it must be taken in your room

This hotel has a great location. We stayed here when attending an event at the Royal Albert Hall which was just a 10 minute walk away. The price of the room included breakfast, which we never received. They insist on taking a £50 deposit either by cash or pre-authorised credit card swipe on check in. Although the actual room wasn't that bad, the staff make you feel like an inconvenience to them, which wasn't pleasant at all. First of all my stay wasn't half as bad as expected not sure what all the other review are all about . Yes the hotel is not 5 star and there are some minor faults like small cracks in ceiling or some of the tiles in the bathroom but nothing that justificed end of the world like reviews. The hotel's claimed status is misleading. This substandard and overpriced hotel hardly merits one star.It has a prime location but the hotel is not just tired- its exhausted. To be fair the bedlinen and towels were clean and the staff were friendly enough. However the room was depressing to be in - it was dark, dirty and dusty and the bathroom mouldy. […] The bed was a low level uncomfortable creaky affair. Stairs were literally threadbare past 1st level. Given that the hotel has neither a restaurant or bar (and an empty mini bar), the hotel's insistence in blocking a specified £100 from a credit card against possible further charges was not a good start. The location could not compensate for so many shorcomings. This was our worst hotel experience. My wife and I spent as little time there as we possibly could. Hotellet har overhode ingen fasiliteter - ikke engang frokostsal. Man får toast og marmelade på et brett på rommet. Det er alt. Ikke glass på rommet. 随分前に予約をしていたにもかかわらず、連泊で同じ部屋が確保されておらず、一泊目は一人はスイートルーム、一人はエレベーターのない屋根裏の部屋で同料金と信じがたいホテルでした。屋根裏部屋は鍵が毀れ壁に穴が開き木製の廊下を人が歩く度に恐怖を覚えるホテルです。スイートルームでさえトイレの水は流れにくく、チェーンの鍵はなく、他の部屋もバスタブの栓も甘く、満足な部屋は一つもない状態でした。ルームサービスの朝食も頼んだように一度も来たことがありません。掃除も十分でなく不潔極まりない状態でした。ロケーション以外は良いところが何もないホテルです。
